| Words | |يخادعون - They seek to deceive| الله - Allah| والذين - and those who| آمنوا - believe[d],| وما - and not| يخدعون - they deceive| إلا - except| أنفسهم - themselves,| وما - and not| يشعرون - they realize (it).| | ||||||

| 7 [2:20] | Yakadu albarqu yakhtafu absarahumkullama adaa lahum mashaw feehi wa-itha athlamaAAalayhim qamoo walaw shaa Allahu lathahababisamAAihim waabsarihim inna Allaha AAalakulli shay-in qadeerun | يكاد البرق يخطف أبصارهم كلما أضاء لهم مشوا فيه وإذا أظلم عليهم قاموا ولو شاء الله لذهب بسمعهم وأبصارهم إن الله على كل شيء قدير يَكَادُ الْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَارَهُمْ كُلَّمَا أَضَاءَ لَهُم مَّشَوْاْ فِيهِ وَإِذَا أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُواْ وَلَوْ شَاء اللّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَارِهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّه عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ | |||||

| 8 [2:23] | Wa-in kuntum fee raybin mimma nazzalnaAAala AAabdina fa/too bisooratin min mithlihi waodAAooshuhadaakum min dooni Allahi in kuntum sadiqeena | وإن كنتم في ريب مما نزلنا على عبدنا فأتوا بسورة من مثله وادعوا شهداءكم من دون الله إن كنتم صادقين وَإِنْ كُنتُمْ فِي رَيْبٍ مِّمَّا نَزَّلْنَا عَلَى عَبْدِنَا فَأْتُواْ بِسُورَةٍ مِّن مِّثْلِهِ وَادْعُواْ شُهَدَاءَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللّهِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ | |||||

| 9 [2:26] | Inna Allaha la yastahyeean yadriba mathalan ma baAAoodatan famafawqaha faamma allatheena amanoofayaAAlamoona annahu alhaqqu min rabbihim waammaallatheena kafaroo fayaqooloona matha aradaAllahu bihatha mathalan yudillu bihikatheeran wayahdee bihi katheeran wama yudillu bihiilla alfasiqeena | إن الله لا يستحيي أن يضرب مثلا ما بعوضة فما فوقها فأما الذين آمنوا فيعلمون أنه الحق من ربهم وأما الذين كفروا فيقولون ماذا أراد الله بهذا مثلا يضل به كثيرا ويهدي به كثيرا وما يضل به إلا الفاسقين إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَسْتَحْيِي أَن يَّضْرِبَ مَثَلاً مَّا بَعُوضَةً فَمَا فَوْقَهَا فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ فَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَيَقُولُونَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِهَـذَا مَثَلاً يُضِلُّ بِهِ كَثِيراً وَّيَهْدِي بِهِ كَثِيراً وَمَا يُضِلُّ بِهِ إِلاَّ الْفَاسِقِينَ | |||||
| Words | |إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| لا - (is) not| يستحيي - ashamed| أن - to| يضرب - set forth| مثلا - an example| ما - (like) even| بعوضة - (of) a mosquito| فما - and (even) something| فوقها - above it.| فأما - Then as for| الذين - those who| آمنوا - believed,| فيعلمون - [thus] they will know| أنه - that it| الحق - (is) the truth| من - from| ربهم - their Lord.| وأما - And as for| الذين - those who| كفروا - disbelieved| فيقولون - [thus] they will say| ماذا - what| أراد - (did) intend| الله - Allah| بهذا - by this| مثلا - example?| يضل - He lets go astray| به - by it| كثيرا - many| ويهدي - and He guides| به - by it| كثيرا - many.| وما - And not| يضل - He lets go astray| به - by it| إلا - except| الفاسقين - the defiantly disobedient.| | ||||||
| 10 [2:27] | Allatheena yanqudoona AAahdaAllahi min baAAdi meethaqihi wayaqtaAAoona maamara Allahu bihi an yoosala wayufsidoona fee al-ardiola-ika humu alkhasiroona | الذين ينقضون عهد الله من بعد ميثاقه ويقطعون ما أمر الله به أن يوصل ويفسدون في الأرض أولئك هم الخاسرون الَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَ اللَّهِ مِن بَعْدِ مِيثَاقِهِ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَا أَمَرَ اللَّهُ بِهِ أَن يُّوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِي الأَرْضِ أُولَـئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ | |||||

| 11 [2:55] | Wa-ith qultum ya moosalan nu/mina laka hatta nara Allahajahratan faakhathatkumu alssaAAiqatu waantumtanthuroona | وإذ قلتم يا موسى لن نؤمن لك حتى نرى الله جهرة فأخذتكم الصاعقة وأنتم تنظرون وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَا مُوسَى لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّى نَرَى اللَّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْكُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قلتم - you said,| يا - O| موسى - "O Musa!| لن - Never| نؤمن - (will) we believe| لك - in you| حتى - until| نرى - we see| الله - Allah| جهرة - manifestly."| فأخذتكم - So seized you| الصاعقة - the thunderbolt| وأنتم - while you| تنظرون - (were) looking.| | ||||||
| 12 [2:60] | Wa-ithi istasqa moosaliqawmihi faqulna idrib biAAasaka alhajarafainfajarat minhu ithnata AAashrata AAaynan qadAAalima kullu onasin mashrabahum kuloo waishraboomin rizqi Allahi wala taAAthaw fee al-ardimufsideena | وإذ استسقى موسى لقومه فقلنا اضرب بعصاك الحجر فانفجرت منه اثنتا عشرة عينا قد علم كل أناس مشربهم كلوا واشربوا من رزق الله ولا تعثوا في الأرض مفسدين وَإِذِ اسْتَسْقَى مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ فَقُلْنَا اضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَ فَانْفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْناً قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ كُلُواْ وَاشْرَبُواْ مِن رِّزْقِ اللَّهِ وَلاَ تَعْثَوْاْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| استسقى - asked (for) water| موسى - Musa| لقومه - for his people,| فقلنا - [so] We said,| اضرب - "Strike| بعصاك - with your staff| الحجر - the stone."| فانفجرت - Then gushed forth| منه - from it| اثنتا - (of)| عشرة - twelve| عينا - springs.| قد - Indeed| علم - knew| كل - all| أناس - (the) people| مشربهم - their drinking place.| كلوا - "Eat| واشربوا - and drink| من - from| رزق - (the) provision (of)| الله - Allah,| ولا - and (do) not| تعثوا - act wickedly| في - in| الأرض - the earth| مفسدين - spreading corruption."| | ||||||
| 13 [2:61] | Wa-ith qultum ya moosalan nasbira AAala taAAamin wahidinfaodAAu lana rabbaka yukhrij lana mimmatunbitu al-ardu min baqliha waqiththa-ihawafoomiha waAAadasiha wabasaliha qalaatastabdiloona allathee huwa adna biallatheehuwa khayrun ihbitoo misran fa-inna lakum masaaltum waduribat AAalayhimu alththillatu waalmaskanatuwabaoo bighadabin mina Allahi thalikabi-annahum kanoo yakfuroona bi-ayati Allahiwayaqtuloona alnnabiyyeena bighayri alhaqqi thalikabima AAasaw wakanoo yaAAtadoona | وإذ قلتم يا موسى لن نصبر على طعام واحد فادع لنا ربك يخرج لنا مما تنبت الأرض من بقلها وقثائها وفومها وعدسها وبصلها قال أتستبدلون الذي هو أدنى بالذي هو خير اهبطوا مصرا فإن لكم ما سألتم وضربت عليهم الذلة والمسكنة وباءوا بغضب من الله ذلك بأنهم كانوا يكفرون بآيات الله ويقتلون النبيين بغير الحق ذلك بما عصوا وكانوا يعتدون وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَا مُوسَى لَن نَّصْبِرَ عَلَى طَعَامٍ وَّاحِدٍ فَادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُخْرِجْ لَنَا مِمَّا تُنْبِتُ الأَرْضُ مِنْ بَقْلِهَا وَقِثَّآئِهَا وَفُومِهَا وَعَدَسِهَا وَبَصَلِهَا قَالَ أَتَسْتَبْدِلُونَ الَّذِي هُوَ أَدْنَى بِالَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ اهْبِطُواْ مِصْراً فَإِنَّ لَكُم مَّا سَأَلْتُمْ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الذِّلَّةُ وَالْمَسْكَنَةُ وَبَآؤُوْاْ بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ يَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ النَّبِيِّيْنَ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ ذَلِكَ بِمَا عَصَواْ وَّكَانُواْ يَعْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قلتم - you said,| يا - O| موسى - "O Musa!| لن - Never (will)| نصبر - we endure| على - [on]| طعام - food| واحد - (of) one (kind),| فادع - so pray| لنا - for us| ربك - (to) your Lord| يخرج - to bring forth| لنا - for us| مما - out of what| تنبت - grows| الأرض - the earth,| من - of| بقلها - its herbs,| وقثائها - [and] its cucumbers,| وفومها - [and] its garlic,| وعدسها - [and] its lentils,| وبصلها - and its onions."| قال - He said,| أتستبدلون - "Would you exchange| الذي - that which| هو - [it]| أدنى - (is) inferior| بالذي - for that which| هو - [it]| خير - (is) better?| اهبطوا - Go down| مصرا - (to) a city,| فإن - so indeed| لكم - for you| ما - (is) what| سألتم - you have asked (for)."| وضربت - And were struck| عليهم - on them| الذلة - the humiliation| والمسكنة - and the misery| وباءوا - and they drew on themselves| بغضب - wrath| من - of| الله - Allah| ذلك - That (was)| بأنهم - because they| كانوا - used to| يكفرون - disbelieve| بآيات - in (the) Signs| الله - (of) Allah| ويقتلون - and kill| النبيين - the Prophets| بغير - without (any)| الحق - [the] right.| ذلك - That| بما - (was) because| عصوا - they disobeyed| وكانوا - and they were| يعتدون - transgressing.| | ||||||
| 14 [2:64] | Thumma tawallaytum min baAAdi thalikafalawla fadlu Allahi AAalaykum warahmatuhulakuntum mina alkhasireena | ثم توليتم من بعد ذلك فلولا فضل الله عليكم ورحمته لكنتم من الخاسرين ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُم مِّنْ بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ فَلَوْلاَ فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ لَكُـنْـتُم مِّنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ | |||||
| Words | |ثم - Then| توليتم - you turned away| من - from| بعد - after| ذلك - that.| فلولا - So if not| فضل - (for the) Grace| الله - (of) Allah| عليكم - upon you| ورحمته - and His Mercy,| لكنتم - surely you would have been| من - of| الخاسرين - the losers.| | ||||||
| 15 [2:67] | Wa-ith qala moosaliqawmihi inna Allaha ya/murukum an tathbahoobaqaratan qaloo atattakhithuna huzuwan qalaaAAoothu biAllahi an akoona mina aljahileena | وإذ قال موسى لقومه إن الله يأمركم أن تذبحوا بقرة قالوا أتتخذنا هزوا قال أعوذ بالله أن أكون من الجاهلين وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ إِنَّ اللّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تَذْبَحُواْ بَقَرَةً قَالُواْ أَتَتَّخِذُنَا هُزُواً قَالَ أَعُوذُ بِاللّهِ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ | |||||

| 16 [2:70] | Qaloo odAAu lana rabbakayubayyin lana ma hiya inna albaqara tashabahaAAalayna wa-inna in shaa Allahulamuhtadoona | قالوا ادع لنا ربك يبين لنا ما هي إن البقر تشابه علينا وإنا إن شاء الله لمهتدون قَالُواْ ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا هِيَ إِنَّ البَقَرَ تَشَابَهَ عَلَيْنَا وَإِنَّآ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَمُهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |قالوا - They said,| ادع - "Pray| لنا - for us| ربك - (to) your Lord| يبين - to make clear| لنا - to us| ما - what| هي - it (is).| إن - Indeed,| البقر - [the] cows| تشابه - look alike| علينا - to us.| وإنا - And indeed we,| إن - if| شاء - wills| الله - Allah,| لمهتدون - (will) surely be those who are guided."| | ||||||
| 17 [2:73] | Faqulna idriboohu bibaAAdihakathalika yuhyee Allahu almawtawayureekum ayatihi laAAallakum taAAqiloona | فقلنا اضربوه ببعضها كذلك يحيي الله الموتى ويريكم آياته لعلكم تعقلون فَقُلْنَا اضْرِبُوهُ بِبَعْضِهَا كَذَلِكَ يُحْيِ اللّهُ الْمَوْتَى وَيُرِيْكُمْ آيَاتِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فقلنا - So We said,| اضربوه - "Strike him| ببعضها - with a part of it."| كذلك - Like this| يحيي - revives| الله - Allah| الموتى - the dead,| ويريكم - and shows you| آياته - His Signs,| لعلكم - perhaps you may| تعقلون - use your intellect.| | ||||||
| 18 [2:74] | Thumma qasat quloobukum min baAAdi thalikafahiya kaalhijarati aw ashaddu qaswatanwa-inna mina alhijarati lama yatafajjaruminhu al-anharu wa-inna minha lamayashshaqqaqu fayakhruju minhu almao wa-inna minhalama yahbitu min khashyati Allahi wamaAllahu bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloona | ثم قست قلوبكم من بعد ذلك فهي كالحجارة أو أشد قسوة وإن من الحجارة لما يتفجر منه الأنهار وإن منها لما يشقق فيخرج منه الماء وإن منها لما يهبط من خشية الله وما الله بغافل عما تعملون ثُمَّ قَسَتْ قُلُوبُكُم مِّنْ بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ فَهِيَ كَالْحِجَارَةِ أَوْ أَشَدُّ قَسْوَةً وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْحِجَارَةِ لَمَا يَتَفَجَّرُ مِنْهُ الأَنْهَارُ وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَشَّقَّقُ فَيَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ الْمَاءُ وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَهْبِطُ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللّهِ وَمَا اللّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ | |||||

| 19 [2:75] | AfatatmaAAoona an yu/minoo lakumwaqad kana fareequn minhum yasmaAAoona kalama Allahithumma yuharrifoonahu min baAAdi ma AAaqaloohuwahum yaAAlamoona | أفتطمعون أن يؤمنوا لكم وقد كان فريق منهم يسمعون كلام الله ثم يحرفونه من بعد ما عقلوه وهم يعلمون أَفَتَطْمَعُونَ أَنْ يُّؤْمِنُواْ لَكُمْ وَقَدْ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ كَلاَمَ اللّهِ ثُمَّ يُحَرِّفُونَهُ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا عَقَلُوهُ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||

| 20 [2:76] | Wa-itha laqoo allatheena amanooqaloo amanna wa-itha khalabaAAduhum ila baAAdin qaloo atuhaddithoonahumbima fataha Allahu AAalaykum liyuhajjookumbihi AAinda rabbikum afala taAAqiloona | وإذا لقوا الذين آمنوا قالوا آمنا وإذا خلا بعضهم إلى بعض قالوا أتحدثونهم بما فتح الله عليكم ليحاجوكم به عند ربكم أفلا تعقلون وَإِذَا لَقُواْ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ قَالُواْ آمَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلاَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ قَالُواْ أَتُحَدِّثُونَهُم بِمَا فَتَحَ اللّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لِيُحَآجُّوكُم بِهِ عِنْدَ رَبِّكُمْ أَفَلاَ تَعْقِلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| لقوا - they meet| الذين - those who| آمنوا - believe[d],| قالوا - they say,| آمنا - "We have believed."| وإذا - But when| خلا - meet in private| بعضهم - some of them| إلى - with| بعض - some (others),| قالوا - they say,| أتحدثونهم - "Do you tell them| بما - what| فتح - has| الله - Allah| عليكم - to you| ليحاجوكم - so that they argue with you| به - therewith| عند - before| ربكم - your Lord?| أفلا - Then do (you) not| تعقلون - understand?"| | ||||||
