| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[43:38] | Hatta itha jaanaqala ya layta baynee wabaynaka buAAda almashriqaynifabi/sa alqareenu
|  حتى إذا جاءنا قال يا ليت بيني وبينك بعد المشرقين فبئس القرين
حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءَنَا قَالَ يَا لَيْتَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكَ بُعْدَ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ فَبِئْسَ الْقَرِينُ |
| Words | |حتى - Until| إذا - when| جاءنا - he comes to Us| قال - he says,| يا - O| ليت - "O would that| بيني - between me| وبينك - and between you| بعد - (were the) distance| المشرقين - (of) the East and the West."| فبئس - How wretched is| القرين - the companion!| |
