| 1 [10:12] | Wa-itha massa al-insana alddurrudaAAana lijanbihi aw qaAAidan aw qa-imanfalamma kashafna AAanhu durrahu marra kaanlam yadAAuna ila durrin massahu kathalikazuyyina lilmusrifeena ma kanoo yaAAmaloona |  وإذا مس الإنسان الضر دعانا لجنبه أو قاعدا أو قائما فلما كشفنا عنه ضره مر كأن لم يدعنا إلى ضر مسه كذلك زين للمسرفين ما كانوا يعملونوَإِذَا مَسَّ الْإِنسَانَ الضُّرُّ دَعَانَا لِجَنبِهِ أَوْ قَاعِدًا أَوْ قَآئِمًا فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُ ضُرَّهُ مَرَّ كَأَن لَّمْ يَدْعُنَا إِلَى ضُرٍّ مَّسَّهُ كَذَلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| مس - touches| الإنسان - the man| الضر - the affliction| دعانا - he calls Us,| لجنبه - (lying) on his side| أو - or| قاعدا - sitting| أو - or| قائما - standing.| فلما - But when| كشفنا - We remove| عنه - from him| ضره - his affliction| مر - he passes on| كأن - as if he| لم - (had) not| يدعنا - called Us| إلى - for| ضر - (the) affliction| مسه - (that) touched him.| كذلك - Thus| زين - (it) is made fair seeming| للمسرفين - to the extravagant| ما - what| كانوا - they used (to)| يعملون - do.| | ||||||
| 2 [12:88] | Falamma dakhaloo AAalayhi qalooya ayyuha alAAazeezu massana waahlanaalddurru waji/na bibidaAAatin muzjatinfaawfi lana alkayla watasaddaq AAalayna innaAllaha yajzee almutasaddiqeena | فلما دخلوا عليه قالوا يا أيها العزيز مسنا وأهلنا الضر وجئنا ببضاعة مزجاة فأوف لنا الكيل وتصدق علينا إن الله يجزي المتصدقين فَلَمَّا دَخَلُواْ عَلَيْهِ قَالُواْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْعَزِيزُ مَسَّنَا وَأَهْلَنَا الضُّرُّ وَجِئْنَا بِبِضَاعَةٍ مُّزْجَاةٍ فَأَوْفِ لَنَا الْكَيْلَ وَتَصَدَّقْ عَلَيْنَآ إِنَّ اللّهَ يَجْزِي الْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فلما - So when| دخلوا - they entered| عليه - upon him| قالوا - they said,| يا - O| أيها - "O Aziz!| العزيز - "O Aziz!| مسنا - Has touched us| وأهلنا - and our family| الضر - the adversity,| وجئنا - and we have come| ببضاعة - with goods| مزجاة - (of) little value,| فأوف - but pay (in) full| لنا - to us| الكيل - the measure| وتصدق - and be charitable| علينا - to us.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| يجزي - rewards| المتصدقين - the charitable."| | ||||||
| 3 [16:53] | Wama bikum min niAAmatin famina Allahithumma itha massakumu alddurru fa-ilayhitaj-aroona | وما بكم من نعمة فمن الله ثم إذا مسكم الضر فإليه تجأرون وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللّهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْأَرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وما - And whatever| بكم - you have| من - of| نعمة - favor| فمن - (is) from| الله - Allah.| ثم - Then| إذا - when| مسكم - touches you| الضر - the adversity| فإليه - then to Him| تجأرون - you cry for help.| | ||||||
| 4 [16:54] | Thumma itha kashafa alddurraAAankum itha fareequn minkum birabbihim yushrikoona | ثم إذا كشف الضر عنكم إذا فريق منكم بربهم يشركون ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ الضُّرَّ عَنكُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ثم - Then| إذا - when| كشف - He removes| الضر - the adversity| عنكم - from you,| إذا - behold!| فريق - A group| منكم - of you| بربهم - with their Lord| يشركون - associate others,| | ||||||
| 5 [17:56] | Quli odAAu allatheena zaAAamtum mindoonihi fala yamlikoona kashfa alddurriAAankum wala tahweelan | قل ادعوا الذين زعمتم من دونه فلا يملكون كشف الضر عنكم ولا تحويلا قُلِ ادْعُواْ الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُم مِّن دُونِهِ فَلاَ يَمْلِكُونَ كَشْفَ الضُّرِّ عَنكُمْ وَلاَ تَحْوِيلاً | |||||
| Words | |قل - Say,| ادعوا - "Call| الذين - those whom| زعمتم - you claimed| من - besides Him,| دونه - besides Him,| فلا - [then] not| يملكون - they have power| كشف - (to) remove| الضر - the misfortunes| عنكم - from you| ولا - and not| تحويلا - (to) transfer (it)."| | ||||||
| 6 [17:67] | Wa-itha massakumu alddurrufee albahri dalla man tadAAoona illa iyyahufalamma najjakum ila albarri aAAradtumwakana al-insanu kafooran | وإذا مسكم الضر في البحر ضل من تدعون إلا إياه فلما نجاكم إلى البر أعرضتم وكان الإنسان كفورا وَإِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الْضُّرُّ فِي الْبَحْرِ ضَلَّ مَن تَدْعُونَ إِلاَّ إِيَّاهُ فَلَمَّا نَجَّاكُمْ إِلَى الْبَرِّ أَعْرَضْتُمْ وَكَانَ الْإِنْسَانُ كَفُورًا | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| مسكم - touches you| الضر - the hardship| في - in| البحر - the sea,| ضل - lost| من - (are) who| تدعون - you call| إلا - except| إياه - Him Alone.| فلما - But when| نجاكم - He delivers you| إلى - to| البر - the land| أعرضتم - you turn away.| وكان - And is| الإنسان - man| كفورا - ungrateful.| | ||||||
| 7 [21:83] | Waayyooba ith nadarabbahu annee massaniya alddurru waanta arhamualrrahimeena | وأيوب إذ نادى ربه أني مسني الضر وأنت أرحم الراحمين وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَى رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وأيوب - And Ayub,| إذ - when| نادى - he called| ربه - (to) his Lord,| أني - "Indeed, [I]| مسني - has touched me| الضر - the adversity,| وأنت - and You| أرحم - (are) Most Merciful| الراحمين - (of) the Merciful."| | ||||||
