| 1 [2:206] | Wa-itha qeela lahu ittaqi Allahaakhathat-hu alAAizzatu bial-ithmi fahasbuhujahannamu walabi/sa almihadu |  وإذا قيل له اتق الله أخذته العزة بالإثم فحسبه جهنم ولبئس المهادوَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُ اتَّقِ اللّهَ أَخَذَتْهُ الْعِزَّةُ بِالْإِثْمِ فَحَسْبُهُ جَهَنَّمُ وَلَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| قيل - it is said| له - to him| اتق - "Fear| الله - Allah,"| أخذته - takes him| العزة - (his) pride| بالإثم - to [the] sins.| فحسبه - Then enough for him| جهنم - (is) Hell -| ولبئس - [and] surely an evil| المهاد - [the] resting-place.| | ||||||
| 2 [29:40] | Fakullan akhathna bithanbihifaminhum man arsalna AAalayhi hasiban waminhum manakhathat-hu alssayhatu waminhum mankhasafna bihi al-arda waminhum man aghraqnawama kana Allahu liyathlimahumwalakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona | فكلا أخذنا بذنبه فمنهم من أرسلنا عليه حاصبا ومنهم من أخذته الصيحة ومنهم من خسفنا به الأرض ومنهم من أغرقنا وما كان الله ليظلمهم ولكن كانوا أنفسهم يظلمون فَكُلًّا أَخَذْنَا بِذَنبِهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حَاصِبًا وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَخَذَتْهُ الصَّيْحَةُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَغْرَقْنَا وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَكِن كَانُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فكلا - So each| أخذنا - We seized| بذنبه - for his sin.| فمنهم - Then of them| من - (was he) who,| أرسلنا - We sent| عليه - on him| حاصبا - a violent storm,| ومنهم - and of them| من - (was he) who,| أخذته - seized him| الصيحة - the awful cry| ومنهم - and of them| من - (was he) who,| خسفنا - We caused to swallow| به - him,| الأرض - the earth| ومنهم - and of them| من - (was he) who,| أغرقنا - We drowned.| وما - And not| كان - was| الله - Allah| ليظلمهم - to wrong them| ولكن - but| كانوا - they were| أنفسهم - themselves| يظلمون - doing wrong.| | ||||||
