| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[2:66] | FajaAAalnaha nakalanlima bayna yadayha wama khalfahawamawAAithatan lilmuttaqeena
|  فجعلناها نكالا لما بين يديها وما خلفها وموعظة للمتقين
فَجَعَلْنَاهَا نَكَالاً لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهَا وَمَا خَلْفَهَا وَمَوْعِظَةً لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ |
| Words | |فجعلناها - So We made it| نكالا - a deterrent punishment| لما - for those| بين - (in) front| يديها - (of) them| وما - and those| خلفها - after them| وموعظة - and an admonition| للمتقين - for those who fear (Allah).| |

| (ቅጣቲቱንም) ለነዚያ በስተፊትዋ ለነበሩትና ለነዚያም ከበኋላዋ ላሉት (ሕዝቦች) መቀጣጫ ለፈራህያንም መገሰጫ አደረግናት፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { فجعلناها } أي تلك العقوبة { نكالاً } عبرة مانعة من ارتكاب مثل ما عملوا { لما بين يديها وما خلفها } أي للأمم التي في زمانها وبعدها { وموعظة للمتقين } الله وخصوا بالذكر لأنهم المنتفعون بخلاف غيرهم . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | অতঃপর আমি এ ঘটনাকে তাদের সমসাময়িক ও পরবর্তীদের জন্য দৃষ্টান্ত এবং আল্লাহভীরুদের জন্য উপদেশ গ্রহণের উপাদান করে দিয়েছি। |
| Literal | So We made it (a) severe exemplary punishment for what (is) between its hands and what (is) behind it, and (an) advice/warning , to the fearing and obeying. |
| Yusuf Ali | So We made it an example to their own time and to their posterity, and a lesson to those who fear Allah. |
| Pickthal | And We made it an example to their own and to succeeding generations, and an admonition to the Allah-fearing. |
