| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[17:83] | Wa-itha anAAamna AAalaal-insani aAArada wanaa bijanibihiwa-itha massahu alshsharru kana yaoosan
|  وإذا أنعمنا على الإنسان أعرض ونأى بجانبه وإذا مسه الشر كان يئوسا
وَإِذَآ أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى الْإِنسَانِ أَعْرَضَ وَنَئَا بِجَانِبِهِ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ كَانَ يَؤُوسًا |
| Words | |وإذا - And when| أنعمنا - We bestow favor| على - on| الإنسان - man| أعرض - he turns away| ونأى - and becomes remote| بجانبه - on his side.| وإذا - And when| مسه - touches him| الشر - the evil| كان - he is| يئوسا - (in) despair.| |

| በሰውም ላይ ጸጋችንን በለገስን ጊዜ (ከምስጋና) ይዞራል፡፡ ጎኑንም (ከእውነት) ያርቃል፡፡ ችግርም በነካው ጊዜ ተስፋ ቆራጭ ይኾናል፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وإذا أنعمنا على الإنسان } الكافر { أعرض } عن الشكر { ونأى بجانبه } ثنى عطفه متبخترا { وإذا مسه الشر } الفقر والشدة { كان يؤوسا } قنوطا من رحمة الله . |
| Ma N$at amdan ad iwexxeô, ad iveôôef iman is. Ma iêuza t wugur ad iayes. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আমি মানুষকে নেয়ামত দান করলে সে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয় এবং অহংকারে দুরে সরে যায়; যখন তাকে কোন অনিষ্ট স্পর্শ করে, তখন সে একেবারে হতাশ হয়ে পড়ে। |
| Literal | And if We blessed on the human, he objected/turned away and he went far with his side/direction, and if the bad/evil/harm touched him, (he) was/is despairing/hopeless. |
| Yusuf Ali | Yet when We bestow Our favours on man, he turns away and becomes remote on his side (instead of coming to Us), and when evil seizes him he gives himself up to despair! |
