| 1 [4:125] | Waman ahsanu deenan mimman aslamawajhahu lillahi wahuwa muhsinun waittabaAAamillata ibraheema haneefan waittakhathaAllahu ibraheema khaleelan |  ومن أحسن دينا ممن أسلم وجهه لله وهو محسن واتبع ملة إبراهيم حنيفا واتخذ الله إبراهيم خليلاوَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ دِينًا مِّمَّنْ أَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ واتَّبَعَ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَاتَّخَذَ اللّهُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلاً | |||||
| Words | |ومن - And who| أحسن - (is) better| دينا - (in) religion| ممن - than (one) who| أسلم - submits| وجهه - his face| لله - to Allah| وهو - and he| محسن - (is) a good-doer| واتبع - and follows| ملة - (the) religion| إبراهيم - (of) Ibrahim| حنيفا - (the) upright?| واتخذ - And was taken| الله - (by) Allah| إبراهيم - Ibrahim| خليلا - (as) a friend.| | ||||||
| 2 [7:176] | Walaw shi/na larafaAAnahu bihawalakinnahu akhlada ila al-ardi waittabaAAahawahu famathaluhu kamathali alkalbi in tahmilAAalayhi yalhath aw tatruk-hu yalhath thalika mathalualqawmi allatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatinafaoqsusi alqasasa laAAallahumyatafakkaroona | ولو شئنا لرفعناه بها ولكنه أخلد إلى الأرض واتبع هواه فمثله كمثل الكلب إن تحمل عليه يلهث أو تتركه يلهث ذلك مثل القوم الذين كذبوا بآياتنا فاقصص القصص لعلهم يتفكرون وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَاهُ بِهَا وَلَـكِنَّهُ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ الْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَث ذَّلِكَ مَثَلُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا فَاقْصُصِ الْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولو - And if| شئنا - We willed| لرفعناه - surely, We (could) have raised him| بها - with these| ولكنه - [and] but he| أخلد - adhered| إلى - to| الأرض - the earth| واتبع - and followed| هواه - his (vain) desires.| فمثله - So his example| كمثل - (is) like (the) example| الكلب - (of) the dog,| إن - if| تحمل - you attack| عليه - [on] him,| يلهث - he lolls out his tongue| أو - or| تتركه - if you leave him,| يلهث - he lolls out his tongue.| ذلك - That| مثل - (is the) example| القوم - (of) the people| الذين - who| كذبوا - denied| بآياتنا - [in] Our Signs.| فاقصص - So relate| القصص - the story| لعلهم - so that they may| يتفكرون - reflect.| | ||||||
| 3 [10:109] | WaittabiAA ma yoohailayka waisbir hatta yahkumaAllahu wahuwa khayru alhakimeena | واتبع ما يوحى إليك واصبر حتى يحكم الله وهو خير الحاكمين وَاتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَى إِلَيْكَ وَاصْبِرْ حَتَّى يَحْكُمَ اللّهُ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الْحَاكِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |واتبع - And follow| ما - what| يوحى - is revealed| إليك - to you| واصبر - and be patient| حتى - until| يحكم - Allah gives judgment.| الله - Allah gives judgment.| وهو - And He| خير - (is) the Best| الحاكمين - (of) the Judges.| | ||||||
| 4 [11:116] | Falawla kana mina alquroonimin qablikum oloo baqiyyatin yanhawna AAani alfasadi feeal-ardi illa qaleelan mimman anjayna minhumwaittabaAAa allatheena thalamoo maotrifoo feehi wakanoo mujrimeena | فلولا كان من القرون من قبلكم أولو بقية ينهون عن الفساد في الأرض إلا قليلا ممن أنجينا منهم واتبع الذين ظلموا ما أترفوا فيه وكانوا مجرمين فَلَوْلاَ كَانَ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ أُوْلُواْ بَقِيَّةٍ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْفَسَادِ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً مِّمَّنْ أَنجَيْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَاتَّبَعَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مَا أُتْرِفُواْ فِيهِ وَكَانُواْ مُجْرِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فلولا - So why not| كان - had been| من - of| القرون - the generations| من - before you| قبلكم - before you| أولو - those possessing a remnant,| بقية - those possessing a remnant,| ينهون - forbidding| عن - from| الفساد - the corruption| في - in| الأرض - the earth| إلا - except| قليلا - a few| ممن - of those| أنجينا - We saved| منهم - among them?| واتبع - But followed| الذين - those who| ظلموا - did wrong| ما - what| أترفوا - luxury they were given| فيه - therein,| وكانوا - and they were| مجرمين - criminals.| | ||||||
| 5 [15:65] | Faasri bi-ahlika biqitAAin minaallayli waittabiAA adbarahum wala yaltafitminkum ahadun waimdoo haythutu/maroona | فأسر بأهلك بقطع من الليل واتبع أدبارهم ولا يلتفت منكم أحد وامضوا حيث تؤمرون فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ وَاتَّبِعْ أَدْبَارَهُمْ وَلاَ يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَامْضُواْ حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فأسر - So travel| بأهلك - with your family| بقطع - in a portion| من - of| الليل - the night| واتبع - and follow| أدبارهم - their backs,| ولا - and not| يلتفت - let look back| منكم - among you| أحد - anyone,| وامضوا - and go on| حيث - where| تؤمرون - you are ordered."| | ||||||
| 6 [18:28] | Waisbir nafsaka maAAa allatheenayadAAoona rabbahum bialghadati waalAAashiyyiyureedoona wajhahu wala taAAdu AAaynaka AAanhumtureedu zeenata alhayati alddunya walatutiAA man aghfalna qalbahu AAan thikrinawaittabaAAa hawahu wakana amruhu furutan | واصبر نفسك مع الذين يدعون ربهم بالغداة والعشي يريدون وجهه ولا تعد عيناك عنهم تريد زينة الحياة الدنيا ولا تطع من أغفلنا قلبه عن ذكرنا واتبع هواه وكان أمره فرطا وَاصْبِرْ نَفْسَكَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُ وَلاَ تَعْدُ عَيْنَاكَ عَنْهُمْ تُرِيدُ زِينَةَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَلاَ تُطِعْ مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ وَكَانَ أَمْرُهُ فُرُطًا | |||||
| Words | |واصبر - And be patient,| نفسك - yourself,| مع - with| الذين - those who| يدعون - call| ربهم - their Lord| بالغداة - in the morning| والعشي - and the evening| يريدون - desiring| وجهه - His Face.| ولا - And (let) not| تعد - pass beyond| عيناك - your eyes| عنهم - over them,| تريد - desiring| زينة - adornment| الحياة - (of) the life| الدنيا - (of) the world,| ولا - and (do) not| تطع - obey| من - whom| أغفلنا - We have made heedless| قلبه - his heart| عن - of| ذكرنا - Our remembrance,| واتبع - and follows| هواه - his desires| وكان - and is| أمره - his affair| فرطا - (in) excess.| | ||||||
| 7 [20:16] | Fala yasuddannaka AAanhaman la yu/minu biha waittabaAAa hawahufatarda | فلا يصدنك عنها من لا يؤمن بها واتبع هواه فتردى فَلاَ يَصُدَّنَّكَ عَنْهَا مَنْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُ بِهَا وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ فَتَرْدَى | |||||
| Words | |فلا - So (do) not| يصدنك - (let) avert you| عنها - from it| من - (one) who| لا - (does) not| يؤمن - believe| بها - in it| واتبع - and follows| هواه - his desires,| فتردى - lest you perish.| | ||||||
| 8 [31:15] | Wa-in jahadaka AAala antushrika bee ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun fala tutiAAhumawasahibhuma fee alddunya maAAroofanwaittabiAA sabeela man anaba ilayya thumma ilayyamarjiAAukum faonabbi-okum bima kuntum taAAmaloona | وإن جاهداك على أن تشرك بي ما ليس لك به علم فلا تطعهما وصاحبهما في الدنيا معروفا واتبع سبيل من أناب إلي ثم إلي مرجعكم فأنبئكم بما كنتم تعملون وَإِن جَاهَدَاكَ عَلَى أَن تُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِي الدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا وَاتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَيَّ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإن - But if| جاهداك - they strive against you| على - on| أن - that| تشرك - you associate partners| بي - with Me| ما - what| ليس - not| لك - you have| به - of it| علم - any knowledge,| فلا - then (do) not| تطعهما - obey both of them.| وصاحبهما - But accompany them| في - in| الدنيا - the world| معروفا - (with) kindness,| واتبع - and follow| سبيل - (the) path| من - (of him) who| أناب - turns| إلي - to Me.| ثم - Then| إلي - towards Me| مرجعكم - (is) your return,| فأنبئكم - then I will inform you| بما - of what| كنتم - you used (to)| تعملون - do."| | ||||||
| 9 [33:2] | WaittabiAA ma yoohailayka min rabbika inna Allaha kana bimataAAmaloona khabeeran | واتبع ما يوحى إليك من ربك إن الله كان بما تعملون خبيرا وَاتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَى إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا | |||||
| Words | |واتبع - And follow| ما - what| يوحى - is inspired| إليك - to you| من - from| ربك - your Lord.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| كان - is| بما - of what| تعملون - you do| خبيرا - All-Aware.| | ||||||
