| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[11:116] | Falawla kana mina alquroonimin qablikum oloo baqiyyatin yanhawna AAani alfasadi feeal-ardi illa qaleelan mimman anjayna minhumwaittabaAAa allatheena thalamoo maotrifoo feehi wakanoo mujrimeena
|  فلولا كان من القرون من قبلكم أولو بقية ينهون عن الفساد في الأرض إلا قليلا ممن أنجينا منهم واتبع الذين ظلموا ما أترفوا فيه وكانوا مجرمين
فَلَوْلاَ كَانَ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ أُوْلُواْ بَقِيَّةٍ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْفَسَادِ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً مِّمَّنْ أَنجَيْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَاتَّبَعَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مَا أُتْرِفُواْ فِيهِ وَكَانُواْ مُجْرِمِينَ |

| ከእናንተም በፊት ከነበሩት ከክፍለ ዘመናት ሰዎች ውስጥ በምድር ላይ ከማበላሸት የሚከለክሉ የመልካም ቀሪ ሥራዎች ባለቤቶች ለምን አልነበሩም ግን ከእነሱ ያዳንናቸው ጥቂቶቹ (ከለከሉና ዳኑ)፡፡ እነዚያም የበደሉት ሰዎች (አልከለከሉም)፡፡ በእርሱ የተቀማጠሉበትን ተድላ ተከተሉ፡፡ አመጸኞችም ነበሩ፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { فلولا } فهلا { كان من القرون } الأمم الماضية { من قبلكم أولو بقية } أصحاب دين وفضل { ينهون عن الفساد في الأرض } المراد به النفي: أي ما كان فيهم ذلك { إلا } لكن { قليلا ممن أنجينا منهم } نهوا فنجوا ومن للبيان { واتبع الذين ظلموا } بالفساد وترك النهي { ما أترفوا } نعموا { فيه وكانوا مجرمين } . |
| A lemmer llan, di tsuta i kwen id izwaren, imezgiyen ineqqven asefsed di tmurt! Qlilit kan seg wid Nsellek segsen. Wid idensen ddan akked wayen i ten izhan, u$alen d ibe$wviyen. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | কাজেই, তোমাদের পূর্ববতী জাতি গুলির মধ্যে এমন সৎকর্মশীল কেন রইল না, যারা পৃথিবীতে বিপর্যয় সৃষ্টি করতে বাধা দিত; তবে মুষ্টিমেয় লোক ছিল যাদেরকে আমি তাদের মধ্য হতে রক্ষা করেছি। আর পাপিষ্ঠরা তো ভোগ বিলাসে মত্ত ছিল যার সামগ্রী তাদেরকে যথেষ্ট দেয়া হয়েছিল। আসলে তারা ছিল মহা অপরাধী। |
| Literal | So where it not for (owners) of a remainder/remnant , from the generations/centuries from before you, (who were) forbidding/preventing from the corruption in the earth/Planet Earth, except a few from whom We saved/rescued from them; and those who caused injustice/oppression followed what they were luxuriated ungrateful and arrogant in it, and they were criminals/sinners . |
| Yusuf Ali | Why were there not, among the generations before you, persons possessed of balanced good sense, prohibiting (men) from mischief in the earth - except a few among them whom We saved (from harm)? But the wrong-doers pursued the enjoyment of the good things of life which were given them, and persisted in sin. |
| Pickthal | If only there had been among the generations before you men possessing a remnant (of good sense) to warn (their people) from corruption in the earth, as did a few of those whom We saved from them! The wrong-doers followed that by which they were made sapless, and were guilty. |
| Arberry | Or if there had been, of the generations before you, men of a remainder forbidding corruption in the earth -- except a few of those whom We delivered of them; but the evildoers followed the ease they were given to exult in and became sinners. |

And those who were unjust went after what they are made to enjoy of plenty, and they were guilty. |
| Sarwar | Why were there no people of understanding among those people of the destroyed towns of the past except for a few, whom we saved from destruction, to prevent people from committing evil in the land? The unjust among them indulged in worldly pleasures and so became guilty. |

| Malik | Why were there not among the generations before you, good persons who could forbid the people from making mischief in the land, except a few of those whom We delivered from among them? The wrongdoers, however, pursued the worldly pleasure they were provided, and became confirmed criminals.[116] |
| Maulana Ali** | Why were there not then among the generations before you those possessing understanding, forbidding mischief in the earth, except a few among them whom We delivered? And the unjust pursued the enjoyment of plenty, and they were guilty. |
