أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ ( 1 ) As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 1
Did We not expand your chest? (Endowed you with resilience, understanding and a heart and mind to accomplish the As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 1
وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ ( 2 ) As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 2
And thus lightened your burden. (Made the journey through life easy by bestowing upon you the perceptual and intellectual faculties). (80:20). As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 2
الَّذِي أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ ( 3 ) As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 3
Which would weigh on your back so heavily. As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 3
وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ ( 4 ) As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 4
And exalted your renown (O Prophet!). (And gave eminence to you, O Mankind!). As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 4
فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ( 5 ) As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 5
And behold, with every hardship comes ease. As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 5
إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ( 6 ) As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 6
Indeed, with every hardship comes ease! As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 6
فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانصَبْ ( 7 ) As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 7
Hence, whenever you are free from the immediate task, embark upon the next strife. As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 7
وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَب ( 8 ) As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 8
And turn all your attention to your Lord. (Remain focused on the Mission entrusted upon you by your Lord). As-Sharh ( The Opening Forth) - Aya 8
