| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[7:176] | Walaw shi/na larafaAAnahu bihawalakinnahu akhlada ila al-ardi waittabaAAahawahu famathaluhu kamathali alkalbi in tahmilAAalayhi yalhath aw tatruk-hu yalhath thalika mathalualqawmi allatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatinafaoqsusi alqasasa laAAallahumyatafakkaroona
|  ولو شئنا لرفعناه بها ولكنه أخلد إلى الأرض واتبع هواه فمثله كمثل الكلب إن تحمل عليه يلهث أو تتركه يلهث ذلك مثل القوم الذين كذبوا بآياتنا فاقصص القصص لعلهم يتفكرون
وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَاهُ بِهَا وَلَـكِنَّهُ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ الْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَث ذَّلِكَ مَثَلُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا فَاقْصُصِ الْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ |
| Words | |ولو - And if| شئنا - We willed| لرفعناه - surely, We (could) have raised him| بها - with these| ولكنه - [and] but he| أخلد - adhered| إلى - to| الأرض - the earth| واتبع - and followed| هواه - his (vain) desires.| فمثله - So his example| كمثل - (is) like (the) example| الكلب - (of) the dog,| إن - if| تحمل - you attack| عليه - [on] him,| يلهث - he lolls out his tongue| أو - or| تتركه - if you leave him,| يلهث - he lolls out his tongue.| ذلك - That| مثل - (is the) example| القوم - (of) the people| الذين - who| كذبوا - denied| بآياتنا - [in] Our Signs.| فاقصص - So relate| القصص - the story| لعلهم - so that they may| يتفكرون - reflect.| |

| በሻንም ኖሮ በእርሷ ከፍ ባደረግነው ነበር፡፡ እርሱ ግን ወደ ምድር ተዘነበለ፡፡ ፍላጎቱንም ተከተለ፡፡ ብጤውም ብታባርረው ምላሱን አውጥቶ የሚያለከልክ ወይም ብትተወው ምላሱን አውጥቶ የሚያለከልክ እንደ ኾነ ውሻ ነው፡፡ ይህ የእነዚያ በአንቀጾቻችን ያስተባበሉት ሕዝቦች ምሳሌ ነው፡፡ ያስተነትኑም ዘንድ ታሪኮችን ተርክላቸው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ولو شئنا لرفعناه } إلى منازل العلماء { بها } بأن نوقفه للعمل { ولكنه أخلد } سكن { إلى الأرض } أي الدنيا ومال إليها { واتَّبع هواه } في دعائه إليها فوضعناه { فمثله } صفته { كمثل الكلب إن تحمل عليه } بالطرد والزجر { يلهث } يدلع لسانه { أو } إن { تتركه يلهث } وليس غيره من الحيوان كذلك، وجملتا الشرط حال، أي لاهثا ذليلا بكل حال، والقصد التشبيه في الوضع والخسة بقرينة الفاء المشعرة بترتيب ما بعدها على ما قبلها من الميل إلى الدنيا واتباع الهوى وبقرينة، قوله { ذلك } المثل { مَثَلُ القوم الذين كذَّبوا بآياتنا فاقصص القَصَصَ } على اليهود { لعلهم يتفكرون } يتدبرون فيها فيؤمنون . |
| Lemmer i £ ihwi, Nessuli t yissen. Maca, ib$a tamurt, idda d lhawiyya s. Ihi, amedya s am win n waydi, ma teddiv p fellas, ad ilehhet, ma teooiv t, ad ilehhet. D wagi ay d amedya n ugdud i iskaddben issekniyen nne£. Eêku d tadyant, amar a d mmektin. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | অবশ্য আমি ইচ্ছা করলে তার মর্যাদা বাড়িয়ে দিতাম সে সকল নিদর্শনসমূহের দৌলতে। কিন্তু সে যে অধঃপতিত এবং নিজের রিপুর অনুগামী হয়ে রইল। সুতরাং তার অবস্থা হল কুকুরের মত; যদি তাকে তাড়া কর তবুও হাঁপাবে আর যদি ছেড়ে দাও তবুও হাঁপাবে। এ হল সেসব লোকের উদাহরণ; যারা মিথ্যা প্রতিপন্ন করেছে আমার নিদর্শনসমূহকে। অতএব, আপনি বিবৃত করুন এসব কাহিনী, যাতে তারা চিন্তা করে। |
| Literal | And if We wanted/willed, We would have risen him with it, and but he (wanted to) perpetuate/immortalize/eternalize the earth/Planet Earth, and he followed his self attraction for desire/love and lust , so his example/proverb (is) like the example (of) the dog, if you burden/load on it, it pants , and if you leave it, it pants, that is (the) example/proverb (of) the nation those who lied/denied/falsified with Our verses/evidences , so narrate/relay the narration/information ,maybe/perhaps they think. |
| Yusuf Ali | If it had been Our will, We should have elevated him with Our signs; but he inclined to the earth, and followed his own vain desires. His similitude is that of a dog: if you attack him, he lolls out his tongue, or if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls out his tongue. That is the similitude of those who reject Our signs; So relate the story; perchance they may reflect. |
| Pickthal | And had We willed We could have raised him by their means, but he clung to the earth and followed his own lust. Therefor his likeness is as the likeness of a dog: if thou attackest him he panteth with his tongue out, and if thou leavest him he panteth with his tongue out. Such is the likeness of the people who deny Our revelations. Narrate unto them the history (of the men of old), that haply they may take thought. |

| Sarwar | Had We wanted, We could have raised him to an exalted position but he clung to his earthly life and followed his own (evil) desires. Such person's bad habits are like those of a lazy dog (in a warm climate) who always has its tongue hanging out whether you chase it away or leave it alone. Such are the people who have called Our revelations mere lies. (Muhammad), tell them such stories so that perhaps they will think. |

Hän käyttäytyi kuin koira: jos käyt sitä kohti, pursuu sen kieli ulos suusta, ja jos jätät sen rauhaan, pursuu sen kieli suusta. Näin on laita myös ihmisten, jotka vääntävät tunnusmerkkimme valheeksi; kerro heille siksi tämä kertomus, jotta he ajattelisivat. |
| Na o kabaya Ami, na mataan! a maphakaozor Ami skaniyan sa sabap roo; na ogaid na Skaniyan na mizoramig ko doniya, go piyangonotan iyan so n´nga iyan. Na aya ibarat iyan na lagid o aso a o pakabasnging ka skaniyan, na pakaloloyotn iyan a dila iyan, odi na ding ka khodiin skaniyan, na pakaloloyotn iyan dn a dila iyan. Giyoto man i ibarat o pagtaw a so piyakambokhag iran so manga ayat Ami; na panotholang ka so manga tothol, ka an iran mapphamimikiran. |
