| 1 [2:51] | Wa-ith waAAadna moosaarbaAAeena laylatan thumma ittakhathtumu alAAijla minbaAAdihi waantum thalimoona |  وإذ واعدنا موسى أربعين ليلة ثم اتخذتم العجل من بعده وأنتم ظالمونوَإِذْ وَاعَدْنَا مُوسَى أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً ثُمَّ اتَّخَذْتُمُ الْعِجْلَ مِن بَعْدِهِ وَأَنتُمْ ظَالِمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| واعدنا - We appointed| موسى - (for) Musa| أربعين - forty| ليلة - nights.| ثم - Then| اتخذتم - you took| العجل - the calf| من - from| بعده - after him| وأنتم - and you| ظالمون - (were) wrongdoers.| | ||||||
| 2 [2:53] | Wa-ith atayna moosaalkitaba waalfurqana laAAallakum tahtadoona | وإذ آتينا موسى الكتاب والفرقان لعلكم تهتدون وَإِذْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ وَالْفُرْقَانَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| آتينا - We gave| موسى - Musa| الكتاب - the Book| والفرقان - and the Criterion,| لعلكم - perhaps you| تهتدون - (would be) guided.| | ||||||
| 3 [2:54] | Wa-ith qala moosaliqawmihi ya qawmi innakum thalamtumanfusakum biittikhathikumu alAAijla fatooboo ilabari-ikum faoqtuloo anfusakum thalikumkhayrun lakum AAinda bari-ikum fataba AAalaykuminnahu huwa alttawwabu alrraheemu | وإذ قال موسى لقومه يا قوم إنكم ظلمتم أنفسكم باتخاذكم العجل فتوبوا إلى بارئكم فاقتلوا أنفسكم ذلكم خير لكم عند بارئكم فتاب عليكم إنه هو التواب الرحيم وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّكُمْ ظَلَمْتُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ بِاتِّخَاذِكُمُ الْعِجْلَ فَتُوبُواْ إِلَى بَارِئِكُمْ فَاقْتُلُواْ أَنْـفُسَكُمْ ذَلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ عِندَ بَارِئِكُمْ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِنَّهُ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قال - said| موسى - Musa| لقومه - to his people,| يا - O| قوم - "O my people!| إنكم - Indeed, you| ظلمتم - [you] have wronged| أنفسكم - yourselves| باتخاذكم - by your taking| العجل - the calf.| فتوبوا - So turn in repentance| إلى - to| بارئكم - your Creator,| فاقتلوا - and kill| أنفسكم - yourselves.| ذلكم - That| خير - (is) better| لكم - for you| عند - with| بارئكم - your Creator."| فتاب - Then He turned| عليكم - towards you.| إنه - Indeed He!| هو - He| التواب - (is) the-returning,| الرحيم - the Most Merciful.| | ||||||
| 4 [2:55] | Wa-ith qultum ya moosalan nu/mina laka hatta nara Allahajahratan faakhathatkumu alssaAAiqatu waantumtanthuroona | وإذ قلتم يا موسى لن نؤمن لك حتى نرى الله جهرة فأخذتكم الصاعقة وأنتم تنظرون وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَا مُوسَى لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّى نَرَى اللَّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْكُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قلتم - you said,| يا - O| موسى - "O Musa!| لن - Never| نؤمن - (will) we believe| لك - in you| حتى - until| نرى - we see| الله - Allah| جهرة - manifestly."| فأخذتكم - So seized you| الصاعقة - the thunderbolt| وأنتم - while you| تنظرون - (were) looking.| | ||||||
| 5 [2:60] | Wa-ithi istasqa moosaliqawmihi faqulna idrib biAAasaka alhajarafainfajarat minhu ithnata AAashrata AAaynan qadAAalima kullu onasin mashrabahum kuloo waishraboomin rizqi Allahi wala taAAthaw fee al-ardimufsideena | وإذ استسقى موسى لقومه فقلنا اضرب بعصاك الحجر فانفجرت منه اثنتا عشرة عينا قد علم كل أناس مشربهم كلوا واشربوا من رزق الله ولا تعثوا في الأرض مفسدين وَإِذِ اسْتَسْقَى مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ فَقُلْنَا اضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَ فَانْفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْناً قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ كُلُواْ وَاشْرَبُواْ مِن رِّزْقِ اللَّهِ وَلاَ تَعْثَوْاْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| استسقى - asked (for) water| موسى - Musa| لقومه - for his people,| فقلنا - [so] We said,| اضرب - "Strike| بعصاك - with your staff| الحجر - the stone."| فانفجرت - Then gushed forth| منه - from it| اثنتا - (of)| عشرة - twelve| عينا - springs.| قد - Indeed| علم - knew| كل - all| أناس - (the) people| مشربهم - their drinking place.| كلوا - "Eat| واشربوا - and drink| من - from| رزق - (the) provision (of)| الله - Allah,| ولا - and (do) not| تعثوا - act wickedly| في - in| الأرض - the earth| مفسدين - spreading corruption."| | ||||||
| 6 [2:61] | Wa-ith qultum ya moosalan nasbira AAala taAAamin wahidinfaodAAu lana rabbaka yukhrij lana mimmatunbitu al-ardu min baqliha waqiththa-ihawafoomiha waAAadasiha wabasaliha qalaatastabdiloona allathee huwa adna biallatheehuwa khayrun ihbitoo misran fa-inna lakum masaaltum waduribat AAalayhimu alththillatu waalmaskanatuwabaoo bighadabin mina Allahi thalikabi-annahum kanoo yakfuroona bi-ayati Allahiwayaqtuloona alnnabiyyeena bighayri alhaqqi thalikabima AAasaw wakanoo yaAAtadoona | وإذ قلتم يا موسى لن نصبر على طعام واحد فادع لنا ربك يخرج لنا مما تنبت الأرض من بقلها وقثائها وفومها وعدسها وبصلها قال أتستبدلون الذي هو أدنى بالذي هو خير اهبطوا مصرا فإن لكم ما سألتم وضربت عليهم الذلة والمسكنة وباءوا بغضب من الله ذلك بأنهم كانوا يكفرون بآيات الله ويقتلون النبيين بغير الحق ذلك بما عصوا وكانوا يعتدون وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَا مُوسَى لَن نَّصْبِرَ عَلَى طَعَامٍ وَّاحِدٍ فَادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُخْرِجْ لَنَا مِمَّا تُنْبِتُ الأَرْضُ مِنْ بَقْلِهَا وَقِثَّآئِهَا وَفُومِهَا وَعَدَسِهَا وَبَصَلِهَا قَالَ أَتَسْتَبْدِلُونَ الَّذِي هُوَ أَدْنَى بِالَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ اهْبِطُواْ مِصْراً فَإِنَّ لَكُم مَّا سَأَلْتُمْ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الذِّلَّةُ وَالْمَسْكَنَةُ وَبَآؤُوْاْ بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ يَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ النَّبِيِّيْنَ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ ذَلِكَ بِمَا عَصَواْ وَّكَانُواْ يَعْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قلتم - you said,| يا - O| موسى - "O Musa!| لن - Never (will)| نصبر - we endure| على - [on]| طعام - food| واحد - (of) one (kind),| فادع - so pray| لنا - for us| ربك - (to) your Lord| يخرج - to bring forth| لنا - for us| مما - out of what| تنبت - grows| الأرض - the earth,| من - of| بقلها - its herbs,| وقثائها - [and] its cucumbers,| وفومها - [and] its garlic,| وعدسها - [and] its lentils,| وبصلها - and its onions."| قال - He said,| أتستبدلون - "Would you exchange| الذي - that which| هو - [it]| أدنى - (is) inferior| بالذي - for that which| هو - [it]| خير - (is) better?| اهبطوا - Go down| مصرا - (to) a city,| فإن - so indeed| لكم - for you| ما - (is) what| سألتم - you have asked (for)."| وضربت - And were struck| عليهم - on them| الذلة - the humiliation| والمسكنة - and the misery| وباءوا - and they drew on themselves| بغضب - wrath| من - of| الله - Allah| ذلك - That (was)| بأنهم - because they| كانوا - used to| يكفرون - disbelieve| بآيات - in (the) Signs| الله - (of) Allah| ويقتلون - and kill| النبيين - the Prophets| بغير - without (any)| الحق - [the] right.| ذلك - That| بما - (was) because| عصوا - they disobeyed| وكانوا - and they were| يعتدون - transgressing.| | ||||||
| 7 [2:67] | Wa-ith qala moosaliqawmihi inna Allaha ya/murukum an tathbahoobaqaratan qaloo atattakhithuna huzuwan qalaaAAoothu biAllahi an akoona mina aljahileena | وإذ قال موسى لقومه إن الله يأمركم أن تذبحوا بقرة قالوا أتتخذنا هزوا قال أعوذ بالله أن أكون من الجاهلين وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ إِنَّ اللّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تَذْبَحُواْ بَقَرَةً قَالُواْ أَتَتَّخِذُنَا هُزُواً قَالَ أَعُوذُ بِاللّهِ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قال - said| موسى - Musa| لقومه - to his people,| إن - "Indeed,| الله - Allah| يأمركم - commands you| أن - that| تذبحوا - you slaughter| بقرة - a cow."| قالوا - They said,| أتتخذنا - "Do you take us| هزوا - (in) ridicule."| قال - He said,| أعوذ - "I seek refuge| بالله - in Allah| أن - that| أكون - I be| من - among| الجاهلين - the ignorant."| | ||||||
| 8 [2:87] | Walaqad atayna moosaalkitaba waqaffayna min baAAdihi bialrrusuliwaatayna AAeesa ibna maryama albayyinatiwaayyadnahu biroohi alqudusi afakullama jaakumrasoolun bima la tahwa anfusukumuistakbartum fafareeqan kaththabtum wafareeqan taqtuloona | ولقد آتينا موسى الكتاب وقفينا من بعده بالرسل وآتينا عيسى ابن مريم البينات وأيدناه بروح القدس أفكلما جاءكم رسول بما لا تهوى أنفسكم استكبرتم ففريقا كذبتم وفريقا تقتلون وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ وَقَفَّيْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ بِالرُّسُلِ وَآتَيْنَا عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ الْبَيِّنَاتِ وَأَيَّدْنَاهُ بِرُوحِ الْقُدُسِ أَفَكُلَّمَا جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ بِمَا لاَ تَهْوَى أَنفُسُكُمُ اسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ فَفَرِيقاً كَذَّبْتُمْ وَفَرِيقاً تَقْتُلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولقد - And indeed| آتينا - We gave| موسى - Musa| الكتاب - the Book| وقفينا - and We followed up| من - from| بعده - after him| بالرسل - with [the] Messengers.| وآتينا - And We gave| عيسى - Isa,| ابن - (the) son| مريم - (of) Maryam,| البينات - [the] clear signs| وأيدناه - and We supported him| بروح - (with)| القدس - the Holy Spirit.| أفكلما - Is it (not) so (that) whenever| جاءكم - came to you| رسول - a Messenger| بما - with what| لا - (does) not| تهوى - desire| أنفسكم - yourselves,| استكبرتم - you acted arrogantly?| ففريقا - So a party| كذبتم - you denied,| وفريقا - and a party| تقتلون - you kill(ed).| | ||||||
| 9 [2:92] | Walaqad jaakum moosa bialbayyinatithumma ittakhathtumu alAAijla min baAAdihi waantum thalimoona | ولقد جاءكم موسى بالبينات ثم اتخذتم العجل من بعده وأنتم ظالمون وَلَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ مُّوسَى بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ ثُمَّ اتَّخَذْتُمُ الْعِجْلَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وَأَنتُمْ ظَالِمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولقد - And indeed| جاءكم - came to you| موسى - Musa| بالبينات - with [the] clear signs,| ثم - then| اتخذتم - you took| العجل - the calf| من - from| بعده - after him| وأنتم - and you| ظالمون - (were) wrongdoers.| | ||||||
| 10 [2:108] | Am tureedoona an tas-aloo rasoolakum kamasu-ila moosa min qablu waman yatabaddali alkufra bial-eemanifaqad dalla sawaa alssabeeli | أم تريدون أن تسألوا رسولكم كما سئل موسى من قبل ومن يتبدل الكفر بالإيمان فقد ضل سواء السبيل أَمْ تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَسْأَلُواْ رَسُولَكُمْ كَمَا سُئِلَ مُوسَى مِن قَبْلُ وَمَن يَتَبَدَّلِ الْكُفْرَ بِالإِيمَانِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَاءَ السَّبِيلِ | |||||
| Words | |أم - Or| تريدون - (do) you wish| أن - that| تسألوا - you ask| رسولكم - your Messenger| كما - as| سئل - was asked| موسى - Musa| من - from| قبل - before?| ومن - And whoever| يتبدل - exchanges| الكفر - [the] disbelief| بالإيمان - with [the] faith,| فقد - so certainly| ضل - he went astray (from)| سواء - (the) evenness| السبيل - (of) the way.| | ||||||
| 11 [2:136] | Qooloo amanna biAllahiwama onzila ilayna wama onzila ilaibraheema wa-ismaAAeela wa-ishaqawayaAAqooba waal-asbati wama ootiya moosawaAAeesa wama ootiya alnnabiyyoona minrabbihim la nufarriqu bayna ahadin minhum wanahnulahu muslimoona | قولوا آمنا بالله وما أنزل إلينا وما أنزل إلى إبراهيم وإسماعيل وإسحاق ويعقوب والأسباط وما أوتي موسى وعيسى وما أوتي النبيون من ربهم لا نفرق بين أحد منهم ونحن له مسلمون قُولُواْ آمَنَّا بِاللّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالأَسْبَاطِ وَمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَى وَعِيسَى وَمَا أُوتِيَ النَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لاَ نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |قولوا - Say,| آمنا - "We have believed| بالله - in Allah| وما - and what| أنزل - (is) revealed| إلينا - to us| وما - and what| أنزل - was revealed| إلى - to| إبراهيم - Ibrahim| وإسماعيل - and Ishmael| وإسحاق - and Isaac| ويعقوب - and Yaqub| والأسباط - and the descendants,| وما - and what| أوتي - was given| موسى - (to) Musa| وعيسى - and Isa| وما - and what| أوتي - was given| النبيون - (to) the Prophets| من - from| ربهم - their Lord.| لا - Not| نفرق - we make distinction| بين - between| أحد - any| منهم - of them.| ونحن - And we| له - to Him| مسلمون - (are) submissive."| | ||||||
| 12 [2:246] | Alam tara ila almala-i min banee isra-eelamin baAAdi moosa ith qaloo linabiyyin lahumuibAAath lana malikan nuqatil fee sabeeli Allahiqala hal AAasaytum in kutiba AAalaykumu alqitalualla tuqatiloo qaloo wama lanaalla nuqatila fee sabeeli Allahi waqadokhrijna min diyarina waabna-inafalamma kutiba AAalayhimu alqitalu tawallaw illaqaleelan minhum waAllahu AAaleemun bialththalimeena | ألم تر إلى الملإ من بني إسرائيل من بعد موسى إذ قالوا لنبي لهم ابعث لنا ملكا نقاتل في سبيل الله قال هل عسيتم إن كتب عليكم القتال ألا تقاتلوا قالوا وما لنا ألا نقاتل في سبيل الله وقد أخرجنا من ديارنا وأبنائنا فلما كتب عليهم القتال تولوا إلا قليلا منهم والله عليم بالظالمين أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الْمَلَإِ مِن بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مِن بَعْدِ مُوسَى إِذْ قَالُواْ لِنَبِيٍّ لَّهُمُ ابْعَثْ لَنَا مَلِكًا نُّقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ قَالَ هَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِن كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِتَالُ أَلاَّ تُقَاتِلُواْ قَالُواْ وَمَا لَنَا أَلاَّ نُقَاتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ وَقَدْ أُخْرِجْنَا مِن دِيَارِنَا وَأَبْنَآئِنَا فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقِتَالُ تَوَلَّوْاْ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً مِّنْهُمْ وَاللّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالظَّالِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |ألم - Did not| تر - you see| إلى - [towards]| الملإ - the chiefs| من - of| بني - (the) Children| إسرائيل - (of) Israel| من - from| بعد - after| موسى - Musa,| إذ - when| قالوا - they said| لنبي - to a Prophet| لهم - of theirs,| ابعث - "Appoint| لنا - for us| ملكا - a king,| نقاتل - we may fight| في - in| سبيل - (the) way| الله - (of) Allah?"| قال - He said,| هل - "Would| عسيتم - you perhaps -| إن - if| كتب - prescribed| عليكم - upon you| القتال - [the] fighting,| ألا - that not| تقاتلوا - you fight?"| قالوا - They said,| وما - "And what| لنا - for us| ألا - that not| نقاتل - we fight| في - in| سبيل - (the) way| الله - (of) Allah| وقد - while surely| أخرجنا - we have been driven| من - from| ديارنا - our homes| وأبنائنا - and our children?"| فلما - Yet, when| كتب - was prescribed| عليهم - upon them| القتال - the fighting| تولوا - they turned away,| إلا - except| قليلا - a few| منهم - among them.| والله - And Allah| عليم - (is) All-Knowing| بالظالمين - of the wrongdoers.| | ||||||
| 13 [2:248] | Waqala lahum nabiyyuhum inna ayatamulkihi an ya/tiyakumu alttabootu feehi sakeenatunmin rabbikum wabaqiyyatun mimma taraka alu moosawaalu haroona tahmiluhu almala-ikatuinna fee thalika laayatan lakum in kuntum mu/mineena | وقال لهم نبيهم إن آية ملكه أن يأتيكم التابوت فيه سكينة من ربكم وبقية مما ترك آل موسى وآل هارون تحمله الملائكة إن في ذلك لآية لكم إن كنتم مؤمنين وَقَالَ لَهُمْ نَبِيُّهُمْ إِنَّ آيَةَ مُلْكِهِ أَن يَأْتِيَكُمُ التَّابُوتُ فِيهِ سَكِينَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَبَقِيَّةٌ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ آلُ مُوسَى وَآلُ هَارُونَ تَحْمِلُهُ الْمَلآئِكَةُ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وقال - And said| لهم - to them| نبيهم - their Prophet,| إن - "Indeed,| آية - a sign| ملكه - (of) his kingship| أن - (is) that| يأتيكم - will come to you| التابوت - the ark,| فيه - in it| سكينة - (is) tranquility| من - from| ربكم - your Lord,| وبقية - and a remnant| مما - of what| ترك - (was) left| آل - (by the) family| موسى - (of) Musa| وآل - and family| هارون - (of) Harun| تحمله - will carry it| الملائكة - the Angels.| إن - Indeed,| في - in| ذلك - that| لآية - (is) surely a sign| لكم - for you| إن - if| كنتم - you are| مؤمنين - believers."| | ||||||
| 14 [3:84] | Qul amanna biAllahiwama onzila AAalayna wama onzila AAalaibraheema wa-ismaAAeela wa-ishaqawayaAAqooba waal-asbati wama ootiya moosawaAAeesa waalnnabiyyoona min rabbihim lanufarriqu bayna ahadin minhum wanahnu lahumuslimoona | قل آمنا بالله وما أنزل علينا وما أنزل على إبراهيم وإسماعيل وإسحاق ويعقوب والأسباط وما أوتي موسى وعيسى والنبيون من ربهم لا نفرق بين أحد منهم ونحن له مسلمون قُلْ آمَنَّا بِاللّهِ وَمَا أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنزِلَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالأَسْبَاطِ وَمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَى وَعِيسَى وَالنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لاَ نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ | |||||

| 15 [4:153] | Yas-aluka ahlu alkitabi an tunazzilaAAalayhim kitaban mina alssama-i faqadsaaloo moosa akbara min thalika faqaloo arinaAllaha jahratan faakhathat-humu alssaAAiqatubithulmihim thumma ittakhathoo alAAijla minbaAAdi ma jaat-humu albayyinatu faAAafawnaAAan thalika waatayna moosa sultananmubeenan | يسألك أهل الكتاب أن تنزل عليهم كتابا من السماء فقد سألوا موسى أكبر من ذلك فقالوا أرنا الله جهرة فأخذتهم الصاعقة بظلمهم ثم اتخذوا العجل من بعد ما جاءتهم البينات فعفونا عن ذلك وآتينا موسى سلطانا مبينا يَسْأَلُكَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ أَن تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ كِتَابًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ فَقَدْ سَأَلُواْ مُوسَى أَكْبَرَ مِن ذَلِكَ فَقَالُواْ أَرِنَا اللّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ بِظُلْمِهِمْ ثُمَّ اتَّخَذُواْ الْعِجْلَ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ فَعَفَوْنَا عَن ذَلِكَ وَآتَيْنَا مُوسَى سُلْطَانًا مُّبِينًا | |||||
| Words | |يسألك - Ask you| أهل - (the) People| الكتاب - (of) the Book| أن - that| تنزل - you bring down| عليهم - to them| كتابا - a book| من - from| السماء - the heaven.| فقد - Then indeed,| سألوا - they (had) asked| موسى - Musa| أكبر - greater| من - than| ذلك - that| فقالوا - for they said,| أرنا - "Show us| الله - Allah| جهرة - manifestly,"| فأخذتهم - so struck them| الصاعقة - the thunderbolt| بظلمهم - for their wrongdoing.| ثم - Then| اتخذوا - they took| العجل - the calf (for worship)| من - from| بعد - after| ما - [what]| جاءتهم - came to them| البينات - the clear proofs,| فعفونا - then We forgave them| عن - for| ذلك - that.| وآتينا - And We gave| موسى - Musa| سلطانا - an authority| مبينا - clear.| | ||||||
| 16 [4:164] | Warusulan qad qasasnahumAAalayka min qablu warusulan lam naqsushum AAalaykawakallama Allahu moosa takleeman | ورسلا قد قصصناهم عليك من قبل ورسلا لم نقصصهم عليك وكلم الله موسى تكليما وَرُسُلاً قَدْ قَصَصْنَاهُمْ عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَرُسُلاً لَّمْ نَقْصُصْهُمْ عَلَيْكَ وَكَلَّمَ اللّهُ مُوسَى تَكْلِيمًا | |||||

| 17 [5:20] | Wa-ith qala moosaliqawmihi ya qawmi othkuroo niAAmata AllahiAAalaykum ith jaAAala feekum anbiyaa wajaAAalakummulookan waatakum ma lam yu/ti ahadanmina alAAalameena | وإذ قال موسى لقومه يا قوم اذكروا نعمة الله عليكم إذ جعل فيكم أنبياء وجعلكم ملوكا وآتاكم ما لم يؤت أحدا من العالمين وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ اذْكُرُواْ نِعْمَةَ اللّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ جَعَلَ فِيكُمْ أَنبِيَاءَ وَجَعَلَكُم مُّلُوكًا وَآتَاكُم مَّا لَمْ يُؤْتِ أَحَدًا مِّنَ الْعَالَمِينَ | |||||

| 18 [5:22] | Qaloo ya moosa innafeeha qawman jabbareena wa-inna lannadkhulaha hatta yakhrujoo minhafa-in yakhrujoo minha fa-inna dakhiloona | قالوا يا موسى إن فيها قوما جبارين وإنا لن ندخلها حتى يخرجوا منها فإن يخرجوا منها فإنا داخلون قَالُوا يَا مُوسَى إِنَّ فِيهَا قَوْمًا جَبَّارِينَ وَإِنَّا لَن نَّدْخُلَهَا حَتَّى يَخْرُجُواْ مِنْهَا فَإِن يَخْرُجُواْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّا دَاخِلُونَ | |||||

| 19 [5:24] | Qaloo ya moosa innalan nadkhulaha abadan ma damoo feehafa-ithhab anta warabbuka faqatila innahahuna qaAAidoona | قالوا يا موسى إنا لن ندخلها أبدا ما داموا فيها فاذهب أنت وربك فقاتلا إنا هاهنا قاعدون قَالُواْ يَا مُوسَى إِنَّا لَن نَّدْخُلَهَا أَبَدًا مَّا دَامُواْ فِيهَا فَاذْهَبْ أَنتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَاتِلاَ إِنَّا هَاهُنَا قَاعِدُونَ | |||||

| 20 [6:91] | Wama qadaroo Allaha haqqaqadrihi ith qaloo ma anzala AllahuAAala basharin min shay-in qul man anzala alkitabaallathee jaa bihi moosa nooran wahudan lilnnasitajAAaloonahu qarateesa tubdoonaha watukhfoonakatheeran waAAullimtum ma lam taAAlamoo antum wala abaokumquli Allahu thumma tharhum fee khawdihimyalAAaboona | وما قدروا الله حق قدره إذ قالوا ما أنزل الله على بشر من شيء قل من أنزل الكتاب الذي جاء به موسى نورا وهدى للناس تجعلونه قراطيس تبدونها وتخفون كثيرا وعلمتم ما لم تعلموا أنتم ولا آباؤكم قل الله ثم ذرهم في خوضهم يلعبون وَمَا قَدَرُواْ اللّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ إِذْ قَالُواْ مَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ عَلَى بَشَرٍ مِّن شَيْءٍ قُلْ مَنْ أَنزَلَ الْكِتَابَ الَّذِي جَاءَ بِهِ مُوسَى نُورًا وَهُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ تَجْعَلُونَهُ قَرَاطِيسَ تُبْدُونَهَا وَتُخْفُونَ كَثِيرًا وَعُلِّمْتُم مَّا لَمْ تَعْلَمُواْ أَنتُمْ وَلاَ آبَاؤُكُمْ قُلِ اللّهُ ثُمَّ ذَرْهُمْ فِي خَوْضِهِمْ يَلْعَبُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وما - And not| قدروا - they appraised| الله - Allah| حق - (with) true| قدره - [of his] appraisal| إذ - when| قالوا - they said,| ما - "Not| أنزل - revealed| الله - (by) Allah| على - on| بشر - a human being| من - [of]| شيء - anything."| قل - Say,| من - "Who| أنزل - revealed| الكتاب - the Book| الذي - which| جاء - brought| به - [it]| موسى - Musa| نورا - (as) a light| وهدى - and guidance| للناس - for the people?| تجعلونه - You make it| قراطيس - (into) parchments,| تبدونها - you disclose (some of) it| وتخفون - and you conceal| كثيرا - much (of it).| وعلمتم - And you were taught| ما - what| لم - not| تعلموا - knew| أنتم - you| ولا - and not| آباؤكم - your forefathers."| قل - Say,| الله - "Allah (revealed it)."| ثم - Then| ذرهم - leave them| في - in| خوضهم - their discourse -| يلعبون - playing.| | ||||||
