| 1 [4:153] | Yas-aluka ahlu alkitabi an tunazzilaAAalayhim kitaban mina alssama-i faqadsaaloo moosa akbara min thalika faqaloo arinaAllaha jahratan faakhathat-humu alssaAAiqatubithulmihim thumma ittakhathoo alAAijla minbaAAdi ma jaat-humu albayyinatu faAAafawnaAAan thalika waatayna moosa sultananmubeenan |  يسألك أهل الكتاب أن تنزل عليهم كتابا من السماء فقد سألوا موسى أكبر من ذلك فقالوا أرنا الله جهرة فأخذتهم الصاعقة بظلمهم ثم اتخذوا العجل من بعد ما جاءتهم البينات فعفونا عن ذلك وآتينا موسى سلطانا مبينايَسْأَلُكَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ أَن تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ كِتَابًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ فَقَدْ سَأَلُواْ مُوسَى أَكْبَرَ مِن ذَلِكَ فَقَالُواْ أَرِنَا اللّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ بِظُلْمِهِمْ ثُمَّ اتَّخَذُواْ الْعِجْلَ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ فَعَفَوْنَا عَن ذَلِكَ وَآتَيْنَا مُوسَى سُلْطَانًا مُّبِينًا | |||||
| Words | |يسألك - Ask you| أهل - (the) People| الكتاب - (of) the Book| أن - that| تنزل - you bring down| عليهم - to them| كتابا - a book| من - from| السماء - the heaven.| فقد - Then indeed,| سألوا - they (had) asked| موسى - Musa| أكبر - greater| من - than| ذلك - that| فقالوا - for they said,| أرنا - "Show us| الله - Allah| جهرة - manifestly,"| فأخذتهم - so struck them| الصاعقة - the thunderbolt| بظلمهم - for their wrongdoing.| ثم - Then| اتخذوا - they took| العجل - the calf (for worship)| من - from| بعد - after| ما - [what]| جاءتهم - came to them| البينات - the clear proofs,| فعفونا - then We forgave them| عن - for| ذلك - that.| وآتينا - And We gave| موسى - Musa| سلطانا - an authority| مبينا - clear.| | ||||||
| 2 [6:27] | Walaw tara ith wuqifoo AAalaalnnari faqaloo ya laytananuraddu wala nukaththiba bi-ayatirabbina wanakoona mina almu/mineena | ولو ترى إذ وقفوا على النار فقالوا يا ليتنا نرد ولا نكذب بآيات ربنا ونكون من المؤمنين وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذْ وُقِفُواْ عَلَى النَّارِ فَقَالُواْ يَا لَيْتَنَا نُرَدُّ وَلاَ نُكَذِّبَ بِآيَاتِ رَبِّنَا وَنَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Words | |ولو - And if| ترى - you (could) see| إذ - when| وقفوا - they are made to stand| على - by| النار - the Fire| فقالوا - then they (will) say,| يا - O| ليتنا - "Oh! Would that we| نرد - were sent back| ولا - and not| نكذب - we would deny| بآيات - (the) Signs| ربنا - (of) our Lord| ونكون - and we would be| من - among| المؤمنين - the believers."| | ||||||
| 3 [6:136] | WajaAAaloo lillahi mimma tharaamina alharthi waal-anAAami naseebanfaqaloo hatha lillahi bizaAAmihim wahathalishuraka-ina fama kana lishuraka-ihimfala yasilu ila Allahi wama kanalillahi fahuwa yasilu ila shuraka-ihimsaa ma yahkumoona | وجعلوا لله مما ذرأ من الحرث والأنعام نصيبا فقالوا هذا لله بزعمهم وهذا لشركائنا فما كان لشركائهم فلا يصل إلى الله وما كان لله فهو يصل إلى شركائهم ساء ما يحكمون وَجَعَلُواْ لِلّهِ مِمِّا ذَرَأَ مِنَ الْحَرْثِ وَالْأَنْعَامِ نَصِيبًا فَقَالُواْ هَـذَا لِلّهِ بِزَعْمِهِمْ وَهَـذَا لِشُرَكَآئِنَا فَمَا كَانَ لِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ فَلاَ يَصِلُ إِلَى اللّهِ وَمَا كَانَ لِلّهِ فَهُوَ يَصِلُ إِلَى شُرَكَآئِهِمْ سَاءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وجعلوا - And they assign| لله - to Allah| مما - out of what| ذرأ - He produced| من - of| الحرث - the crops| والأنعام - and the cattle| نصيبا - a share| فقالوا - and they say,| هذا - "This| لله - (is) for Allah,"| بزعمهم - by their claim,| وهذا - "And this| لشركائنا - (is) for our partners."| فما - But what| كان - is| لشركائهم - for their partners| فلا - (does) not| يصل - reach| إلى - [to]| الله - Allah,| وما - while what| كان - is| لله - for Allah| فهو - then it| يصل - reaches| إلى - [to]| شركائهم - their partners.| ساء - Evil| ما - (is) what| يحكمون - they judge.| | ||||||
| 4 [10:85] | Faqaloo AAala Allahitawakkalna rabbana la tajAAalnafitnatan lilqawmi alththalimeena | فقالوا على الله توكلنا ربنا لا تجعلنا فتنة للقوم الظالمين فَقَالُواْ عَلَى اللّهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا رَبَّنَا لاَ تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِّلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فقالوا - Then they said,| على - "Upon| الله - Allah| توكلنا - we put our trust.| ربنا - Our Lord!| لا - (Do) not| تجعلنا - make us| فتنة - a trial| للقوم - for the people -| الظالمين - the wrongdoers.| | ||||||
| 5 [15:52] | Ith dakhaloo AAalayhi faqaloosalaman qala inna minkum wajiloona | إذ دخلوا عليه فقالوا سلاما قال إنا منكم وجلون إِذْ دَخَلُواْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُواْ سَلاَمًا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |إذ - When| دخلوا - they entered| عليه - upon him| فقالوا - and said,| سلاما - "Peace."| قال - He said,| إنا - "Indeed, we| منكم - (are) of you| وجلون - afraid."| | ||||||
| 6 [18:10] | Ith awa alfityatu ilaalkahfi faqaloo rabbana atina minladunka rahmatan wahayyi/ lana min amrinarashadan | إذ أوى الفتية إلى الكهف فقالوا ربنا آتنا من لدنك رحمة وهيئ لنا من أمرنا رشدا إِذْ أَوَى الْفِتْيَةُ إِلَى الْكَهْفِ فَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا | |||||
| Words | |إذ - When| أوى - retreated| الفتية - the youths| إلى - to| الكهف - the cave,| فقالوا - and they said,| ربنا - "Our Lord!| آتنا - Grant us| من - from| لدنك - Yourself| رحمة - Mercy,| وهيئ - and facilitate| لنا - for us| من - [from]| أمرنا - our affair| رشدا - (in the) right way."| | ||||||
| 7 [18:14] | Warabatna AAalaquloobihim ith qamoo faqaloo rabbunarabbu alssamawati waal-ardilan nadAAuwa min doonihi ilahan laqad qulna ithanshatatan | وربطنا على قلوبهم إذ قاموا فقالوا ربنا رب السماوات والأرض لن ندعو من دونه إلها لقد قلنا إذا شططا وَرَبَطْنَا عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ إِذْ قَامُوا فَقَالُوا رَبُّنَا رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ لَن نَّدْعُوَاْ مِن دُونِهِ إِلَهًا لَّقَدْ قُلْنَا إِذًا شَطَطًا | |||||
| Words | |وربطنا - And We made firm| على - [on]| قلوبهم - their hearts| إذ - when| قاموا - they stood up| فقالوا - and said,| ربنا - "Our Lord| رب - (is) the Lord| السماوات - (of) the heavens| والأرض - and the earth.| لن - Never| ندعو - we will invoke| من - besides Him| دونه - besides Him| إلها - any god.| لقد - Certainly,| قلنا - we would have said,| إذا - then,| شططا - an enormity.| | ||||||
| 8 [18:21] | Wakathalika aAAtharnaAAalayhim liyaAAlamoo anna waAAda Allahi haqqunwaanna alsaAAata la rayba feeha ithyatanazaAAoona baynahum amrahum faqaloo ibnooAAalayhim bunyanan rabbuhum aAAlamu bihim qala allatheenaghalaboo AAala amrihim lanattakhithanna AAalayhimmasjidan | وكذلك أعثرنا عليهم ليعلموا أن وعد الله حق وأن الساعة لا ريب فيها إذ يتنازعون بينهم أمرهم فقالوا ابنوا عليهم بنيانا ربهم أعلم بهم قال الذين غلبوا على أمرهم لنتخذن عليهم مسجدا وَكَذَلِكَ أَعْثَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ لِيَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَأَنَّ السَّاعَةَ لاَ رَيْبَ فِيهَا إِذْ يَتَنَازَعُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ أَمْرَهُمْ فَقَالُوا ابْنُوا عَلَيْهِم بُنْيَانًا رَّبُّهُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِهِمْ قَالَ الَّذِينَ غَلَبُوا عَلَى أَمْرِهِمْ لَنَتَّخِذَنَّ عَلَيْهِم مَّسْجِدًا | |||||
| Words | |وكذلك - And similarly,| أعثرنا - We made known| عليهم - about them| ليعلموا - that they might know| أن - that| وعد - (the) Promise| الله - (of) Allah| حق - (is) true,| وأن - and that| الساعة - (about) the Hour| لا - (there is) no| ريب - doubt| فيها - in it.| إذ - When| يتنازعون - they disputed| بينهم - among themselves| أمرهم - about their affair| فقالوا - and they said,| ابنوا - "Construct| عليهم - over them| بنيانا - a structure.| ربهم - Their Lord| أعلم - knows best| بهم - about them."| قال - Said| الذين - those who| غلبوا - prevailed| على - in| أمرهم - their matter,| لنتخذن - "Surely we will take| عليهم - over them| مسجدا - a place of worship."| | ||||||
| 9 [20:88] | Faakhraja lahum AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarunfaqaloo hatha ilahukum wa-ilahu moosafanasiya | فأخرج لهم عجلا جسدا له خوار فقالوا هذا إلهكم وإله موسى فنسي فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَهُ خُوَارٌ فَقَالُوا هَذَا إِلَهُكُمْ وَإِلَهُ مُوسَى فَنَسِيَ | |||||
| Words | |فأخرج - Then he brought forth| لهم - for them| عجلا - a calf's| جسدا - body| له - it had| خوار - a lowing sound,| فقالوا - and they said,| هذا - "This| إلهكم - (is) your god| وإله - and the god| موسى - (of) Musa,| فنسي - but he forgot."| | ||||||
| 10 [21:64] | FarajaAAoo ila anfusihim faqalooinnakum antumu alththalimoona | فرجعوا إلى أنفسهم فقالوا إنكم أنتم الظالمون فَرَجَعُوا إِلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوا إِنَّكُمْ أَنتُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فرجعوا - So they returned| إلى - to| أنفسهم - themselves| فقالوا - and said,| إنكم - "Indeed, you| أنتم - [you]| الظالمون - (are) the wrongdoers."| | ||||||
| 11 [23:47] | Faqaloo anu/minu libasharayni mithlinawaqawmuhuma lana AAabidoona | فقالوا أنؤمن لبشرين مثلنا وقومهما لنا عابدون فَقَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَابِدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فقالوا - Then they said,| أنؤمن - "Shall we believe| لبشرين - (in) two men| مثلنا - like ourselves| وقومهما - while their people| لنا - for us| عابدون - (are) slaves."| | ||||||
| 12 [34:19] | Faqaloo rabbana baAAidbayna asfarina wathalamoo anfusahumfajaAAalnahum ahadeetha wamazzaqnahum kullamumazzaqin inna fee thalika laayatin likullisabbarin shakoorin | فقالوا ربنا باعد بين أسفارنا وظلموا أنفسهم فجعلناهم أحاديث ومزقناهم كل ممزق إن في ذلك لآيات لكل صبار شكور فَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا بَاعِدْ بَيْنَ أَسْفَارِنَا وَظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ وَمَزَّقْنَاهُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ | |||||
| Words | |فقالوا - But they said,| ربنا - "Our Lord| باعد - lengthen (the distance)| بين - between| أسفارنا - our journeys."| وظلموا - And they wronged| أنفسهم - themselves,| فجعلناهم - so We made them| أحاديث - narrations| ومزقناهم - and We dispersed them| كل - (in) a total| ممزق - dispersion.| إن - Indeed,| في - in| ذلك - that| لآيات - surely (are) Signs| لكل - for everyone,| صبار - patient| شكور - (and) grateful.| | ||||||
| 13 [36:14] | Ith arsalna ilayhimu ithnaynifakaththaboohuma faAAazzazna bithalithinfaqaloo inna ilaykum mursaloona | إذ أرسلنا إليهم اثنين فكذبوهما فعززنا بثالث فقالوا إنا إليكم مرسلون إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ اثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |إذ - When| أرسلنا - We sent| إليهم - to them| اثنين - two (Messengers)| فكذبوهما - but they denied both of them,| فعززنا - so We strengthened them| بثالث - with a third,| فقالوا - and they said,| إنا - "Indeed, We| إليكم - to you| مرسلون - (are) Messengers."| | ||||||
| 14 [40:24] | Ila firAAawna wahamanawaqaroona faqaloo sahirun kaththabun | إلى فرعون وهامان وقارون فقالوا ساحر كذاب إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ وَقَارُونَ فَقَالُوا سَاحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ | |||||
| Words | |إلى - To| فرعون - Firaun,| وهامان - Haman| وقارون - and Qarun,| فقالوا - but they said,| ساحر - "A magician,| كذاب - a liar."| | ||||||
| 15 [51:25] | Ith dakhaloo AAalayhi faqaloosalaman qala salamun qawmun munkaroona | إذ دخلوا عليه فقالوا سلاما قال سلام قوم منكرون إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا سَلَامًا قَالَ سَلَامٌ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |إذ - When| دخلوا - they entered| عليه - upon him| فقالوا - and said,| سلاما - "Peace."| قال - He said,| سلام - "Peace,| قوم - a people| منكرون - unknown."| | ||||||
| 16 [54:24] | Faqaloo abasharan minna wahidannattabiAAuhu inna ithan lafee dalalinwasuAAurin | فقالوا أبشرا منا واحدا نتبعه إنا إذا لفي ضلال وسعر فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرًا مِّنَّا وَاحِدًا نَّتَّبِعُهُ إِنَّا إِذًا لَّفِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ | |||||
| Words | |فقالوا - And said,| أبشرا - "Is (it) a human being| منا - among us| واحدا - one,| نتبعه - (that) we should follow him?| إنا - Indeed, we| إذا - then| لفي - (will be) surely in| ضلال - error| وسعر - and madness.| | ||||||
| 17 [64:6] | Thalika bi-annahu kanatta/teehim rusuluhum bialbayyinati faqalooabasharun yahdoonana fakafaroo watawallaw waistaghnaAllahu waAllahu ghaniyyun hameedun | ذلك بأنه كانت تأتيهم رسلهم بالبينات فقالوا أبشر يهدوننا فكفروا وتولوا واستغنى الله والله غني حميد ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُ كَانَت تَّأْتِيهِمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرٌ يَهْدُونَنَا فَكَفَرُوا وَتَوَلَّوا وَّاسْتَغْنَى اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ غَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌ | |||||
| Words | |ذلك - That| بأنه - (is) because| كانت - had| تأتيهم - come to them| رسلهم - their Messengers| بالبينات - with clear proofs,| فقالوا - but they said,| أبشر - "Shall human beings| يهدوننا - guide us?"| فكفروا - So they disbelieved| وتولوا - and turned away.| واستغنى - And can do without them| الله - Allah.| والله - And Allah| غني - (is) Self-sufficient,| حميد - Praiseworthy.| | ||||||
| 18 [72:1] | Qul oohiya ilayya annahu istamaAAanafarun mina aljinni faqaloo inna samiAAnaqur-anan AAajaban | قل أوحي إلي أنه استمع نفر من الجن فقالوا إنا سمعنا قرآنا عجبا قُلْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ اسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْآنًا عَجَبًا | |||||
| Words | |قل - Say,| أوحي - "It has been revealed| إلي - to me| أنه - that| استمع - listened| نفر - a group| من - of| الجن - the jinn,| فقالوا - and they said,| إنا - "Indeed, we| سمعنا - heard| قرآنا - a Quran| عجبا - amazing,| | ||||||
