| 1 [2:83] | Wa-ith akhathna meethaqabanee isra-eela la taAAbudoona illa Allahawabialwalidayni ihsanan watheealqurba waalyatama waalmasakeeniwaqooloo lilnnasi husnan waaqeemoo alssalatawaatoo alzzakata thumma tawallaytum illaqaleelan minkum waantum muAAridoona |  وإذ أخذنا ميثاق بني إسرائيل لا تعبدون إلا الله وبالوالدين إحسانا وذي القربى واليتامى والمساكين وقولوا للناس حسنا وأقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة ثم توليتم إلا قليلا منكم وأنتم معرضونوَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَ بَنِىْ إِسْرَائِيلَ لاَ تَعْبُدُونَ إِلاَّ اللّهَ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَاناً وَّذِي الْقُرْبَى وَالْيَتَامَى وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَقُولُواْ لِلنَّاسِ حُسْناً وَّأَقِيمُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتُواْ الزَّكَاةَ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ إِلاَّ قَلِيْلاً مِّنكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ مُّعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| أخذنا - We took| ميثاق - (the) covenant| بني - (from the) Children| إسرائيل - (of) Israel,| لا - "Not| تعبدون - you will worship| إلا - except| الله - Allah,| وبالوالدين - and with [the] parents| إحسانا - (be) good| وذي - and (with)| القربى - relatives| واليتامى - and [the] orphans| والمساكين - and the needy,| وقولوا - and speak| للناس - to [the] people| حسنا - good,| وأقيموا - and establish| الصلاة - the prayer| وآتوا - and give| الزكاة - the zakah."| ثم - Then| توليتم - you turned away,| إلا - except| قليلا - a few| منكم - of you,| وأنتم - and you (were)| معرضون - refusing.| | ||||||
| 2 [2:133] | Am kuntum shuhadaa ith hadarayaAAqooba almawtu ith qala libaneehi mataAAbudoona min baAAdee qaloo naAAbudu ilahakawa-ilaha aba-ika ibraheema wa-ismaAAeelawa-ishaqa ilahan wahidan wanahnu lahumuslimoona | أم كنتم شهداء إذ حضر يعقوب الموت إذ قال لبنيه ما تعبدون من بعدي قالوا نعبد إلهك وإله آبائك إبراهيم وإسماعيل وإسحاق إلها واحدا ونحن له مسلمون أَمْ كُنتُمْ شُهَدَاءَ إِذْ حَضَرَ يَعْقُوبَ الْمَوْتُ إِذْ قَالَ لِبَنِيهِ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن بَعْدِي قَالُواْ نَعْبُدُ إِلَـهَكَ وَإِلَـهَ آبَائِكَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَقَ إِلَـهًا وَاحِدًا وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |أم - Or| كنتم - were you| شهداء - witnesses| إذ - when| حضر - came to| يعقوب - Yaqub| الموت - [the] death,| إذ - when| قال - he said| لبنيه - to his sons,| ما - "What| تعبدون - will you worship| من - from| بعدي - after me?"| قالوا - They said,| نعبد - "We will worship| إلهك - your God| وإله - and (the) God| آبائك - (of) your forefathers,| إبراهيم - Ibrahim| وإسماعيل - and Ishmael| وإسحاق - and Isaac -| إلها - God| واحدا - One.| ونحن - And we| له - to Him| مسلمون - (are) submissive."| | ||||||
| 3 [2:172] | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanookuloo min tayyibati ma razaqnakum waoshkuroolillahi in kuntum iyyahu taAAbudoona | يا أيها الذين آمنوا كلوا من طيبات ما رزقناكم واشكروا لله إن كنتم إياه تعبدون يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ كُلُواْ مِن طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ وَاشْكُرُواْ لِلّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |يا - O| أيها - O you| الذين - who| آمنوا - believe[d]!| كلوا - Eat| من - from| طيبات - (the) good| ما - (of) what| رزقناكم - We have provided you| واشكروا - and be grateful| لله - to Allah| إن - if| كنتم - you| إياه - alone| تعبدون - worship Him.| | ||||||
| 4 [10:28] | Wayawma nahshuruhum jameeAAan thummanaqoolu lillatheena ashrakoo makanakum antumwashurakaokum fazayyalna baynahum waqalashurakaohum ma kuntum iyyanataAAbudoona | ويوم نحشرهم جميعا ثم نقول للذين أشركوا مكانكم أنتم وشركاؤكم فزيلنا بينهم وقال شركاؤهم ما كنتم إيانا تعبدون وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ نَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ مَكَانَكُمْ أَنتُمْ وَشُرَكَآؤُكُمْ فَزَيَّلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ وَقَالَ شُرَكَآؤُهُم مَّا كُنتُمْ إِيَّانَا تَعْبُدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ويوم - And (the) Day| نحشرهم - We will gather them| جميعا - all together,| ثم - then| نقول - We will say| للذين - to those who| أشركوا - associate partners (with Allah),| مكانكم - "(Remain in) your place| أنتم - you| وشركاؤكم - and your partners."| فزيلنا - Then We will separate| بينهم - [between] them,| وقال - and (will) say| شركاؤهم - their partners,| ما - "Not| كنتم - you used (to)| إيانا - worship us."| تعبدون - worship us."| | ||||||
| 5 [10:104] | Qul ya ayyuha alnnasuin kuntum fee shakkin min deenee fala aAAbudu allatheenataAAbudoona min dooni Allahi walakin aAAbudu Allahaallathee yatawaffakum waomirtu an akoona minaalmu/mineena | قل يا أيها الناس إن كنتم في شك من ديني فلا أعبد الذين تعبدون من دون الله ولكن أعبد الله الذي يتوفاكم وأمرت أن أكون من المؤمنين قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِّن دِينِي فَلاَ أَعْبُدُ الَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللّهِ وَلَـكِنْ أَعْبُدُ اللّهَ الَّذِي يَتَوَفَّاكُمْ وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Words | |قل - Say,| يا - O| أيها - "O mankind!| الناس - "O mankind!| إن - If| كنتم - you are| في - in| شك - doubt| من - of| ديني - my religion,| فلا - then not| أعبد - I worship| الذين - those whom| تعبدون - you worship| من - besides Allah,| دون - besides Allah,| الله - besides Allah,| ولكن - but| أعبد - I worship| الله - Allah,| الذي - the One Who| يتوفاكم - causes you to die.| وأمرت - And I am commanded| أن - that| أكون - I be| من - of| المؤمنين - the believers."| | ||||||
| 6 [12:40] | Ma taAAbudoona min doonihi illaasmaan sammaytumooha antum waabaokumma anzala Allahu biha min sultaninini alhukmu illa lillahi amara allataAAbudoo illa iyyahu thalika alddeenualqayyimu walakinna akthara alnnasi layaAAlamoona | ما تعبدون من دونه إلا أسماء سميتموها أنتم وآباؤكم ما أنزل الله بها من سلطان إن الحكم إلا لله أمر ألا تعبدوا إلا إياه ذلك الدين القيم ولكن أكثر الناس لا يعلمون مَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِهِ إِلاَّ أَسْمَاءً سَمَّيْتُمُوهَا أَنتُمْ وَآبَآؤُكُم مَّا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَانٍ إِنِ الْحُكْمُ إِلاَّ لِلّهِ أَمَرَ أَلاَّ تَعْبُدُواْ إِلاَّ إِيَّاهُ ذَلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ وَلَـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ما - Not| تعبدون - you worship| من - besides Him| دونه - besides Him| إلا - but| أسماء - names| سميتموها - which you have named them,| أنتم - you| وآباؤكم - and your forefathers,| ما - not| أنزل - (has) sent down| الله - Allah| بها - for it| من - any| سلطان - authority.| إن - Not| الحكم - (is) the command| إلا - but| لله - for Allah.| أمر - He has commanded| ألا - that not| تعبدوا - you worship| إلا - but| إياه - Him Alone.| ذلك - That| الدين - (is) the religion| القيم - the right,| ولكن - but| أكثر - most| الناس - [the] men| لا - (do) not| يعلمون - know.| | ||||||
| 7 [16:114] | Fakuloo mimma razaqakumu Allahuhalalan tayyiban waoshkuroo niAAmataAllahi in kuntum iyyahu taAAbudoona | فكلوا مما رزقكم الله حلالا طيبا واشكروا نعمت الله إن كنتم إياه تعبدون فَكُلُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللّهُ حَلاَلاً طَيِّبًا وَاشْكُرُواْ نِعْمَتَ اللّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فكلوا - So eat| مما - of what| رزقكم - Allah has provided you -| الله - Allah has provided you -| حلالا - lawful| طيبا - and good.| واشكروا - And be grateful| نعمت - (for the) Favor| الله - (of) Allah,| إن - if| كنتم - [you]| إياه - Him Alone| تعبدون - you worship.| | ||||||
| 8 [21:67] | Offin lakum walima taAAbudoona mindooni Allahi afala taAAqiloona | أف لكم ولما تعبدون من دون الله أفلا تعقلون أُفٍّ لَّكُمْ وَلِمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |أف - Uff| لكم - to you| ولما - and to what| تعبدون - you worship| من - besides| دون - besides| الله - Allah.| أفلا - Then will not| تعقلون - you use reason?"| | ||||||
| 9 [21:98] | Innakum wama taAAbudoona min dooniAllahi hasabu jahannama antum laha waridoona | إنكم وما تعبدون من دون الله حصب جهنم أنتم لها واردون إِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنتُمْ لَهَا وَارِدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |إنكم - Indeed, you| وما - and what| تعبدون - you worship| من - besides Allah| دون - besides Allah| الله - besides Allah| حصب - (are) firewood| جهنم - (of) Hell.| أنتم - You| لها - to it| واردون - will come.| | ||||||
| 10 [26:70] | Ith qala li-abeehi waqawmihi mataAAbudoona | إذ قال لأبيه وقومه ما تعبدون إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ | |||||

| 11 [26:75] | Qala afaraaytum ma kuntumtaAAbudoona | قال أفرأيتم ما كنتم تعبدون قَالَ أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |قال - He said,| أفرأيتم - "Do you see| ما - what| كنتم - you have been| تعبدون - worshipping,| | ||||||
| 12 [26:92] | Waqeela lahum ayna ma kuntumtaAAbudoona | وقيل لهم أين ما كنتم تعبدون وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وقيل - And it will be said| لهم - to them,| أين - "Where| ما - (is) that| كنتم - you used| تعبدون - (to) worship| | ||||||
| 13 [29:17] | Innama taAAbudoona min dooni Allahiawthanan watakhluqoona ifkan inna allatheenataAAbudoona min dooni Allahi la yamlikoona lakumrizqan faibtaghoo AAinda Allahi alrrizqa waoAAbudoohuwaoshkuroo lahu ilayhi turjaAAoona | إنما تعبدون من دون الله أوثانا وتخلقون إفكا إن الذين تعبدون من دون الله لا يملكون لكم رزقا فابتغوا عند الله الرزق واعبدوه واشكروا له إليه ترجعون إِنَّمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْثَانًا وَتَخْلُقُونَ إِفْكًا إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لَكُمْ رِزْقًا فَابْتَغُوا عِندَ اللَّهِ الرِّزْقَ وَاعْبُدُوهُ وَاشْكُرُوا لَهُ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ | |||||
| Words | |إنما - Only| تعبدون - you worship| من - besides| دون - besides| الله - Allah| أوثانا - idols,| وتخلقون - and you create| إفكا - falsehood.| إن - Indeed,| الذين - those whom| تعبدون - you worship| من - besides| دون - besides| الله - Allah| لا - (do) not| يملكون - possess| لكم - for you| رزقا - any provision.| فابتغوا - So seek| عند - from| الله - Allah| الرزق - the provision| واعبدوه - and worship Him| واشكروا - and be grateful| له - to Him.| إليه - To Him| ترجعون - you will be returned.| | ||||||
| 14 [37:85] | Ith qala li-abeehi waqawmihi mathataAAbudoona | إذ قال لأبيه وقومه ماذا تعبدون إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ | |||||

| 16 [41:37] | Wamin ayatihi allaylu waalnnaharuwaalshshamsu waalqamaru la tasjudoo lilshshamsiwala lilqamari waosjudoo lillahi alatheekhalaqahunna in kuntum iyyahu taAAbudoona | ومن آياته الليل والنهار والشمس والقمر لا تسجدوا للشمس ولا للقمر واسجدوا لله الذي خلقهن إن كنتم إياه تعبدون وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ وَالشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ لَا تَسْجُدُوا لِلشَّمْسِ وَلَا لِلْقَمَرِ وَاسْجُدُوا لِلَّهِ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُنَّ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ومن - And of| آياته - His Signs| الليل - (are) the night| والنهار - and the day| والشمس - and the sun| والقمر - and the moon.| لا - (Do) not| تسجدوا - prostrate| للشمس - to the sun| ولا - and not| للقمر - to the moon,| واسجدوا - but prostrate| لله - to Allah| الذي - the One Who| خلقهن - created them,| إن - if| كنتم - you,| إياه - Him alone,| تعبدون - worship.| | ||||||
| 17 [43:26] | Wa-ith qala ibraheemuli-abeehi waqawmihi innanee baraon mimma taAAbudoona | وإذ قال إبراهيم لأبيه وقومه إنني براء مما تعبدون وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ إِنَّنِي بَرَاءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قال - Ibrahim Said| إبراهيم - Ibrahim Said| لأبيه - to his father| وقومه - and his people,| إنني - "Indeed, I (am)| براء - disassociated| مما - from what| تعبدون - you worship| | ||||||
| 18 [60:4] | Qad kanat lakum oswatun hasanatunfee ibraheema waallatheena maAAahu ithqaloo liqawmihim inna buraao minkum wamimmataAAbudoona min dooni Allahi kafarna bikum wabadabaynana wabaynakumu alAAadawatu waalbaghdaoabadan hatta tu/minoo biAllahi wahdahuilla qawla ibraheema li-abeehi laastaghfiranna lakawama amliku laka mina Allahi min shay-in rabbanaAAalayka tawakkalna wa-ilayka anabna wa-ilayka almaseeru | قد كانت لكم أسوة حسنة في إبراهيم والذين معه إذ قالوا لقومهم إنا برآء منكم ومما تعبدون من دون الله كفرنا بكم وبدا بيننا وبينكم العداوة والبغضاء أبدا حتى تؤمنوا بالله وحده إلا قول إبراهيم لأبيه لأستغفرن لك وما أملك لك من الله من شيء ربنا عليك توكلنا وإليك أنبنا وإليك المصير قَدْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ فِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ إِذْ قَالُوا لِقَوْمِهِمْ إِنَّا بُرَءَاؤُا مِنكُمْ وَمِمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ كَفَرْنَا بِكُمْ وَبَدَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ الْعَدَاوَةُ وَالْبَغْضَاءُ أَبَدًا حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ إِلَّا قَوْلَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ لَأَسْتَغْفِرَنَّ لَكَ وَمَا أَمْلِكُ لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِن شَيْءٍ رَّبَّنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ | |||||
| Words | |قد - Indeed,| كانت - (there) is| لكم - for you| أسوة - an example| حسنة - good| في - in| إبراهيم - Ibrahim| والذين - and those| معه - with him,| إذ - when| قالوا - they said| لقومهم - to their people,| إنا - "Indeed, we| برآء - (are) disassociated| منكم - from you| ومما - and from what| تعبدون - you worship| من - from| دون - besides| الله - Allah.| كفرنا - We have denied| بكم - you,| وبدا - and has appeared| بيننا - between us| وبينكم - and between you| العداوة - enmity| والبغضاء - and hatred| أبدا - forever| حتى - until| تؤمنوا - you believe| بالله - in Allah| وحده - Alone."| إلا - Except| قول - (the) saying| إبراهيم - (of) Ibrahim| لأبيه - to his father,| لأستغفرن - "Surely I ask forgiveness| لك - for you,| وما - but not| أملك - I have power| لك - for you| من - from| الله - Allah| من - of| شيء - anything.| ربنا - Our Lord,| عليك - upon You| توكلنا - we put our trust,| وإليك - and to You| أنبنا - we turn,| وإليك - and to You| المصير - (is) the final return.| | ||||||
| 19 [109:2] | La aAAbudu ma taAAbudoona | لا أعبد ما تعبدون لَا أَعْبُدُ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ | |||||
