| 1 [2:170] | Wa-itha qeela lahumu ittabiAAoo maanzala Allahu qaloo bal nattabiAAu ma alfaynaAAalayhi abaana awa law kana abaohumla yaAAqiloona shay-an wala yahtadoona |  وإذا قيل لهم اتبعوا ما أنزل الله قالوا بل نتبع ما ألفينا عليه آباءنا أولو كان آباؤهم لا يعقلون شيئا ولا يهتدونوَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوا مَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ قَالُواْ بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا أَلْفَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا أَوَلَوْ كَانَ آبَاؤُهُمْ لاَ يَعْقِلُونَ شَيْئاً وَلاَ يَهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| قيل - it is said| لهم - to them,| اتبعوا - "Follow| ما - what| أنزل - has revealed| الله - Allah,"| قالوا - they said,| بل - "Nay| نتبع - we follow| ما - what| ألفينا - we found| عليه - [on it]| آباءنا - our forefathers (following)".| أولو - Even though| كان - [were]| آباؤهم - their forefathers| لا - (did) not| يعقلون - understand| شيئا - anything| ولا - and not| يهتدون - were they guided?| | ||||||
| 2 [4:98] | Illa almustadAAafeena mina alrrijaliwaalnnisa-i waalwildani layastateeAAoona heelatan wala yahtadoonasabeelan | إلا المستضعفين من الرجال والنساء والولدان لا يستطيعون حيلة ولا يهتدون سبيلا إِلاَّ الْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاءِ وَالْوِلْدَانِ لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ حِيلَةً وَلاَ يَهْتَدُونَ سَبِيلاً | |||||
| Words | |إلا - Except| المستضعفين - the oppressed| من - among| الرجال - the men| والنساء - and the women| والولدان - and the children| لا - (who) not| يستطيعون - are able to| حيلة - plan| ولا - and not| يهتدون - they are directed| سبيلا - (to) a way.| | ||||||
| 3 [5:104] | Wa-itha qeela lahum taAAalawila ma anzala Allahu wa-ila alrrasooliqaloo hasbuna ma wajadnaAAalayhi abaana awa law kana abaohumla yaAAlamoona shay-an wala yahtadoona | وإذا قيل لهم تعالوا إلى ما أنزل الله وإلى الرسول قالوا حسبنا ما وجدنا عليه آباءنا أولو كان آباؤهم لا يعلمون شيئا ولا يهتدون وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْاْ إِلَى مَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ وَإِلَى الرَّسُولِ قَالُواْ حَسْبُنَا مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا أَوَلَوْ كَانَ آبَاؤُهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا وَلاَ يَهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| قيل - it is said| لهم - to them,| تعالوا - "Come| إلى - to| ما - what| أنزل - has (been) revealed| الله - (by) Allah| وإلى - and to| الرسول - the Messenger,"| قالوا - they said,| حسبنا - "Sufficient for us| ما - (is) what| وجدنا - we found| عليه - upon it| آباءنا - our forefathers."| أولو - Even though| كان - (that)| آباؤهم - their forefathers| لا - (were) not| يعلمون - knowing| شيئا - anything| ولا - and not| يهتدون - they (were) guided?| | ||||||
| 4 [16:16] | WaAAalamatin wabialnnajmihum yahtadoona | وعلامات وبالنجم هم يهتدون وَعَلامَاتٍ وَبِالنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وعلامات - And landmarks.| وبالنجم - And by the stars| هم - they| يهتدون - guide themselves.| | ||||||
| 5 [21:31] | WajaAAalna fee al-ardi rawasiyaan tameeda bihim wajaAAalna feeha fijajansubulan laAAallahum yahtadoona | وجعلنا في الأرض رواسي أن تميد بهم وجعلنا فيها فجاجا سبلا لعلهم يهتدون وَجَعَلْنَا فِي الْأَرْضِ رَوَاسِيَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجًا سُبُلًا لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وجعلنا - And We (have) placed| في - in| الأرض - the earth| رواسي - firmly set mountains,| أن - lest| تميد - it (should) shake| بهم - with them,| وجعلنا - and We made| فيها - therein| فجاجا - broad passes| سبلا - (as) ways,| لعلهم - so that they may| يهتدون - (be) guided.| | ||||||
| 6 [23:49] | Walaqad atayna moosaalkitaba laAAallahum yahtadoona | ولقد آتينا موسى الكتاب لعلهم يهتدون وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولقد - And verily,| آتينا - We gave| موسى - Musa| الكتاب - the Scripture| لعلهم - so that they may| يهتدون - be guided.| | ||||||
| 7 [27:24] | Wajadtuha waqawmaha yasjudoonalilshshamsi min dooni Allahi wazayyana lahumu alshshaytanuaAAmalahum fasaddahum AAani alssabeeli fahumla yahtadoona | وجدتها وقومها يسجدون للشمس من دون الله وزين لهم الشيطان أعمالهم فصدهم عن السبيل فهم لا يهتدون وَجَدتُّهَا وَقَوْمَهَا يَسْجُدُونَ لِلشَّمْسِ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ فَهُمْ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وجدتها - And I found her| وقومها - and her people| يسجدون - prostrating| للشمس - to the sun| من - instead of Allah,| دون - instead of Allah,| الله - instead of Allah,| وزين - and has made fair-seeming| لهم - to them| الشيطان - the Shaitaan| أعمالهم - their deeds,| فصدهم - and averted them| عن - from| السبيل - the Way,| فهم - so they| لا - (are) not| يهتدون - guided,| | ||||||
| 8 [27:41] | Qala nakkiroo laha AAarshahananthur atahtadee am takoonu mina allatheenala yahtadoona | قال نكروا لها عرشها ننظر أتهتدي أم تكون من الذين لا يهتدون قَالَ نَكِّرُوا لَهَا عَرْشَهَا نَنظُرْ أَتَهْتَدِي أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |قال - He said,| نكروا - "Disguise| لها - for her| عرشها - her throne;| ننظر - we will see| أتهتدي - whether she will be guided| أم - or| تكون - will be| من - of| الذين - those who| لا - are not guided."| يهتدون - are not guided."| | ||||||
| 9 [28:64] | Waqeela odAAoo shurakaakumfadaAAawhum falam yastajeeboo lahum waraawoo alAAathabalaw annahum kanoo yahtadoona | وقيل ادعوا شركاءكم فدعوهم فلم يستجيبوا لهم ورأوا العذاب لو أنهم كانوا يهتدون وَقِيلَ ادْعُوا شُرَكَاءَكُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَهُمْ وَرَأَوُا الْعَذَابَ لَوْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وقيل - And it will be said,| ادعوا - "Call| شركاءكم - your partners."| فدعوهم - And they will call them,| فلم - but not| يستجيبوا - they will respond| لهم - to them| ورأوا - and they will see| العذاب - the punishment.| لو - If only| أنهم - [that] they| كانوا - had been| يهتدون - guided!| | ||||||
| 10 [32:3] | Am yaqooloona iftarahu bal huwa alhaqqumin rabbika litunthira qawman ma atahum minnatheerin min qablika laAAallahum yahtadoona | أم يقولون افتراه بل هو الحق من ربك لتنذر قوما ما أتاهم من نذير من قبلك لعلهم يهتدون أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ بَلْ هُوَ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّا أَتَاهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |أم - Or| يقولون - (do) they say,| افتراه - "He invented it?"| بل - Nay,| هو - it| الحق - (is) the truth| من - from| ربك - your Lord| لتنذر - that you may warn| قوما - a people| ما - not| أتاهم - has come to them| من - any| نذير - warner| من - before you| قبلك - before you| لعلهم - so that they may| يهتدون - be guided.| | ||||||
