| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[2:170] | Wa-itha qeela lahumu ittabiAAoo maanzala Allahu qaloo bal nattabiAAu ma alfaynaAAalayhi abaana awa law kana abaohumla yaAAqiloona shay-an wala yahtadoona
|  وإذا قيل لهم اتبعوا ما أنزل الله قالوا بل نتبع ما ألفينا عليه آباءنا أولو كان آباؤهم لا يعقلون شيئا ولا يهتدون
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوا مَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ قَالُواْ بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا أَلْفَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا أَوَلَوْ كَانَ آبَاؤُهُمْ لاَ يَعْقِلُونَ شَيْئاً وَلاَ يَهْتَدُونَ |
| Words | |وإذا - And when| قيل - it is said| لهم - to them,| اتبعوا - "Follow| ما - what| أنزل - has revealed| الله - Allah,"| قالوا - they said,| بل - "Nay| نتبع - we follow| ما - what| ألفينا - we found| عليه - [on it]| آباءنا - our forefathers (following)".| أولو - Even though| كان - [were]| آباؤهم - their forefathers| لا - (did) not| يعقلون - understand| شيئا - anything| ولا - and not| يهتدون - were they guided?| |

| ለእነርሱም «አላህ ያወረደውን ተከተሉ» በተባሉ ጊዜ «አይደለም አባቶቻችንን በርሱ ላይ ያገኘንበትን ነገር እንከተላለን» ይላሉ፡፡ አባቶቻቸው ምንም የማያውቁና (ወደ እውነት) የማይመሩም ቢኾኑ (ይከተሉዋቸዋልን?) |
| آل الجلالين | { وإذا قيل لهم } أي الكفار { اتبعوا ما أنزل الله } من التوحيد وتحليل الطيبات { قالوا } لا { بل نتبع ما ألفينا } وجدنا { عليه آباءنا } من عبادة الأصنام وتحريم السوائب والبحائر قال تعالى: { أ } يتبعونهم { وَلو كان آباؤهم لا يعقلون شيئا } من أمر الدين { ولا يهتدون } إلى الحق والهمزةُ للإنكار . |
| Ma nnan asen: "ddut akked wayen id Issers Öebbi", a d inin: "xaîi, a neddu akked wayen id nufa ar imezwura nne$". I ma llan imezwura nnsen ur meyyzen acemma, ur pwanhan? |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর যখন তাদেরকে কেউ বলে যে, সে হুকুমেরই আনুগত্য কর যা আল্লাহ তা’আলা নাযিল করেছেন, তখন তারা বলে কখনো না, আমরা তো সে বিষয়েরই অনুসরণ করব। যাতে আমরা আমাদের বাপ-দাদাদেরকে দেখেছি। যদি ও তাদের বাপ দাদারা কিছুই জানতো না, জানতো না সরল পথও। |
| Literal | And if it (was) said to them: "Follow what God descended." They said: "But we follow what we found our fathers on it." Even even if their fathers were not reasoning/comprehending a thing and nor being guided ? |
| Yusuf Ali | When it is said to them: "Follow what Allah hath revealed:" They say: "Nay! we shall follow the ways of our fathers." What! even though their fathers Were void of wisdom and guidance? |
