| 1 [2:64] | Thumma tawallaytum min baAAdi thalikafalawla fadlu Allahi AAalaykum warahmatuhulakuntum mina alkhasireena |  ثم توليتم من بعد ذلك فلولا فضل الله عليكم ورحمته لكنتم من الخاسرينثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُم مِّنْ بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ فَلَوْلاَ فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ لَكُـنْـتُم مِّنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ | |||||
| Words | |ثم - Then| توليتم - you turned away| من - from| بعد - after| ذلك - that.| فلولا - So if not| فضل - (for the) Grace| الله - (of) Allah| عليكم - upon you| ورحمته - and His Mercy,| لكنتم - surely you would have been| من - of| الخاسرين - the losers.| | ||||||
| 2 [6:43] | Falawla ith jaahumba/suna tadarraAAoo walakin qasat quloobuhumwazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu ma kanooyaAAmaloona | فلولا إذ جاءهم بأسنا تضرعوا ولكن قست قلوبهم وزين لهم الشيطان ما كانوا يعملون فَلَوْلاَ إِذْ جَاءَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا تَضَرَّعُواْ وَلَـكِن قَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فلولا - Then why not| إذ - when| جاءهم - came to them| بأسنا - Our punishment,| تضرعوا - they humbled themselves?| ولكن - But| قست - became hardened| قلوبهم - their hearts| وزين - and made fair-seeming| لهم - to them| الشيطان - the Shaitaan| ما - what| كانوا - they used to| يعملون - do.| | ||||||
| 3 [9:122] | Wama kana almu/minoonaliyanfiroo kaffatan falawla nafara min kullifirqatin minhum ta-ifatun liyatafaqqahoo fee alddeeniwaliyunthiroo qawmahum itha rajaAAoo ilayhimlaAAallahum yahtharoona | وما كان المؤمنون لينفروا كافة فلولا نفر من كل فرقة منهم طائفة ليتفقهوا في الدين ولينذروا قومهم إذا رجعوا إليهم لعلهم يحذرون وَمَا كَانَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لِيَنفِرُواْ كَآفَّةً فَلَوْلاَ نَفَرَ مِن كُلِّ فِرْقَةٍ مِّنْهُمْ طَآئِفَةٌ لِّيَتَفَقَّهُواْ فِي الدِّينِ وَلِيُنذِرُواْ قَوْمَهُمْ إِذَا رَجَعُواْ إِلَيْهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَحْذَرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وما - And not| كان - is| المؤمنون - (for) the believers| لينفروا - that they go forth| كافة - all together.| فلولا - So if not| نفر - go forth| من - from| كل - every| فرقة - group| منهم - among them| طائفة - a party| ليتفقهوا - that they may obtain understanding| في - in| الدين - the religion,| ولينذروا - and that they may warn| قومهم - their people| إذا - when| رجعوا - they return| إليهم - to them,| لعلهم - so that they may| يحذرون - beware.| | ||||||
| 4 [10:98] | Falawla kanat qaryatun amanatfanafaAAaha eemanuha illa qawmayoonusa lamma amanoo kashafna AAanhum AAathabaalkhizyi fee alhayati alddunyawamattaAAnahum ila heenin | فلولا كانت قرية آمنت فنفعها إيمانها إلا قوم يونس لما آمنوا كشفنا عنهم عذاب الخزي في الحياة الدنيا ومتعناهم إلى حين فَلَوْلاَ كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ آمَنَتْ فَنَفَعَهَا إِيمَانُهَا إِلاَّ قَوْمَ يُونُسَ لَمَّآ آمَنُواْ كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمْ عَذَابَ الْخِزْيِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَتَّعْنَاهُمْ إِلَى حِينٍ | |||||
| Words | |فلولا - So why not| كانت - was| قرية - any town| آمنت - that believed,| فنفعها - and benefited it| إيمانها - its faith,| إلا - except| قوم - the people| يونس - (of) Yunus?| لما - When| آمنوا - they believed,| كشفنا - We removed| عنهم - from them| عذاب - (the) punishment| الخزي - (of) the disgrace| في - in| الحياة - the life| الدنيا - of the world| ومتعناهم - and We granted them enjoyment| إلى - for| حين - a time.| | ||||||
| 5 [11:116] | Falawla kana mina alquroonimin qablikum oloo baqiyyatin yanhawna AAani alfasadi feeal-ardi illa qaleelan mimman anjayna minhumwaittabaAAa allatheena thalamoo maotrifoo feehi wakanoo mujrimeena | فلولا كان من القرون من قبلكم أولو بقية ينهون عن الفساد في الأرض إلا قليلا ممن أنجينا منهم واتبع الذين ظلموا ما أترفوا فيه وكانوا مجرمين فَلَوْلاَ كَانَ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ أُوْلُواْ بَقِيَّةٍ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْفَسَادِ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً مِّمَّنْ أَنجَيْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَاتَّبَعَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مَا أُتْرِفُواْ فِيهِ وَكَانُواْ مُجْرِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فلولا - So why not| كان - had been| من - of| القرون - the generations| من - before you| قبلكم - before you| أولو - those possessing a remnant,| بقية - those possessing a remnant,| ينهون - forbidding| عن - from| الفساد - the corruption| في - in| الأرض - the earth| إلا - except| قليلا - a few| ممن - of those| أنجينا - We saved| منهم - among them?| واتبع - But followed| الذين - those who| ظلموا - did wrong| ما - what| أترفوا - luxury they were given| فيه - therein,| وكانوا - and they were| مجرمين - criminals.| | ||||||
| 6 [37:143] | Falawla annahu kana minaalmusabbiheena | فلولا أنه كان من المسبحين فَلَوْلَا أَنَّهُ كَانَ مِنْ الْمُسَبِّحِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فلولا - And if not| أنه - that he| كان - was| من - of| المسبحين - those who glorify| | ||||||
| 7 [43:53] | Falawla olqiya AAalayhi aswiratun minthahabin aw jaa maAAahu almala-ikatumuqtarineena | فلولا ألقي عليه أسورة من ذهب أو جاء معه الملائكة مقترنين فَلَوْلَا أُلْقِيَ عَلَيْهِ أَسْوِرَةٌ مِّن ذَهَبٍ أَوْ جَاءَ مَعَهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ مُقْتَرِنِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فلولا - Then why not| ألقي - are placed| عليه - on him| أسورة - bracelets| من - of| ذهب - gold| أو - or| جاء - come| معه - with him| الملائكة - the Angels| مقترنين - accompanying (him)?"| | ||||||
| 8 [46:28] | Falawla nasarahumu allatheenaittakhathoo min dooni Allahi qurbanan alihatanbal dalloo AAanhum wathalika ifkuhum wama kanooyaftaroona | فلولا نصرهم الذين اتخذوا من دون الله قربانا آلهة بل ضلوا عنهم وذلك إفكهم وما كانوا يفترون فَلَوْلَا نَصَرَهُمُ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ قُرْبَانًا آلِهَةً بَلْ ضَلُّوا عَنْهُمْ وَذَلِكَ إِفْكُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فلولا - Then why (did) not| نصرهم - help them| الذين - those whom| اتخذوا - they had taken| من - besides| دون - besides| الله - Allah| قربانا - gods as a way of approach?| آلهة - gods as a way of approach?| بل - Nay,| ضلوا - they were lost| عنهم - from them.| وذلك - And that| إفكهم - (was) their falsehood| وما - and what| كانوا - they were| يفترون - inventing.| | ||||||
| 9 [56:57] | Nahnu khalaqnakum falawlatusaddiqoona | نحن خلقناكم فلولا تصدقون نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ | |||||
| Words | |نحن - We| خلقناكم - [We] created you,| فلولا - so why (do) not| تصدقون - you admit the truth?| | ||||||
| 10 [56:62] | Walaqad AAalimtumu alnnash-ata al-oolafalawla tathakkaroona | ولقد علمتم النشأة الأولى فلولا تذكرون وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَى فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولقد - And certainly| علمتم - you know| النشأة - the creation| الأولى - the first,| فلولا - so why not| تذكرون - you take heed?| | ||||||
| 11 [56:70] | Law nashao jaAAalnahu ojajanfalawla tashkuroona | لو نشاء جعلناه أجاجا فلولا تشكرون لَوْ نَشَاءُ جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |لو - If| نشاء - We willed,| جعلناه - We (could) make it| أجاجا - salty,| فلولا - then why are you not grateful?| تشكرون - then why are you not grateful?| | ||||||
| 12 [56:83] | Falawla itha balaghati alhulqooma | فلولا إذا بلغت الحلقوم فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ | |||||

| 13 [56:86] | Falawla in kuntum ghayra madeeneena | فلولا إن كنتم غير مدينين فَلَوْلَا إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ | |||||
