| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[21:40] | Bal ta/teehim baghtatan fatabhatuhum falayastateeAAoona raddaha wala hum yuntharoona
|  بل تأتيهم بغتة فتبهتهم فلا يستطيعون ردها ولا هم ينظرون
بَلْ تَأْتِيهِم بَغْتَةً فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ |
| Words | |بل - Nay,| تأتيهم - it will come to them| بغتة - unexpectedly| فتبهتهم - and bewilder them,| فلا - then not| يستطيعون - they will be able| ردها - to repel it,| ولا - and not| هم - they| ينظرون - will be given respite.| |

| ይልቁንም (ሰዓቲቱ) በድንገት ትመጣቸዋለች፤ ታዋልላቸዋለችም፡፡ መመለሷንም አይችሉም፡፡ እነሱም አይቆዩም፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { بل تأتيهم } القيامة { بغتة فتبهتهم } تحيرهم { فلا يستطيعون ردها ولا هم ينظرون } يمهلون لتوبة أو معذرة . |
| Xaîi! A ten id ias, deqzalla, a ten iwwet ba$a, ur zmiren a t rren, ne$ ad gganin. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | বরং তা আসবে তাদের উপর অতর্কিত ভাবে, অতঃপর তাদেরকে তা হতবুদ্ধি করে দেবে, তখন তারা তা রোধ করতেও পারবে না এবং তাদেরকে অবকাশও দেয়া হবে না। |
| Literal | But it comes to them suddenly/unexpectedly, so it amazes/surprises them, so they are not able (of) its return/returning it, and nor they be given time . |
| Yusuf Ali | Nay, it may come to them all of a sudden and confound them: no power will they have then to avert it, nor will they (then) get respite. |
| Pickthal | Nay, but it will come upon them unawares so that it will stupefy them, and they will be unable to repel it, neither will they be reprieved. |
