| 1 [10:12] | Wa-itha massa al-insana alddurrudaAAana lijanbihi aw qaAAidan aw qa-imanfalamma kashafna AAanhu durrahu marra kaanlam yadAAuna ila durrin massahu kathalikazuyyina lilmusrifeena ma kanoo yaAAmaloona |  وإذا مس الإنسان الضر دعانا لجنبه أو قاعدا أو قائما فلما كشفنا عنه ضره مر كأن لم يدعنا إلى ضر مسه كذلك زين للمسرفين ما كانوا يعملونوَإِذَا مَسَّ الْإِنسَانَ الضُّرُّ دَعَانَا لِجَنبِهِ أَوْ قَاعِدًا أَوْ قَآئِمًا فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُ ضُرَّهُ مَرَّ كَأَن لَّمْ يَدْعُنَا إِلَى ضُرٍّ مَّسَّهُ كَذَلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| مس - touches| الإنسان - the man| الضر - the affliction| دعانا - he calls Us,| لجنبه - (lying) on his side| أو - or| قاعدا - sitting| أو - or| قائما - standing.| فلما - But when| كشفنا - We remove| عنه - from him| ضره - his affliction| مر - he passes on| كأن - as if he| لم - (had) not| يدعنا - called Us| إلى - for| ضر - (the) affliction| مسه - (that) touched him.| كذلك - Thus| زين - (it) is made fair seeming| للمسرفين - to the extravagant| ما - what| كانوا - they used (to)| يعملون - do.| | ||||||
| 2 [17:83] | Wa-itha anAAamna AAalaal-insani aAArada wanaa bijanibihiwa-itha massahu alshsharru kana yaoosan | وإذا أنعمنا على الإنسان أعرض ونأى بجانبه وإذا مسه الشر كان يئوسا وَإِذَآ أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى الْإِنسَانِ أَعْرَضَ وَنَئَا بِجَانِبِهِ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ كَانَ يَؤُوسًا | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| أنعمنا - We bestow favor| على - on| الإنسان - man| أعرض - he turns away| ونأى - and becomes remote| بجانبه - on his side.| وإذا - And when| مسه - touches him| الشر - the evil| كان - he is| يئوسا - (in) despair.| | ||||||
| 3 [41:49] | La yas-amu al-insanu min duAAa-ialkhayri wa-in massahu alshsharru fayaoosun qanootun | لا يسأم الإنسان من دعاء الخير وإن مسه الشر فيئوس قنوط لاَّ يَسْأَمُ الْإِنسَانُ مِن دُعَاءِ الْخَيْرِ وَإِن مَّسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَيَؤُوسٌ قَنُوطٌ | |||||
| Words | |لا - (Does) not| يسأم - get tired| الإنسان - man| من - of| دعاء - praying| الخير - (for) the good,| وإن - but if| مسه - touches him| الشر - the evil| فيئوس - then he gives up hope| قنوط - (and) despairs.| | ||||||
| 4 [41:51] | Wa-itha anAAamna AAalaal-insani aAArada wanaa bijanibihiwa-itha massahu alshsharru fathoo duAAa-inAAareedin | وإذا أنعمنا على الإنسان أعرض ونأى بجانبه وإذا مسه الشر فذو دعاء عريض وَإِذَا أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى الْإِنسَانِ أَعْرَضَ وَنَئَا بِجَانِبِهِ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَذُو دُعَاءٍ عَرِيضٍ | |||||
