| 1 [2:26] | Inna Allaha la yastahyeean yadriba mathalan ma baAAoodatan famafawqaha faamma allatheena amanoofayaAAlamoona annahu alhaqqu min rabbihim waammaallatheena kafaroo fayaqooloona matha aradaAllahu bihatha mathalan yudillu bihikatheeran wayahdee bihi katheeran wama yudillu bihiilla alfasiqeena |  إن الله لا يستحيي أن يضرب مثلا ما بعوضة فما فوقها فأما الذين آمنوا فيعلمون أنه الحق من ربهم وأما الذين كفروا فيقولون ماذا أراد الله بهذا مثلا يضل به كثيرا ويهدي به كثيرا وما يضل به إلا الفاسقينإِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَسْتَحْيِي أَن يَّضْرِبَ مَثَلاً مَّا بَعُوضَةً فَمَا فَوْقَهَا فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ فَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَيَقُولُونَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِهَـذَا مَثَلاً يُضِلُّ بِهِ كَثِيراً وَّيَهْدِي بِهِ كَثِيراً وَمَا يُضِلُّ بِهِ إِلاَّ الْفَاسِقِينَ | |||||
| Words | |إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| لا - (is) not| يستحيي - ashamed| أن - to| يضرب - set forth| مثلا - an example| ما - (like) even| بعوضة - (of) a mosquito| فما - and (even) something| فوقها - above it.| فأما - Then as for| الذين - those who| آمنوا - believed,| فيعلمون - [thus] they will know| أنه - that it| الحق - (is) the truth| من - from| ربهم - their Lord.| وأما - And as for| الذين - those who| كفروا - disbelieved| فيقولون - [thus] they will say| ماذا - what| أراد - (did) intend| الله - Allah| بهذا - by this| مثلا - example?| يضل - He lets go astray| به - by it| كثيرا - many| ويهدي - and He guides| به - by it| كثيرا - many.| وما - And not| يضل - He lets go astray| به - by it| إلا - except| الفاسقين - the defiantly disobedient.| | ||||||
| 2 [7:177] | Saa mathalan alqawmu allatheenakaththaboo bi-ayatina waanfusahum kanooyathlimoona | ساء مثلا القوم الذين كذبوا بآياتنا وأنفسهم كانوا يظلمون سَاءَ مَثَلاً الْقَوْمُ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا وَأَنفُسَهُمْ كَانُواْ يَظْلِمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ساء - Evil| مثلا - (as) an example| القوم - (are) the people| الذين - those who| كذبوا - denied| بآياتنا - Our Signs| وأنفسهم - and themselves| كانوا - they used to| يظلمون - wrong.| | ||||||
| 3 [11:24] | Mathalu alfareeqayni kaal-aAAmawaal-asammi waalbaseeri waalssameeAAihal yastawiyani mathalan afala tathakkaroona | مثل الفريقين كالأعمى والأصم والبصير والسميع هل يستويان مثلا أفلا تذكرون مَثَلُ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ كَالْأَعْمَى وَالْأَصَمِّ وَالْبَصِـيـرِ وَالسَّمِيعِ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلاً أَفَلاَ تَذَكَّرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |مثل - (The) example| الفريقين - (of) the two parties| كالأعمى - (is) like the blind| والأصم - and the deaf,| والبصير - and the seer| والسميع - and the hearer.| هل - Are| يستويان - they equal| مثلا - (in) comparison?| أفلا - Then, will not| تذكرون - you take heed?| | ||||||
| 4 [14:24] | Alam tara kayfa daraba Allahumathalan kalimatan tayyibatan kashajaratin tayyibatinasluha thabitun wafarAAuha fee alssama/-i | ألم تر كيف ضرب الله مثلا كلمة طيبة كشجرة طيبة أصلها ثابت وفرعها في السماء أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ ضَرَبَ اللّهُ مَثَلاً كَلِمَةً طَيِّبَةً كَشَجَرةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِي السَّمَاءِ | |||||
| Words | |ألم - Do not| تر - you see| كيف - how| ضرب - Allah sets forth| الله - Allah sets forth| مثلا - the example,| كلمة - a word| طيبة - good| كشجرة - (is) like a tree| طيبة - good,| أصلها - its root| ثابت - (is) firm| وفرعها - and its branches| في - (are) in| السماء - the sky?| | ||||||
| 5 [16:75] | Daraba Allahu mathalan AAabdanmamlookan la yaqdiru AAala shay-in waman razaqnahuminna rizqan hasanan fahuwa yunfiqu minhu sirranwajahran hal yastawoona alhamdu lillahi balaktharuhum la yaAAlamoona | ضرب الله مثلا عبدا مملوكا لا يقدر على شيء ومن رزقناه منا رزقا حسنا فهو ينفق منه سرا وجهرا هل يستوون الحمد لله بل أكثرهم لا يعلمون ضَرَبَ اللّهُ مَثَلاً عَبْدًا مَّمْلُوكًا لاَّ يَقْدِرُ عَلَى شَيْءٍ وَمَن رَّزَقْنَاهُ مِنَّا رِزْقًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ يُنفِقُ مِنْهُ سِرًّا وَجَهْرًا هَلْ يَسْتَوُونَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ضرب - Allah sets forth| الله - Allah sets forth| مثلا - the example| عبدا - (of) a slave| مملوكا - (who is) owned,| لا - not| يقدر - he has power| على - on| شيء - anything| ومن - and (one) whom| رزقناه - We provided him| منا - from Us| رزقا - a provision| حسنا - good,| فهو - so he| ينفق - spends| منه - from it,| سرا - secretly| وجهرا - and publicly.| هل - Can| يستوون - they be equal?| الحمد - All praise| لله - (is) for Allah!| بل - Nay,| أكثرهم - but most of them| لا - (do) not| يعلمون - know.| | ||||||
| 6 [16:76] | Wadaraba Allahu mathalanrajulayni ahaduhuma abkamu la yaqdiru AAalashay-in wahuwa kallun AAala mawlahu aynamayuwajjihhu la ya/ti bikhayrin hal yastawee huwa wamanya/muru bialAAadli wahuwa AAala siratinmustaqeemin | وضرب الله مثلا رجلين أحدهما أبكم لا يقدر على شيء وهو كل على مولاه أينما يوجهه لا يأت بخير هل يستوي هو ومن يأمر بالعدل وهو على صراط مستقيم وَضَرَبَ اللّهُ مَثَلاً رَّجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا أَبْكَمُ لاَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَى شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ كَلٌّ عَلَى مَوْلاَهُ أَيْنَمَا يُوَجِّههُّ لاَ يَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي هُوَ وَمَن يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَهُوَ عَلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ | |||||
| Words | |وضرب - And Allah sets forth| الله - And Allah sets forth| مثلا - an example| رجلين - (of) two men,| أحدهما - one of them| أبكم - (is) dumb,| لا - not| يقدر - he has power| على - on| شيء - anything,| وهو - while he| كل - (is) a burden| على - on| مولاه - his master.| أينما - Wherever| يوجهه - he directs him| لا - not| يأت - he comes| بخير - with any good.| هل - Is| يستوي - equal| هو - he| ومن - and (the one) who| يأمر - commands| بالعدل - [of] justice,| وهو - and he| على - (is) on| صراط - a path| مستقيم - straight?| | ||||||
| 7 [16:112] | Wadaraba Allahu mathalanqaryatan kanat aminatan mutma-innatanya/teeha rizquha raghadan min kulli makaninfakafarat bi-anAAumi Allahi faathaqaha Allahulibasa aljooAAi waalkhawfi bima kanooyasnaAAoona | وضرب الله مثلا قرية كانت آمنة مطمئنة يأتيها رزقها رغدا من كل مكان فكفرت بأنعم الله فأذاقها الله لباس الجوع والخوف بما كانوا يصنعون وَضَرَبَ اللّهُ مَثَلاً قَرْيَةً كَانَتْ آمِنَةً مُّطْمَئِنَّةً يَأْتِيهَا رِزْقُهَا رَغَدًا مِّن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فَكَفَرَتْ بِأَنْعُمِ اللّهِ فَأَذَاقَهَا اللّهُ لِبَاسَ الْجُوعِ وَالْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَصْنَعُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وضرب - And Allah sets forth| الله - And Allah sets forth| مثلا - a similitude| قرية - (of) a town| كانت - (that) was| آمنة - secure| مطمئنة - and content,| يأتيها - coming to it| رزقها - its provision| رغدا - (in) abundance| من - from| كل - every| مكان - place,| فكفرت - but it denied| بأنعم - (the) Favors of Allah,| الله - (the) Favors of Allah,| فأذاقها - so Allah made it taste| الله - so Allah made it taste| لباس - (the) garb| الجوع - (of) the hunger| والخوف - and the fear| بما - for what| كانوا - they used (to)| يصنعون - do.| | ||||||
| 8 [18:32] | Waidrib lahum mathalanrajulayni jaAAalna li-ahadihima jannataynimin aAAnabin wahafafnahuma binakhlinwajaAAalna baynahuma zarAAan | واضرب لهم مثلا رجلين جعلنا لأحدهما جنتين من أعناب وحففناهما بنخل وجعلنا بينهما زرعا وَاضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلاً رَّجُلَيْنِ جَعَلْنَا لِأَحَدِهِمَا جَنَّتَيْنِ مِنْ أَعْنَابٍ وَحَفَفْنَاهُمَا بِنَخْلٍ وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُمَا زَرْعًا | |||||
| Words | |واضرب - And set forth| لهم - to them| مثلا - the example| رجلين - of two men:| جعلنا - We provided| لأحدهما - for one of them| جنتين - two gardens| من - of| أعناب - grapes,| وحففناهما - and We bordered them| بنخل - with date-palms,| وجعلنا - and We placed| بينهما - between both of them| زرعا - crops.| | ||||||
| 9 [30:28] | Daraba lakum mathalan min anfusikumhal lakum mimma malakat aymanukum min shurakaafee ma razaqnakum faantum feehi sawaon takhafoonahumkakheefatikum anfusakum kathalika nufassilu al-ayatiliqawmin yaAAqiloona | ضرب لكم مثلا من أنفسكم هل لكم من ما ملكت أيمانكم من شركاء في ما رزقناكم فأنتم فيه سواء تخافونهم كخيفتكم أنفسكم كذلك نفصل الآيات لقوم يعقلون ضَرَبَ لَكُم مَّثَلًا مِنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ هَل لَّكُم مِّن مَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُم مِّن شُرَكَاءَ فِي مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ فَأَنتُمْ فِيهِ سَوَاءٌ تَخَافُونَهُمْ كَخِيفَتِكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ كَذَلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ضرب - He sets forth| لكم - to you| مثلا - an example| من - from| أنفسكم - yourselves.| هل - Is| لكم - for you| من - among| ما - what| ملكت - possess| أيمانكم - your right hands| من - any| شركاء - partners| في - in| ما - what| رزقناكم - We have provided you| فأنتم - so you| فيه - in it| سواء - (are) equal,| تخافونهم - you fear them| كخيفتكم - as you fear| أنفسكم - yourselves?| كذلك - Thus| نفصل - We explain| الآيات - the Verses| لقوم - for a people| يعقلون - (who) use reason.| | ||||||
| 10 [36:13] | Waidrib lahum mathalan as-habaalqaryati ith jaaha almursaloona | واضرب لهم مثلا أصحاب القرية إذ جاءها المرسلون وَاضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلاً أَصْحَابَ الْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَاءَهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |واضرب - And set forth| لهم - to them| مثلا - an example| أصحاب - (of the) companions| القرية - (of) the city,| إذ - when| جاءها - came to it| المرسلون - the Messengers,| | ||||||
| 11 [36:78] | Wadaraba lana mathalanwanasiya khalqahu qala man yuhyee alAAithamawahiya rameemun | وضرب لنا مثلا ونسي خلقه قال من يحيي العظام وهي رميم وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًا وَنَسِيَ خَلْقَهُ قَالَ مَنْ يُحْيِي الْعِظَامَ وَهِيَ رَمِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |وضرب - And he sets forth| لنا - for Us| مثلا - an example| ونسي - and forgets| خلقه - his (own) creation.| قال - He says,| من - "Who| يحيي - will give life| العظام - (to) the bones| وهي - while they| رميم - (are) decomposed?"| | ||||||
| 12 [39:29] | Daraba Allahu mathalan rajulanfeehi shurakao mutashakisoona warajulan salamanlirajulin hal yastawiyani mathalan alhamdu lillahibal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona | ضرب الله مثلا رجلا فيه شركاء متشاكسون ورجلا سلما لرجل هل يستويان مثلا الحمد لله بل أكثرهم لا يعلمون ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا رَّجُلًا فِيهِ شُرَكَاءَ مُتَشَاكِسُونَ وَرَجُلًا سَلَمًا لِّرَجُلٍ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلًا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||

| 13 [43:17] | Wa-itha bushshira ahaduhum bimadaraba lilrrahmani mathalan thallawajhuhu muswaddan wahuwa katheemun | وإذا بشر أحدهم بما ضرب للرحمن مثلا ظل وجهه مسودا وهو كظيم وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِمَا ضَرَبَ لِلرَّحْمَنِ مَثَلًا ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| بشر - is given good news,| أحدهم - (to) one of them,| بما - of what| ضرب - he sets up| للرحمن - for the Most Gracious| مثلا - (as) a likeness,| ظل - becomes| وجهه - his face| مسودا - dark| وهو - and he| كظيم - (is) filled with grief.| | ||||||
| 14 [43:57] | Walamma duriba ibnu maryamamathalan itha qawmuka minhu yasiddoona | ولما ضرب ابن مريم مثلا إذا قومك منه يصدون وَلَمَّا ضُرِبَ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ مَثَلًا إِذَا قَوْمُكَ مِنْهُ يَصِدُّونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولما - And when| ضرب - is presented,| ابن - (the) son| مريم - (of) Maryam,| مثلا - (as) an example| إذا - behold!| قومك - Your people| منه - about it| يصدون - laughed aloud.| | ||||||
| 15 [43:59] | In huwa illa AAabdun anAAamnaAAalayhi wajaAAalnahu mathalan libanee isra-eela | إن هو إلا عبد أنعمنا عليه وجعلناه مثلا لبني إسرائيل إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا عَبْدٌ أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَجَعَلْنَاهُ مَثَلًا لِّبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ | |||||

| 16 [66:10] | Daraba Allahu mathalan lillatheenakafaroo imraata noohin waimraata lootin kanatatahta AAabdayni min AAibadina salihaynifakhanatahuma falam yughniya AAanhumamina Allahi shay-an waqeela odkhula alnnaramaAAa alddakhileena | ضرب الله مثلا للذين كفروا امرأت نوح وامرأت لوط كانتا تحت عبدين من عبادنا صالحين فخانتاهما فلم يغنيا عنهما من الله شيئا وقيل ادخلا النار مع الداخلين ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا امْرَأَتَ نُوحٍ وَامْرَأَتَ لُوطٍ كَانَتَا تَحْتَ عَبْدَيْنِ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا صَالِحَيْنِ فَخَانَتَاهُمَا فَلَمْ يُغْنِيَا عَنْهُمَا مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا وَقِيلَ ادْخُلَا النَّارَ مَعَ الدَّاخِلِينَ | |||||
| Words | |ضرب - Presents| الله - Allah| مثلا - an example| للذين - for those who| كفروا - disbelieved -| امرأت - (the) wife| نوح - (of) Nuh| وامرأت - (and the) wife| لوط - (of) Lut.| كانتا - They were| تحت - under| عبدين - two [slaves]| من - of| عبادنا - Our slaves| صالحين - righteous,| فخانتاهما - but they both betrayed them,| فلم - so not| يغنيا - they availed,| عنهما - both of them,| من - from| الله - Allah| شيئا - (in) anything,| وقيل - and it was said,| ادخلا - "Enter| النار - the Fire| مع - with| الداخلين - those who enter."| | ||||||
| 17 [66:11] | Wadaraba Allahu mathalan lillatheenaamanoo imraata firAAawna ith qalat rabbiibni lee AAindaka baytan fee aljannati wanajjinee min firAAawnawaAAamalihi wanajjinee mina alqawmi alththalimeena | وضرب الله مثلا للذين آمنوا امرأت فرعون إذ قالت رب ابن لي عندك بيتا في الجنة ونجني من فرعون وعمله ونجني من القوم الظالمين وَضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا لِّلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا امْرَأَتَ فِرْعَوْنَ إِذْ قَالَتْ رَبِّ ابْنِ لِي عِندَكَ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَنَجِّنِي مِن فِرْعَوْنَ وَعَمَلِهِ وَنَجِّنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ | |||||

| 18 [74:31] | Wama jaAAalna as-habaalnnari illa mala-ikatan wamajaAAalna AAiddatahum illa fitnatan lillatheenakafaroo liyastayqina allatheena ootoo alkitabawayazdada allatheena amanoo eemananwala yartaba allatheena ootoo alkitabawaalmu/minoona waliyaqoola allatheena feequloobihim maradun waalkafiroona mathaarada Allahu bihatha mathalan kathalikayudillu Allahu man yashao wayahdee man yashaowama yaAAlamu junooda rabbika illa huwa wamahiya illa thikra lilbashari | وما جعلنا أصحاب النار إلا ملائكة وما جعلنا عدتهم إلا فتنة للذين كفروا ليستيقن الذين أوتوا الكتاب ويزداد الذين آمنوا إيمانا ولا يرتاب الذين أوتوا الكتاب والمؤمنون وليقول الذين في قلوبهم مرض والكافرون ماذا أراد الله بهذا مثلا كذلك يضل الله من يشاء ويهدي من يشاء وما يعلم جنود ربك إلا هو وما هي إلا ذكرى للبشر وَمَا جَعَلْنَا أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَائِكَةً وَمَا جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَيَزْدَادَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِيْمَانًا وَلَا يَرْتَابَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَلِيَقُولَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَالْكَافِرُونَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِهَذَا مَثَلًا كَذَلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَمَا هِيَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَى لِلْبَشَرِ | |||||
