| 1 [9:25] | Laqad nasarakumu Allahu feemawatina katheeratin wayawma hunaynin ithaAAjabatkum kathratukum falam tughni AAankum shay-an wadaqatAAalaykumu al-ardu bima rahubat thummawallaytum mudbireena |  لقد نصركم الله في مواطن كثيرة ويوم حنين إذ أعجبتكم كثرتكم فلم تغن عنكم شيئا وضاقت عليكم الأرض بما رحبت ثم وليتم مدبرينلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللّهُ فِي مَوَاطِنَ كَثِيرَةٍ وَيَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ إِذْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ كَثْرَتُكُمْ فَلَمْ تُغْنِ عَنكُمْ شَيْئًا وَضَاقَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الْأَرْضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتْ ثُمَّ وَلَّيْتُم مُّدْبِرِينَ | |||||
| Words | |لقد - Verily,| نصركم - Allah helped you| الله - Allah helped you| في - in| مواطن - regions| كثيرة - many,| ويوم - and (on the) day| حنين - (of) Hunain,| إذ - when| أعجبتكم - pleased you| كثرتكم - your multitude,| فلم - but not| تغن - availed| عنكم - you| شيئا - anything| وضاقت - and (was) straitened| عليكم - for you| الأرض - the earth| بما - (in spite) of its vastness,| رحبت - (in spite) of its vastness,| ثم - then| وليتم - you turned back,| مدبرين - fleeing.| | ||||||
| 2 [10:24] | Innama mathalu alhayatialddunya kama-in anzalnahu mina alssama-ifaikhtalata bihi nabatu al-ardi mimmaya/kulu alnnasu waal-anAAamu hattaitha akhathati al-ardu zukhrufaha waizzayyanatwathanna ahluha annahum qadiroonaAAalayha ataha amruna laylan aw naharanfajaAAalnaha haseedan kaan lam taghnabial-amsi kathalika nufassilu al-ayatiliqawmin yatafakkaroona | إنما مثل الحياة الدنيا كماء أنزلناه من السماء فاختلط به نبات الأرض مما يأكل الناس والأنعام حتى إذا أخذت الأرض زخرفها وازينت وظن أهلها أنهم قادرون عليها أتاها أمرنا ليلا أو نهارا فجعلناها حصيدا كأن لم تغن بالأمس كذلك نفصل الآيات لقوم يتفكرون إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا كَمَاءٍ أَنزَلْنَاهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَاخْتَلَطَ بِهِ نَبَاتُ الْأَرْضِ مِمَّا يَأْكُلُ النَّاسُ وَالْأَنْعَامُ حَتَّىَ إِذَا أَخَذَتِ الْأَرْضُ زُخْرُفَهَا وَازَّيَّنَتْ وَظَنَّ أَهْلُهَا أَنَّهُمْ قَادِرُونَ عَلَيْهَآ أَتَاهَا أَمْرُنَا لَيْلاً أَوْ نَهَارًا فَجَعَلْنَاهَا حَصِيدًا كَأَن لَّمْ تَغْنَ بِالْأَمْسِ كَذَلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |إنما - Only| مثل - (the) example| الحياة - (of) the life| الدنيا - (of) the world| كماء - (is) like (the) water| أنزلناه - which We sent down| من - from| السماء - the sky,| فاختلط - so absorbs| به - [with] it,| نبات - (the) plants| الأرض - (of) the earth| مما - from which| يأكل - eat| الناس - the men| والأنعام - and the cattle,| حتى - until| إذا - when| أخذت - takes| الأرض - the earth| زخرفها - its adornment| وازينت - and is beautified| وظن - and think| أهلها - its people| أنهم - that they| قادرون - have the power| عليها - over it,| أتاها - comes (to) it| أمرنا - Our command| ليلا - (by) night| أو - or| نهارا - (by) day,| فجعلناها - and We make it| حصيدا - a harvest clean-mown,| كأن - as if| لم - not| تغن - it had flourished| بالأمس - yesterday.| كذلك - Thus| نفصل - We explain| الآيات - the Signs| لقوم - for a people| يتفكرون - who reflect.| | ||||||
| 3 [36:23] | Aattakhithu min doonihi alihatanin yuridni alrrahmanu bidurrin la tughniAAannee shafaAAatuhum shay-an wala yunqithooni | أأتخذ من دونه آلهة إن يردن الرحمن بضر لا تغن عني شفاعتهم شيئا ولا ينقذون أَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِ آلِهَةً إِن يُرِدْنِ الرَّحْمَن بِضُرٍّ لاَّ تُغْنِ عَنِّي شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَلاَ يُنقِذُونِ | |||||
| Words | |أأتخذ - Should I take| من - besides Him| دونه - besides Him| آلهة - gods?| إن - If| يردن - intends for me| الرحمن - the Most Gracious| بضر - any harm| لا - not| تغن - will avail| عني - [from] me| شفاعتهم - their intercession| شيئا - (in) anything,| ولا - and not| ينقذون - they (can) save me.| | ||||||
| 4 [54:5] | Hikmatun balighatun famatughnee alnnuthuru | حكمة بالغة فما تغن النذر حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَةٌ فَمَا تُغْنِ النُّذُرُ | |||||
