| 1 [2:273] | Lilfuqara-i allatheena ohsiroofee sabeeli Allahi la yastateeAAoona darbanfee al-ardi yahsabuhumu aljahilu aghniyaamina alttaAAaffufi taAArifuhum biseemahum layas-aloona alnnasa ilhafan wamatunfiqoo min khayrin fa-inna Allaha bihi AAaleemun |  للفقراء الذين أحصروا في سبيل الله لا يستطيعون ضربا في الأرض يحسبهم الجاهل أغنياء من التعفف تعرفهم بسيماهم لا يسألون الناس إلحافا وما تنفقوا من خير فإن الله به عليملِلْفُقَرَاءِ الَّذِينَ أُحصِرُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ضَرْبًا فِي الأَرْضِ يَحْسَبُهُمُ الْجَاهِلُ أَغْنِيَاءَ مِنَ التَّعَفُّفِ تَعْرِفُهُم بِسِيمَاهُمْ لاَ يَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا وَمَا تُنفِقُواْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ بِهِ عَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |للفقراء - For the poor,| الذين - those who| أحصروا - are wrapped up| في - in| سبيل - (the) way| الله - (of) Allah,| لا - not| يستطيعون - they are able| ضربا - (to) move about| في - in| الأرض - the earth.| يحسبهم - Think (about) them,| الجاهل - the ignorant one,| أغنياء - (that they are) self-sufficient| من - (because) of| التعفف - (their) restraint,| تعرفهم - you recognize them| بسيماهم - by their mark.| لا - Not| يسألون - (do) they ask| الناس - the people| إلحافا - with importunity.| وما - And whatever| تنفقوا - you spend| من - of| خير - good,| فإن - then indeed,| الله - Allah| به - of it| عليم - (is) All-Knower.| | ||||||
| 2 [7:46] | Wabaynahuma hijabunwaAAala al-aAArafi rijalun yaAArifoonakullan biseemahum wanadaw as-habaaljannati an salamun AAalaykum lam yadkhuloohawahum yatmaAAoona | وبينهما حجاب وعلى الأعراف رجال يعرفون كلا بسيماهم ونادوا أصحاب الجنة أن سلام عليكم لم يدخلوها وهم يطمعون وَبَيْنَهُمَا حِجَابٌ وَعَلَى الْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالٌ يَعْرِفُونَ كُلاًّ بِسِيمَاهُمْ وَنَادَوْاْ أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ أَن سَلاَمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ لَمْ يَدْخُلُوهَا وَهُمْ يَطْمَعُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وبينهما - And between them| حجاب - (will be) a partition,| وعلى - and on| الأعراف - the heights| رجال - (will be) men| يعرفون - recognizing| كلا - all| بسيماهم - by their marks.| ونادوا - And they will call out| أصحاب - (to the) companions| الجنة - (of) Paradise| أن - that| سلام - "Peace| عليكم - (be) upon you."| لم - Not| يدخلوها - they have entered it| وهم - but they| يطمعون - hope.| | ||||||
| 3 [7:48] | Wanada as-habual-aAArafi rijalan yaAArifoonahum biseemahumqaloo ma aghna AAankum jamAAukum wamakuntum tastakbiroona | ونادى أصحاب الأعراف رجالا يعرفونهم بسيماهم قالوا ما أغنى عنكم جمعكم وما كنتم تستكبرون وَنَادَى أَصْحَابُ الْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالاً يَعْرِفُونَهُمْ بِسِيمَاهُمْ قَالُواْ مَا أَغْنَى عَنكُمْ جَمْعُكُمْ وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ونادى - And (will) call out| أصحاب - (the) companions| الأعراف - (of) the heights| رجالا - (to) men| يعرفونهم - whom they recognize| بسيماهم - by their marks| قالوا - saying,| ما - "Not| أغنى - (has) availed| عنكم - [to] you| جمعكم - your gathering| وما - and what| كنتم - you were| تستكبرون - arrogant (about)."| | ||||||
| 4 [47:30] | Walaw nashao laaraynakahumfalaAAaraftahum biseemahum walataAArifannahum fee lahnialqawli waAllahu yaAAlamu aAAmalakum | ولو نشاء لأريناكهم فلعرفتهم بسيماهم ولتعرفنهم في لحن القول والله يعلم أعمالكم وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَأَرَيْنَاكَهُمْ فَلَعَرَفْتَهُم بِسِيمَاهُمْ وَلَتَعْرِفَنَّهُمْ فِي لَحْنِ الْقَوْلِ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ أَعْمَالَكُمْ | |||||
| Words | |ولو - And if| نشاء - We willed| لأريناكهم - surely, We could show them to you| فلعرفتهم - and you would know them| بسيماهم - by their marks;| ولتعرفنهم - but surely, you will know them| في - by| لحن - (the) tone| القول - (of their) speech.| والله - And Allah| يعلم - knows| أعمالكم - your deeds.| | ||||||
| 5 [55:41] | YuAArafu almujrimoona biseemahumfayu/khathu bialnnawasee waal-aqdami | يعرف المجرمون بسيماهم فيؤخذ بالنواصي والأقدام يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالْأَقْدَامِ | |||||
| Words | |يعرف - Will be known| المجرمون - the criminals| بسيماهم - by their marks| فيؤخذ - and will be seized| بالنواصي - by the forelocks| والأقدام - and the feet.| | ||||||
