بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [2:273] | Lilfuqara-i allatheena ohsiroofee sabeeli Allahi la yastateeAAoona darbanfee al-ardi yahsabuhumu aljahilu aghniyaamina alttaAAaffufi taAArifuhum biseemahum layas-aloona alnnasa ilhafan wamatunfiqoo min khayrin fa-inna Allaha bihi AAaleemun
| للفقراء الذين أحصروا في سبيل الله لا يستطيعون ضربا في الأرض يحسبهم الجاهل أغنياء من التعفف تعرفهم بسيماهم لا يسألون الناس إلحافا وما تنفقوا من خير فإن الله به عليم لِلْفُقَرَاءِ الَّذِينَ أُحصِرُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ضَرْبًا فِي الأَرْضِ يَحْسَبُهُمُ الْجَاهِلُ أَغْنِيَاءَ مِنَ التَّعَفُّفِ تَعْرِفُهُم بِسِيمَاهُمْ لاَ يَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا وَمَا تُنفِقُواْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ بِهِ عَلِيمٌ |

| (የምትመጸውቱት) ለእነዚያ በአላህ መንገድ (ለመታገል ሲሉ) ለታገዱት ድኾች ነው፡፡ በምድር መኼድን አይችሉም፡፡ (ልመናን) ከመጥጠበቃቸው (የተነሳ) የማያውቅ ሰው ሀብታሞች ናቸው ብሎ ይጠረጥራቸዋል፡፡ በምልክታቸው ታውቃቸዋለህ፡፡ ሰዎችን በችክታ አይለምኑም፡፡ ከገንዘብም የምትለግሱት አላህ እርሱን ዐዋቂ ነው፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { للفقراء } خبر مبتدأ محذوف أي الصدقات { الذين أحصروا في سبيل الله } أي حبسوا أنفسهم على الجهاد، نزلت في أهل الصُّفَّةِ وهم أربعمائة من المهاجرين أرصدوا لتعلم القرآن والخروج مع السرايا { لا يستطيعون ضربا } سفرا { في الأرض } للتجارة والمعاش لشغلهم عنه بالجهاد { يحسبهم الجاهل } بحالهم { أغنياء من التعفف } أي لتعففهم عن السؤال وتركه { تعرفهم } يا مخاطب { بسيماهم } علامتهم من التواضع وأثر الجهد { لا يسألون الناس } شيئا فيلحفون { إلحافا } أي لا سؤال لهم أصلا فلا يقع منهم إلحاف وهو الإلحاح { وما تنفقوا من خير فإن الله به عليم } فمجاز عليه . |

মুহিউদ্দীন খান | খয়রাত ঐ সকল গরীব লোকের জন্যে যারা আল্লাহর পথে আবদ্ধ হয়ে গেছে-জীবিকার সন্ধানে অন্যত্র ঘোরাফেরা করতে সক্ষম নয়। অজ্ঞ লোকেরা যাঞ্চা না করার কারণে তাদেরকে অভাবমুক্ত মনে করে। তোমরা তাদেরকে তাদের লক্ষণ দ্বারা চিনবে। তারা মানুষের কাছে কাকুতি-মিনতি করে ভিক্ষা চায় না। তোমরা যে অর্থ ব্যয় করবে, তা আল্লাহ তা’আলা অবশ্যই পরিজ্ঞাত। |
Literal | For the poor , those who were restricted/surrounded in God's way/sake , they are not able (to go) moving/traveling in the earth/Planet Earth, the ignorant/foolish thinks/supposes them (as) rich from the purity/refrainment (dignity), you know them by their expressions/marks , they do not ask/question the people persistently , and what you spend from goodness/wealth , so that God (is) with it knowledgeable. |
Yusuf Ali | (Charity is) for those in need, who, in Allah's cause are restricted (from travel), and cannot move about in the land, seeking (For trade or work): the ignorant man thinks, because of their modesty, that they are free from want. Thou shalt know them by their (Unfailing) mark: They beg not importunately from all the sundry. And whatever of good ye give, be assured Allah knoweth it well. |
Pickthal | (Alms are) for the poor who are straitened for the cause of Allah, who cannot travel in the land (for trade). The unthinking man accounteth them wealthy because of their restraint. Thou shalt know them by their mark: They do not beg of men with importunity. And whatsoever good thing ye spend, lo! Allah knoweth it. |
Arberry | it being for the poor who are restrained in the way of God, and are unable to journey in the land; the ignorant man supposes them rich because of their abstinence, but thou shalt know them by their mark -- they do not beg of men importunately. And whatever good you expend, surely God has knowledge of it. |

Sarwar | (If the recipients of charity are) the poor whose poverty, because of their striving for the cause of God, has become an obstacle for them, and who do not have the ability to travel in the land, they seem rich compared to the ignorant, because of their modest behavior. You would know them by their faces. They would never earnestly ask people for help. God knows well whatever wealth you spend for the cause of God. |
H/K/Saheeh | [Charity is] for the poor who have been restricted for the cause of Allah, unable to move about in the land. An ignorant [person] would think them self-sufficient because of their restraint, but you will know them by their [characteristic] sign. They do not ask people persistently [or at all]. And whatever you spend of good indeed, Allah is Knowing of it. |
Malik | Charity is for those needy people who are engaged so much in the cause of Allah that they cannot move about in the land to earn their livelihood: the ignorant think that they are wealthy on account of their modest behavior. You can recognize them by their look because they do not make insistent demands on people. Whatever you spend on them, surely Allah knows it.[273] |

Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary | (اور ہاں تم جو خرچ کرو گے تو) ان حاجتمندوں کے لئے جو خدا کی راہ میں رکے بیٹھے ہیں اور ملک میں کسی طرف جانے کی طاقت نہیں رکھتے (اور مانگنے سے عار رکھتے ہیں) یہاں تک کہ نہ مانگنے کی وجہ سے ناواقف شخص ان کو غنی خیال کرتا ہے اور تم قیافے سے ان کو صاف پہچان لو (کہ حاجتمند ہیں اور شرم کے سبب) لوگوں سے (منہ پھوڑ کر اور) لپٹ کر نہیں مانگ سکتے اور تم جو مال خرچ کرو گے کچھ شک نہیں کہ خدا اس کو جانتا ہے |
