| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[72:16] | Waallawi istaqamoo AAala alttareeqatilaasqaynahum maan ghadaqan
|  وأن لو استقاموا على الطريقة لأسقيناهم ماء غدقا
وَأَلَّوِ اسْتَقَامُوا عَلَى الطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسْقَيْنَاهُم مَّاءً غَدَقًا |
| Words | |وأن - And that| لو - if| استقاموا - they had remained| على - on| الطريقة - the Way,| لأسقيناهم - surely We (would) have given them to drink| ماء - water| غدقا - (in) abundance,| |

| እነሆም በመንገዲቱ ላይ ቀጥ ባሉ ኖሮ ብዙ ዝናምን ባጠጣናቸው ነበር (ማለትም ተወረደልኝ)፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | قال تعالى في كفار مكة { وأنْ } مخففة من الثقيلة واسمها محذوف، أي وأنهم وهو معطوف على أنه استمع { لو استقاموا على الطريقة } أي طريقة الإسلام { لأسقيناهم ماء غدقا } كثيرا من السماء وذلك بعد ما رفع المطر عنهم سبع سنين. |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর এই প্রত্যাদেশ করা হয়েছে যে, তারা যদি সত্যপথে কায়েম থাকত, তবে আমি তাদেরকে প্রচুর পানি বর্ষণে সিক্ত করতাম। |
| Literal | 'And that if they became straight/direct on the way/path , we would have given them drink (from) water plentifully/abundantly.' |
| Yusuf Ali | (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. |
