[7:164] | Wa-ith qalat ommatun minhumlima taAAithoona qawman Allahu muhlikuhum awmuAAaththibuhum AAathaban shadeedan qaloomaAAthiratan ila rabbikum walaAAallahum yattaqoona
|  وإذ قالت أمة منهم لم تعظون قوما الله مهلكهم أو معذبهم عذابا شديدا قالوا معذرة إلى ربكم ولعلهم يتقون
وَإِذْ قَالَتْ أُمَّةٌ مِّنْهُمْ لِمَ تَعِظُونَ قَوْمًا اللّهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا قَالُواْ مَعْذِرَةً إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ |
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قالت - said| أمة - a community| منهم - among them,| لم - "Why| تعظون - (do) you preach| قوما - a people,| الله - (whom) Allah| مهلكهم - (is going to) destroy them| أو - or| معذبهم - punish them| عذابا - (with) a punishment| شديدا - severe?"| قالوا - They said,| معذرة - "To be absolved| إلى - before| ربكم - your Lord| ولعلهم - and that they may| يتقون - become righteous."| |

| ከእነሱም (ከፊሎቹ) ሕዝቦች «አላህ አጥፊያቸው ወይም በብርቱ ቅጣት ቀጪአቸው የኾኑትን ሕዝቦች ለምን ትገስፃጻላችሁ» ባሉ ጊዜ (ገሳጮቹ) «ወደ ጌታችሁ በቂ ምክንያት እንዲኾንና እነርሱም ቢከለከሉ ብለን ነው» አሉ፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وإذ } عطف على إذ قبله { قالت أمَّة منهم } لم تصد ولم تنهَ لمن نهى { لم تعظون قوما الله مُهلكهم أو معذبهم عذابا شديدا قالوا } موعظتنا { معذرة } نعتذر بها { إلى ربِّكم } لئلا ننسب إلى تقصير في ترك النهي { ولعلَّهم يتقون } الصيد . |
| Mi d inna lois, segsen: "iwumi la tepnabim agdud ara Isqucc Öebbi, ne$ ara Iâaqeb s leqseê"? Nnan: "d aste$feô ar Mass nnwen, amar ad êezzben". |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর যখন তাদের মধ্যে থেকে এক সম্প্রদায় বলল, কেন সে লোকদের সদুপদেশ দিচ্ছেন, যাদেরকে আল্লাহ ধ্বংস করে দিতে চান কিংবা আযাব দিতে চান কঠিন আযাব? সে বললঃ তোমাদের পালনকর্তার সামনে দোষ ফুরাবার জন্য এবং এজন্য যেন তারা ভীত হয়। |
| Literal | And when a nation from them said: "Why/for what (do) you preach/advise/warn a nation God (is) making them die/destroying them or torturing them, a strong (severe) torture." They said: "An apology/excuse to your Lord and maybe/perhaps they fear and obey." |
