بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [6:124] | Wa-itha jaat-hum ayatunqaloo lan nu/mina hatta nu/ta mithlama ootiya rusulu Allahi Allahu aAAlamu haythuyajAAalu risalatahu sayuseebu allatheenaajramoo sagharun AAinda Allahi waAAathabunshadeedun bima kanoo yamkuroona
| وإذا جاءتهم آية قالوا لن نؤمن حتى نؤتى مثل ما أوتي رسل الله الله أعلم حيث يجعل رسالته سيصيب الذين أجرموا صغار عند الله وعذاب شديد بما كانوا يمكرون وَإِذَا جَاءَتْهُمْ آيَةٌ قَالُواْ لَن نُّؤْمِنَ حَتَّى نُؤْتَى مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ رُسُلُ اللّهِ اللّهُ أَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ يَجْعَلُ رِسَالَتَهُ سَيُصِيبُ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُواْ صَغَارٌ عِندَ اللّهِ وَعَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَمْكُرُونَ |
Words | |وإذا - And when| جاءتهم - comes to them| آية - a Sign| قالوا - they say,| لن - "Never| نؤمن - we will believe| حتى - until| نؤتى - we are given| مثل - like| ما - what| أوتي - was given| رسل - (to the) Messengers| الله - (of) Allah."| الله - Allah| أعلم - knows best| حيث - where| يجعل - He places| رسالته - His Message.| سيصيب - Will afflict| الذين - those who| أجرموا - committed crimes| صغار - a humiliation| عند - from| الله - Allah| وعذاب - and a punishment| شديد - severe| بما - for what| كانوا - they used to| يمكرون - plot.| |

| ተዓምርም በመጣቻቸው ጊዜ፡- «የአላህ መልክተኞች የተሰጡትን ብጤ እስክንሰጥ ድረስ በፍጹም አናምንም» አሉ፡፡ አላህ መልክቱን የሚያደርግበትን ስፍራ ዐዋቂ ነው፡፡ እነዚያን ያመጹትን ሰዎች ይዶልቱ በነበሩት ነገር አላህ ዘንድ ውርደትና ብርቱ ቅጣት ያገኛቸዋል፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { وإذا جاءتهم } أي أهل مكة { آية } على صدق النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم { قالوا لن نؤمن } به { حتى نؤتى مثل ما أوتي رسلُ الله } من الرسالة والوحي إلينا لأنا أكثر مالا وأكبر سنّا قال تعالى: { الله أعلم حيث يجعل رِسَالاَتِهِ } بالجمع والإفراد وحيث مفعول به لفعل دل عليه أعلم: أي يعلم الموضع الصالح لوضعها فيه فيضعها وهؤلاء ليسوا أهلا لها { سيصيب الذين أجرموا } بقولهم ذلك { صغار } ذلٌ { عند الله وعذاب شديد بما كانوا يمكرون } أي بسبب مكرهم . |

মুহিউদ্দীন খান | যখন তাদের কাছে কোন আয়াত পৌঁছে, তখন বলে, আমরা কখনই মানব না যে, পর্যন্ত না আমরাও তা প্রদত্ত হই, যা আল্লাহর রসূলগণ প্রদত্ত হয়েছেন। আল্লাহ এ বিষয়ে সুপারিজ্ঞাত যে, কোথায় স্বীয় পয়গাম প্রেরণ করতে হবে। যারা অপরাধ করছে, তারা অতিসত্বর আল্লাহর কাছে পৌছে লাঞ্ছনা ও কঠোর শাস্তি পাবে, তাদের চক্রান্তের কারণে। |
Literal | And if an evidence/verse came to them, they said: "We will never/not believe until we be given/brought similar/equal/alike (to) what was given/brought (to) God's messengers." God (is) more knowing where/when He makes/puts His message, those who committed a sin/crime will be struck/marked (with) humiliation/lowliness/subservience at God, and strong (severe) torture because (of) what they were cheating/deceiving. |
Yusuf Ali | When there comes to them a sign (from Allah), They say: "We shall not believe until we receive one (exactly) like those received by Allah's messengers." Allah knoweth best where (and how) to carry out His mission. Soon will the wicked be overtaken by humiliation before Allah, and a severe punishment, for all their plots. |
Pickthal | And when a token cometh unto them, they say: We will not believe till we are given that which Allah's messengers are given. Allah knoweth best with whom to place His message. Humiliation from Allah and heavy punishment will smite the guilty for their scheming. |
Arberry | And when a sign came to them, they said, 'We will not believe until we are given the like of what God's Messengers were given.' God knows very well where to place His Message; and humiliation in God's sight shall befall the sinners, and a terrible chastisement, for what they devised. |
Shakir | And when a communication comes to them they say: We will not believe till we are given the like of what Allah's messengers are given. Allah best knows where He places His message. There shall befall those who are guilty humiliation from Allah and severe chastisement because of what they planned. |
Sarwar | When a miracle is shown to them, they say, "We will not believe unless we are shown a miracle like that shown to the messengers of God." God knows best whom to appoint as His Messenger. The sinful ones are worthless in the sight of God and they deserve a severe punishment for their evil plans. |
H/K/Saheeh | And when a sign comes to them, they say, "Never will we believe until we are given like that which was given to the messengers of Allah." Allah is most knowing of where He places His message. There will afflict those who committed crimes debasement before Allah and severe punishment for what they used to conspire. |
Malik | Whenever there comes to them a sign (verses of The Qur'an) they say: "We shall not believe until we are given directly that which is given to the Messengers of Allah." Allah knows best to whom He should give His Message. Soon these criminals will be overtaken by humiliation and by a severe punishment from Allah for their evil plots.[124] |

Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary | اور جب ان کے پاس کوئی آیت آتی ہے تو کہتے ہیں کہ جس طرح کی رسالت خدا کے پیغمبروں کو ملی ہے جب تک اسی طرح کی رسالت ہم کو نہ ملے ہم ہرگز ایمان نہیں لائیں گے اس کو خدا ہی خوب جانتا ہے کہ (رسالت کا کون سا محل ہے اور) وہ اپنی پیغمبری کسے عنایت فرمائے جو لوگ جرم کرتے ہیں ان کو خدا کے ہاں ذلّت اور عذابِ شدید ہوگا اس لیے کہ مکّاریاں کرتے تھے |

Abul Ala Maududi | جب ان کے سامنے کوئی آیت آتی ہے تو وہ کہتے ہیں "ہم نہ مانیں گے جب تک کہ وہ چیز خود ہم کو نہ دی جائے جو اللہ کے رسولوں کو دی گئی ہے" اللہ زیادہ بہتر جانتا ہے کہ اپنی پیغامبری کا کام کس سے لے اور کس طرح لے قریب ہے وہ وقت جب یہ مجرم اپنی مکاریوں کی پاداش میں اللہ کے ہاں ذلت اور سخت عذاب سے دو چار ہوں گے |
