| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[6:123] | Wakathalika jaAAalna feekulli qaryatin akabira mujrimeeha liyamkuroo feehawama yamkuroona illa bi-anfusihim wamayashAAuroona
|  وكذلك جعلنا في كل قرية أكابر مجرميها ليمكروا فيها وما يمكرون إلا بأنفسهم وما يشعرون
وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَا فِي كُلِّ قَرْيَةٍ أَكَابِرَ مُجْرِمِيهَا لِيَمْكُرُواْ فِيهَا وَمَا يَمْكُرُونَ إِلاَّ بِأَنفُسِهِمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ |
| Words | |وكذلك - And thus| جعلنا - We placed| في - in| كل - every| قرية - city| أكابر - greatest| مجرميها - (of) its criminals,| ليمكروا - so that they plot| فيها - therein.| وما - And not| يمكرون - they plot| إلا - except| بأنفسهم - against themselves| وما - and not| يشعرون - they perceive.| |

| እንደዚሁም በየከተማይቱ በውስጧ ያሴሩ ዘንድ የተንኮለኞችዋን ታላላቆች አደረግን፡፡ በነፍሶቻቸውም ላይ እንጅ በሌላ ላይ አያሴሩም፤ ግን አያውቁም፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وكذلك } كما جعلنا فُسَّاق مكة أكابرها { جعلنا في كل قرية أكابر مجرميها ليمكروا فيها } بالصد عن الإيمان { وما يمكرون إلا بأنفسهم } لأن وباله عليهم { وما يشعرون } بذلك . |
| Akka ay Nerra, ad ppandin di yal tamdint, ibe$wviyen is, uqsiêen mavi. Ppandin kan i iman nnsen, ur faqen. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর এমনিভাবে আমি প্রত্যেক জনপদে অপরাধীদের জন্য কিছু সর্দার নিয়োগ করেছি-যেন তারা সেখানে চক্রান্ত করে। তাদের সে চক্রান্ত তাদের নিজেদের বিরুদ্ধেই; কিন্তু তারা তা উপলব্ধি করতে পারে না। |
| Literal | And like that We made/put in every village/urban city its greatest/bigger criminals/sinners to cheat/deceive in it, and they do not cheat/deceive except with themselves, and they do not feel/know . |
| Yusuf Ali | Thus have We placed leaders in every town, its wicked men, to plot (and burrow) therein: but they only plot against their own souls, and they perceive it not. |
| Pickthal | And thus have We made in every city great ones of its wicked ones, that they should plot therein. They do but plot against themselves, though they perceive not. |
| Arberry | And even so We appointed in every city great ones among its sinners, to devise there; but they devised only against themselves, and they were not aware. |
