| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[39:50] | Qad qalaha allatheenamin qablihim fama aghna AAanhum ma kanooyaksiboona
|  قد قالها الذين من قبلهم فما أغنى عنهم ما كانوا يكسبون
قَدْ قَالَهَا الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ |
| Words | |قد - Indeed,| قالها - said it| الذين - those| من - before them,| قبلهم - before them,| فما - but (did) not| أغنى - avail| عنهم - them| ما - what| كانوا - they used to| يكسبون - earn.| |

| እነዚያ ከእነርሱ በፊት የነበሩት ሕዝቦች በእርግጥ ብለዋታል፡፡ ይሠሩት የነበሩትም ነገር ከእነርሱ አልጠቀማቸውም፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { قد قالها الذين من قبلهم } من الأمم كقارون وقومه الراضين بها { فما أغنى عنهم ما كانوا يكسبون } . |
| Ni$ nnan t id imezwura nnsen. Acu i sen d ibbwi wayen keppben? |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরাও তাই বলত, অতঃপর তাদের কৃতকর্ম তাদের কোন উপকারে আসেনি। |
| Literal | Those from before them had said it, so what they were gaining/acquiring did not enrich/suffice from them. |
| Yusuf Ali | Thus did the (generations) before them say! But all that they did was of no profit to them. |
