| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[33:15] | Walaqad kanoo AAahadoo Allahamin qablu la yuwalloona al-adbara wakanaAAahdu Allahi mas-oolan
|  ولقد كانوا عاهدوا الله من قبل لا يولون الأدبار وكان عهد الله مسئولا
وَلَقَدْ كَانُوا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ الْأَدْبَارَ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ اللَّهِ مَسْؤُولًا |
| Words | |ولقد - And certainly| كانوا - they had| عاهدوا - promised| الله - Allah| من - before,| قبل - before,| لا - not| يولون - they would turn| الأدبار - their backs.| وكان - And is| عهد - (the) promise| الله - (to) Allah| مسئولا - to be questioned.| |

| ጀርባዎችንም ላያዞሩ ከዚያ በፊት በእርግጥ አላህን ቃል ኪዳን የተጋቡ ነበሩ፡፡ የአላህም ቃል ኪዳን የሚጠየቁበት ነው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ولقد كانوا عاهدوا الله من قبل لا يولون الأدبار وكان عهد الله مسؤولا} عن الوفاء به. |
| Ni$ llan âuhden s Öebbi, uqbel, ar ur ppu$alen ar deffir. Aâahed s Öebbi ad ippuqeîîi! |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | অথচ তারা পূর্বে আল্লাহর সাথে অঙ্গীকার করেছিল যে, তারা পৃষ্ঠ প্রদর্শন করবে না। আল্লাহর অঙ্গীকার সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞাসা করা হবে। |
| Literal | And they were had been (E) they promised God from before (they had before promised God that) they do not turn away (on) the backs/ends, and God's promise was questioned. |
| Yusuf Ali | And yet they had already covenanted with Allah not to turn their backs, and a covenant with Allah must (surely) be answered for. |
| Pickthal | And verily they had already sworn unto Allah that they would not turn their backs (to the foe). An oath to Allah must be answered for. |
