[24:55] | WaAAada Allahu allatheena amanoominkum waAAamiloo alssalihatilayastakhlifannahum fee al-ardi kama istakhlafaallatheena min qablihim walayumakkinanna lahum deenahumuallathee irtada lahum walayubaddilannahum minbaAAdi khawfihim amnan yaAAbudoonanee la yushrikoona beeshay-an waman kafara baAAda thalika faola-ika humualfasiqoona
|  وعد الله الذين آمنوا منكم وعملوا الصالحات ليستخلفنهم في الأرض كما استخلف الذين من قبلهم وليمكنن لهم دينهم الذي ارتضى لهم وليبدلنهم من بعد خوفهم أمنا يعبدونني لا يشركون بي شيئا ومن كفر بعد ذلك فأولئك هم الفاسقون
وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُم فِي الْأَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ الَّذِي ارْتَضَى لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّن بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًا يَعْبُدُونَنِي لَا يُشْرِكُونَ بِي شَيْئًا وَمَن كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ |
| Words | |وعد - Allah (has) promised| الله - Allah (has) promised| الذين - those who| آمنوا - believe| منكم - among you| وعملوا - and do| الصالحات - righteous deeds,| ليستخلفنهم - surely He will grant them succession| في - in| الأرض - the earth,| كما - as| استخلف - He gave succession| الذين - to those who| من - (were) before them,| قبلهم - (were) before them,| وليمكنن - and that He will surely establish| لهم - for them| دينهم - their religion| الذي - which| ارتضى - He has approved| لهم - for them,| وليبدلنهم - and surely He will change for them| من - after| بعد - after| خوفهم - their fear,| أمنا - security| يعبدونني - (for) they worship Me,| لا - not| يشركون - they associate| بي - with Me| شيئا - anything.| ومن - But whoever| كفر - disbelieved| بعد - after| ذلك - that,| فأولئك - then those| هم - [they]| الفاسقون - (are) the defiantly disobedient.| |

| አላህ እነዚያን ከእናንተ ያመኑትንና መልካም ሥራዎችን የሠሩትን እነዚያን ከእነሱ በፊት የነበሩትን እንደተካ በምድር ለይ በእርግጥ ሊተካቸው፣ ለእነሱም ያንን የወደደላቸውን ሃይማኖታቸውን ሊያደላድልላቸው፣ ከፍርሃታቸውም በኋላ ጸጥታን ሊለውጥላቸው ተስፋን ቃል ሰጥቷቸዋል፡፡ በእኔ ምንንም የማያጋሩ ኾነው ይግገዙኛል፡፡ ከዚያም በኋላ የካደ ሰው እነዚያ እነርሱ አመጸኞች ናቸው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وعد الله الذين آمنوا منكم وعملوا الصالحات ليستخلفنهم في الأرض } بدلا عن الكفار { كما استخلف } بالبناء للفاعل والمفعول { الذين من قبلهم } من بنى إسرائيل بدلا عن الجبارة { وليمكنن لهم دينهم الذي أرتضى لهم } وهو الإسلام بأن يظهر على جميع الأديان ويوسع لهم في البلاد فيملكوها { وَلَيُبْدلَنَّهُمْ } بالتخفيف والتشديد { من بعد خوفهم } من الكفار { أمنا } وقد أنجز الله وعده لهم بما ذكر وأثنى عليهم بقوله: { يعبدونني لا يشركون بي شيئا } هو مستأنف في حكم التعليل { ومن كفر بعد ذلك } الإنعام منهم به { فأولئك هم الفاسقون } وأول من كفر به قتلة عثمان رضي الله عنه فصاروا يقتتلون بعد أن كانوا إخوانا . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | তোমাদের মধ্যে যারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে ও সৎকর্ম করে, আল্লাহ তাদেরকে ওয়াদা দিয়েছেন যে, তাদেরকে অবশ্যই পৃথিবীতে শাসনকর্তৃত্ব দান করবেন। যেমন তিনি শাসনকতৃêত্ব দান করেছেন তাদের পূর্ববতীদেরকে এবং তিনি অবশ্যই সুদৃঢ় করবেন তাদের ধর্মকে, যা তিনি তাদের জন্যে পছন্দ করেছেন এবং তাদের ভয়-ভীতির পরিবর্তে অবশ্যই তাদেরকে শান্তি দান করবেন। তারা আমার এবাদত করবে এবং আমার সাথে কাউকে শরীক করবে না। এরপর যারা অকৃতজ্ঞ হবে, তারাই অবাধ্য। |
| Literal | God promised those who believed from you, and made/did the correct/righteous deeds, He makes them successors in the earth/Planet Earth, as He made successors those from before them, and to highly position/strengthen (E) for them their religion which He accepted/approved for them, He will exchange/replace them (E) safety/security from after their fear/fright, they worship Me, they do not share/made partners with Me a thing, and who disbelieved after that, so those are the debauchers . |
| Yusuf Ali | Allah has promised, to those among you who believe and work righteous deeds, that He will, of a surety, grant them in the land, inheritance (of power), as He granted it to those before them; that He will establish in authority their religion - the one which He has chosen for them; and that He will change (their state), after the fear in which they (lived), to one of security and peace: 'They will worship Me (alone) and not associate aught with Me. 'If any do reject Faith after this, they are rebellious and wicked. |

He will make the religion that He has chosen for them to stand supreme. He will replace their fear with peace and security so that they will worship God alone and consider no one equal to Him. Whoever becomes an unbeliever after this will be a sinful person. |

| Asad | God has promised those of you who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds that, of a certainty, He will cause them to accede to power on earth, [Lit., "cause them to be successors on earth" - i.e., enable them to achieve, in their turn, power and security and, thus, the capability to satisfy their worldly needs, this Quranic reference to God's "promise" contains an oblique allusion to the God-willed natural law which invariably makes the rise and fall of nations dependent on their moral qualities.] even as He caused [some of] those who lived before them to accede to it; and that, of a certainty, He will firmly establish for them the religion which He has been pleased to bestow on them; [Cf. 5:3 "I have willed that self-surrender unto Me (al-islam) shall be your religion". Its firm establishment (tamkin) relates to the strengthening of the believers' faith as well as to the growth of its moral influence in the world.] and that, of a certainty, He will cause their erstwhile state of fear to be replaced by a sense of security [Lit., "exchange for them, after their fear [or "danger"] security". It is to be noted that the term amn signifies not merely outward, physical security but also - and, indeed, originally - "freedom from fear" (Taj al-Arus). Hence, the above clause implies not only a promise of communal security after an initial period of weakness and danger (which, as history tells us, overshadows the beginnings of every genuine religious movement), but also the promise of an individual sense of inner security - that absence of all fear of the Unknown, which characterizes a true believer. (See next note.)] - [seeing that] they worship Me [alone], not ascribing divine powers to aught beside Me. [I.e., the believer's freedom from fear is a direct outcome of his intellectual and emotional refusal to attribute to anyone or anything but God the power to shape his destiny.] But all who, after [having understood] this, choose to deny the truth - it is they, they who are truly iniquitous! |
| Khalifa** | GOD promises those among you who believe and lead a righteous life, that He will make them sovereigns on earth, as He did for those before them, and will establish for them the religion He has chosen for them, and will substitute peace and security for them in place of fear. All this because they worship Me alone; they never set up any idols beside Me. Those who disbelieve after this are the truly wicked. |
| Hilali/Khan** | Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fasiqoon (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). |
