بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Aw kathulumatin fee bahrinlujjiyyin yaghshahu mawjun min fawqihi mawjun min fawqihisahabun thulumatun baAAduhafawqa baAAdin itha akhraja yadahu lam yakad yarahawaman lam yajAAali Allahu lahu nooran fama lahu minnoorin

أو كظلمات في بحر لجي يغشاه موج من فوقه موج من فوقه سحاب ظلمات بعضها فوق بعض إذا أخرج يده لم يكد يراها ومن لم يجعل الله له نورا فما له من نور
أَوْ كَظُلُمَاتٍ فِي بَحْرٍ لُّجِّيٍّ يَغْشَاهُ مَوْجٌ مِّن فَوْقِهِ مَوْجٌ مِّن فَوْقِهِ سَحَابٌ ظُلُمَاتٌ بَعْضُهَا فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ إِذَا أَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ لَمْ يَكَدْ يَرَاهَا وَمَن لَّمْ يَجْعَلِ اللَّهُ لَهُ نُورًا فَمَا لَهُ مِن نُّورٍ

Words

ወይም (መጥፎ ሥራዎቻቸውን) ከበላዩ ደመና ያለበት ማዕበል በሚሸፈነው ጥልቅ ባህር ውስጥ እንዳሉ ጨለማዎች ነው፡፡ (እነዚያ) ከፊላቸው ከከፊሉ በላይ ድርብርብ የኾኑ ጨለማዎች ናቸው፡፡ (በዚህች) የተሞከረ (ሰው) እጁን ባወጣ ጊዜ ሊያያት አይቀርብም፡፡ አላህም ለእርሱ ብርሃንን ያላደረገለት ሰው ለእርሱ ምንም ብርሃን የለውም፡፡

آل الجلالين

{ أو } الذين كفروا أعمالهم السيئة { كظلمات في بحر لجَّي } عميق { يغشاه موج من فوقه } أي الموج { موج من فوقه } أي الموج الثاني { سحاب } أي غيم، هذه { ظلمات بعضها فوق بعض } ظلمة البحر وظلمة الموج الأول، وظلمة الثاني وظلمة السحاب { إذا أخرج } الناظر { يده } في هذه الظلمات { لم يكد يراها } أي لم يقرب من رؤيتها { ومن لم يجعل الله له نورا فما له من نور } أي من لم يهده الله لم يهتد .

মুহিউদ্দীন খান

অথবা (তাদের কর্ম) প্রমত্ত সমুদ্রের বুকে গভীর অন্ধকারের ন্যায়, যাকে উদ্বেলিত করে তরঙ্গের উপর তরঙ্গ, যার উপরে ঘন কালো মেঘ আছে। একের উপর এক অন্ধকার। যখন সে তার হাত বের করে, তখন তাকে একেবারেই দেখতে পায় না। আল্লাহ যাকে জ্যোতি দেন না, তার কোন জ্যোতিই নেই।

Literal

Or as darknesses in a wide roaring and noisy sea/ocean , waves/surges cover/darken him/it , from above it waves/surges, from above it clouds, darknesses, some of it (is) above some, if he brought out his hand he is not about to/almost see it, and who God did not make/put for him light, so (there is) none from light (is) to/for him.

Or (the Unbelievers' state) is like the depths of darkness in a vast deep ocean, overwhelmed with billow topped by billow, topped by (dark) clouds: depths of darkness, one above another: if a man stretches out his hands, he can hardly see it! for any to whom Allah giveth not light, there is no light!

Or as darkness on a vast, abysmal sea. There covereth him a wave, above which is a wave, above which is a cloud. Layer upon layer of darkness. When he holdeth out his hand he scarce can see it. And he for whom Allah hath not appointed light, for him there is no light.

or they are as shadows upon a sea obscure covered by a billow above which is a billow above which are clouds, shadows piled one upon another; when he puts forth his hand, wellnigh he cannot see it. And to whomsoever God assigns no light, no light has he.

Or like utter darkness in the deep sea: there covers it a wave above which is another wave, above which is a cloud, (layers of) utter darkness one above another; when he holds out his hand, he is almost unable to see it; and to whomsoever Allah does not give light, he has no light.

Or it (the deeds of the unbelievers) are like the darkness of a deep, stormy sea with layers of giant waves, covered by dark clouds. It is darkness upon darkness whereby even if one stretches out his hands he can not see them. One can have no light unless God gives him light.

Or [they are] like darknesses within an unfathomable sea which is covered by waves, upon which are waves, over which are clouds darknesses, some of them upon others. When one puts out his hand [therein], he can hardly see it. And he to whom Allah has not granted light for him there is no light.

Or another parable of unbelievers' efforts is that of a person trying to swim in a bottomless ocean overwhelmed with billows, one over the other, overcast with dark clouds - layers of utter darkness one above another - so much so that if he stretches out his hand, he can hardly see it. The one to whom Allah does not give light, will have no light![40]

Or, as the darkness in a deep sea, covered by waves riding on waves, above which are clouds, being additions of darkness one over the other; when one stretcheth forth his hand, he is far from seeing it. And unto whomsoever God shall not grant his light, he shall enjoy no light at all.

Another allegory is that of being in total darkness in the midst of a violent ocean, with waves upon waves, in addition to thick fog. Darkness upon darkness - if he looked at his own hand, he could barely see it. Whomever GOD deprives of light, will have no light.

Or (the state of a disbeliever) is like the darkness in a vast deep sea, overwhelmed with a great wave topped by a great wave, topped by dark clouds, darkness, one above another, if a man stretches out his hand, he can hardly see it! And he for whom Allah has not appointed light, for him there is no light.

Na sadn sa di snggayan o Allah sa bagian iyan sa sindaw, na da a bagian iyan a sindaw!

یا جیسے اندھیریاں کسی کنڈے کے (گہرائی والے) دریا میں اس کے اوپر موج مو ج کے اوپر اور موج اس کے اوپر بادل، اندھیرے ہیں ایک پر ایک جب اپنا ہاتھ نکالے تو سوجھائی دیتا معلوم نہ ہو اور جسے اللہ نور نہ دے اس کے لیے کہیں نور نہیں

یا ان کی مثال ایسی ہے جیسے تاریکیاں ہوں ایک گہرے سمندر میں چھائی ہُوئی ہو اس پر ایک موج اُس کے اُوپر ایک اور موج ہو اور اس کے اُوپر بادل ہوں (گویا کہ) تاریکیاں ہیں ایک دوسرے پر (چھائی ہُوئیں) جب نکالے کوئی اپنا ہاتھ تو نہ دیکھ پائے اُسے اور وہ شخص کو نہ بخشے اللہ اس کو روشنی تو نہیں پائے گا وہ (کہیں بھی) روشنی۔

یا (ان کے اعمال کی مثال ایسی ہے) جیسے دریائے عمیق میں اندھیرے جس پر لہر چڑھی چلی آتی ہو اور اس کے اوپر اور لہر (آرہی ہو) اور اس کے اوپر بادل ہو، غرض اندھیرے ہی اندھیرے ہوں، ایک پر ایک (چھایا ہوا) جب اپنا ہاتھ نکالے تو کچھ نہ دیکھ سکے۔ اور جس کو خدا روشنی نہ دے اس کو (کہیں بھی) روشنی نہیں (مل سکتی)

یا جیسے اندھیرے گہرے دریا میں چڑھی آتی ہے اس پر ایک لہر اس پر ایک اور لہر اس کے اوپر بادل اندھیرے ہیں ایک پر ایک جب نکالے اپنا ہاتھ لگتا نہیں کہ اس کو وہ سوجھے اور جسکو اللہ نے نہ دی روشنی اسکے واسطے کہیں نہیں روشنی

یا پھر اس کی مثال ایسی ہے جیسے ایک گہرے سمندر میں اندھیرا، کہ اوپر ایک موج چھائی ہوئی ہے، اُس پر ایک اور موج، اور اس کے اوپر بادل، تاریکی پر تاریکی مسلط ہے، آدمی اپنا ہاتھ نکالے تو اسے بھی نہ دیکھنے پائے جسے اللہ نور نہ بخشے اُس کے لیے پھر کوئی نور نہیں

یا جیسے گہرے دریا میں اندھیرے ہوں اس پر ایک لہر چڑھ آتی ہے اس پرایک او رلہر ہے اس کے اوپر بادل ہے اوپر تلے بہت سے اندھیرے ہیں جب اپنا ہاتھ نکالے تو اسے کچھ بھی دیکھ نہ سکے اور جسے الله ہی نے نور نہ دیا ہو اس کے لیے کہیں نور نہیں ہے
