| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[21:44] | Bal mattaAAna haola-iwaabaahum hatta talaAAalayhimu alAAumuru afala yarawna anna na/teeal-arda nanqusuha min atrafihaafahumu alghaliboona
|  بل متعنا هؤلاء وآباءهم حتى طال عليهم العمر أفلا يرون أنا نأتي الأرض ننقصها من أطرافها أفهم الغالبون
بَلْ مَتَّعْنَا هَؤُلَاءِ وَآبَاءَهُمْ حَتَّى طَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعُمُرُ أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّا نَأْتِي الْأَرْضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا أَفَهُمُ الْغَالِبُونَ |
| Words | |بل - Nay,| متعنا - We gave provision| هؤلاء - (to) these| وآباءهم - and their fathers| حتى - until| طال - grew long| عليهم - for them,| العمر - the life.| أفلا - Then do not| يرون - they see| أنا - that We| نأتي - We come| الأرض - (to) the land,| ننقصها - We reduce it| من - from| أطرافها - its borders?| أفهم - So is (it) they| الغالبون - (who will be) overcoming?| |

| በእውነት እነዚህንና አባቶቻቸውን በእነሱ ላይ ዕድሜ እስከ ረዘመባቸው ድረስ አጣቀምናቸው፡፡ (ተታለሉም)፡፡ እኛ ምድርን ከጫፎችዋ የምናጎላት ኾነን ስንመጣባት አያዩምን እነሱ አሸናፊዎች ናቸውን |
| آل الجلالين | { بل متعنا هؤلاء وآباءهم } بما أنعمنا عليهم { حتى طال عليهم العمر } فاغتروا بذلك { أفلا يرون أنا نأتي الأرض } نقصد أرضهم { ننقصها من أطرافها } بالفتح على النبي { أفهم الغالبون } ؟ لا، بل النبي وأصحابه . |
| Xaîi! Nestaser i wigi akked imezwura nnsen, ar tewser nnsen. Day ur walan ara, Neppas ed ar tmurt, Nessenqas si leryaf is? Day d Nitni ara irebêen? |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | বরং আমি তাদেরকে এবং তাদের বাপ-দাদাকে ভোগসম্বার দিয়েছিলাম, এমনকি তাদের আয়ুস্কালও দীর্ঘ হয়েছিল। তারা কি দেখে না যে, আমি তাদের দেশকে চতুর্দিক থেকে হ্রাস করে আনছি। এরপরও কি তারা বিজয়ী হবে? |
| Literal | But We gave long life/made those enjoy, and their fathers, until the lifetime became long/lasted long on them, so do they not see/understand that We come/bring (to) the earth/Planet Earth, We reduce/decrease/lessen it from its ends/edges, so are they the defeaters/conquerors? |
| Yusuf Ali | Nay, We gave the good things of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them; See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will win? |
| Pickthal | Nay, but We gave these and their fathers ease until life grew long for them. See they not how we aim to the land, reducing it of its outlying parts? Can they then be the victors? |

| Sarwar | We have been providing these men and their fathers with the means of enjoyment for a long time. Have they not ever considered that We populated the earth and then caused many of the inhabitants to pass away? Can they have any success (in their wickedness)? |
| H/K/Saheeh | But, [on the contrary], We have provided good things for these [disbelievers] and their fathers until life was prolonged for them. Then do they not see that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? So it is they who will overcome? |
| Malik | The fact is that We gave the good things of this life to them and their forefathers until they got used to these things because of their prolonged lives; can they not see how We gradually reduce the land which was in their control and curtail it from all sides? Do they still expect to be victorious against Us?[44] |

| Asad | Nay, We have allowed these [sinners] - as [We allowed] their forebears - to enjoy the good things of life for a great length of time: [Lit., "until their lives (umur) grew long" - i.e., until they grew accustomed to the thought that their prosperity would last forever (Zamakhshari).] but then - have they never yet seen how We visit the earth [with Our punishment], gradually depriving it of all that is best thereon? | Khalifa** | We have provided for these people and their ancestors, up until an old age. Do they not see that every day on earth brings them closer to the end? Can they reverse this process? |
