| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[21:100] | Lahum feeha zafeerun wahum feehala yasmaAAoona
|  لهم فيها زفير وهم فيها لا يسمعون
لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيْرٌ وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يَسْمَعُونَ |
| Words | |لهم - For them| فيها - therein| زفير - (is) sighing,| وهم - and they| فيها - therein| لا - not| يسمعون - will hear.| |

| ለእነርሱ በእርሷ ውስጥ መንሰቅሰቅ አላቸው፡፡ እነርሱም በውስጧ (ምንንም) አይሰሙም፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { لهم } للعابدين { فيها زفير وهم فيها لا يسمعون } شيئاً لشدة غليانها . ونزل لما قال ابن الزبعري عبد عزير والمسيح والملائكة فهم في النار على مقتضى ما تقدم . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | তারা সেখানে চীৎকার করবে এবং সেখানে তারা কিছুই শুনতে পাবে না। |
| Literal | For them in it (is the) sound of blazing or roaring fire , and they (are) in it not hearing/listening. |
| Yusuf Ali | There, sobbing will be their lot, nor will they there hear (aught else). |
| Pickthal | Therein wailing is their portion, and therein they hear not. |
| Arberry | there shall be sighing for them therein, and naught they shall hear. |

[Thus, spiritual "deafness" in the life to come will be the inexorable consequence of ones having remained deaf, in this world, to the voice of truth, just as "blindness" and oblivion will be part of the suffering of all who have been spiritually blind to the truth (cf. 20:124 - 126). |
