| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[20:89] | Afala yarawna alla yarjiAAuilayhim qawlan wala yamliku lahum darran walanafAAan
|  أفلا يرون ألا يرجع إليهم قولا ولا يملك لهم ضرا ولا نفعا
أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَلَّا يَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهِمْ قَوْلًا وَلَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا |
| Words | |أفلا - Then, did not| يرون - they see| ألا - that not| يرجع - it (could) return| إليهم - to them| قولا - a word| ولا - and not| يملك - possess| لهم - for them| ضرا - any harm| ولا - and not| نفعا - any benefit?| |

| ወደእነሱ ንግግርን የማይመልስ ለእነሱም ጉዳትንና ጥቅምን የማይችል መኾኑን አያዩምን |
| آل الجلالين | ( أفلا يرون أ ) أن مخففة من الثقيلة واسمها محذوف أي أنه ( لا يرجع ) العجل ( إليهم قولاً ) أي لا يرد لهم جوابا ( ولا يملك لهم ضرا ) أي دفعه ( ولا نفعا ) أي جلبه أي فكيف يتخذ إلها ؟ |
| Day ur walan ara, ur asen d ippara awal, ur izmir a ten ivuôô, ne$ a ten infaâ? |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | তারা কি দেখে না যে, এটা তাদের কোন কথার উত্তর দেয় না এবং তারে কোন ক্ষতি ও উপকার করার ক্ষমতাও রাখে না? |
| Literal | So do they not see/understand that it (does) not return to them a saying/words , and nor own/possess for them harm, and nor benefit/usefulness? |
