بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [2:20] | Yakadu albarqu yakhtafu absarahumkullama adaa lahum mashaw feehi wa-itha athlamaAAalayhim qamoo walaw shaa Allahu lathahababisamAAihim waabsarihim inna Allaha AAalakulli shay-in qadeerun
| يكاد البرق يخطف أبصارهم كلما أضاء لهم مشوا فيه وإذا أظلم عليهم قاموا ولو شاء الله لذهب بسمعهم وأبصارهم إن الله على كل شيء قدير يَكَادُ الْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَارَهُمْ كُلَّمَا أَضَاءَ لَهُم مَّشَوْاْ فِيهِ وَإِذَا أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُواْ وَلَوْ شَاء اللّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَارِهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّه عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ |
Words | |يكاد - Almost| البرق - the lightning| يخطف - snatches away| أبصارهم - their sight.| كلما - Whenever| أضاء - it flashes| لهم - for them| مشوا - they walk| فيه - in it,| وإذا - and when| أظلم - it darkens| عليهم - on them| قاموا - they stand (still).| ولو - And if| شاء - had willed| الله - Allah,| لذهب - He would certainly have taken away| بسمعهم - their hearing,| وأبصارهم - and their sight.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| على - (is) on| كل - every| شيء - thing| قدير - All-Powerful.| |

| ብልጭታው ዓይኖቻቸውን ሊነጥቅ ይቀርባል፡፡ ለነርሱ ባበራላቸው ቁጥር በርሱ ውስጥ ይኼዳሉ፡፡ በነሱም ላይ ባጨለመ ጊዜ ይቆማሉ፡፡ አላህም በሻ ኖሮ መስሚያቸውንና ማያዎቻቸውን በወሰደ ነበር፤ አላህ በነገሩ ሁሉ ላይ ቻይ ነውና፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { يكاد } يقرب { البرق يخطف أبصارهم } بأخذها بسرعة { كلما أضاء لهم مشوا فيه } أي في ضوئه { وإذا أظلم عليهم قاموا } وقفوا، تمثيل لإزعاج ما في القرآن من الحجج قلوبهم وتصديقهم لما سمعوا فيه مما يحبون ووقوفهم عما يكرهون. { ولو شاء الله لذهب بسمعهم } بمعنى أسماعهم { وأبصارهم } الظاهرة كما ذهب بالباطنة { إن الله على كل شيء } شاءه { قدير } ومنه إذهاب ما ذكر. |

মুহিউদ্দীন খান | বিদ্যুতালোকে যখন সামান্য আলোকিত হয়, তখন কিছুটা পথ চলে। আবার যখন অন্ধকার হয়ে যায়, তখন ঠাঁয় দাঁড়িয়ে থাকে। যদি আল্লাহ ইচ্ছা করেন, তাহলে তাদের শ্রবণশক্তি ও দৃষ্টিশক্তি ছিনিয়ে নিতে পারেন। আল্লাহ যাবতীয় বিষয়ের উপর সর্বময় ক্ষমতাশীল। |
Literal | The lightning almost snatches their eye sights , whenever (it) lit for them they walked in it, and if (it) darkened on them they stood and if God willed/wanted, He would have gone/taken away with their hearing/sense of hearing , and their sights/understanding , that God (is) on every thing capable/powerful . |
Yusuf Ali | The lightning all but snatches away their sight; every time the light (Helps) them, they walk therein, and when the darkness grows on them, they stand still. And if Allah willed, He could take away their faculty of hearing and seeing; for Allah hath power over all things. |
Pickthal | The lightning almost snatcheth away their sight from them. As often as it flasheth forth for them they walk therein, and when it darkeneth against them they stand still. If Allah willed, He could destroy their hearing and their sight. Lo! Allah is able to do all things. |

Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary | قریب ہے کہ بجلی (کی چمک) ان کی آنکھوں (کی بصارت) کو اچک لے جائے۔ جب بجلی (چمکتی اور) ان پر روشنی ڈالی ہے تو اس میں چل پڑتے ہیں اور جب اندھیرا ہو جاتا ہے تو کھڑے کے کھڑے رہ جاتے ہیں اور اگر الله چاہتا تو ان کے کانوں (کی شنوائی) اور آنکھوں (کی بینائی دونوں) کو زائل کر دیتا ہے۔ بے شک الله ہر چیز پر قادر ہے |

Abul Ala Maududi | چمک سے ان کی حالت یہ ہو رہی ہے کہ گویا عنقریب بجلی اِن کی بصارت اُچک لے جائے گی جب ذرا کچھ روشنی انہیں محسوس ہوتی ہے تو اِس میں کچھ دور چل لیتے ہیں اور جب ان پر اندھیرا چھا جاتا ہے تو کھڑ ے ہو جاتے ہیں اللہ چاہتا تو ان کی سماعت اور بصارت بالکل ہی سَلب کر لیتا، یقیناً وہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے |
