1 [18:77] | Faintalaqa hattaitha ataya ahla qaryatin istatAAamaahlaha faabaw an yudayyifoohuma fawajadafeeha jidaran yureedu an yanqadda faaqamahuqala law shi/ta laittakhathta AAalayhi ajran
| فانطلقا حتى إذا أتيا أهل قرية استطعما أهلها فأبوا أن يضيفوهما فوجدا فيها جدارا يريد أن ينقض فأقامه قال لو شئت لاتخذت عليه أجرا فَانطَلَقَا حَتَّى إِذَا أَتَيَا أَهْلَ قَرْيَةٍ اسْتَطْعَمَا أَهْلَهَا فَأَبَوْا أَن يُضَيِّفُوهُمَا فَوَجَدَا فِيهَا جِدَارًا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَنقَضَّ فَأَقَامَهُ قَالَ لَوْ شِئْتَ لَاتَّخَذْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا |
Words | |فانطلقا - So they set out| حتى - until| إذا - when| أتيا - they came| أهل - (to the) people| قرية - (of) a town,| استطعما - they asked for food| أهلها - (from) its people,| فأبوا - but they refused| أن - to| يضيفوهما - offer them hospitality.| فوجدا - Then they found| فيها - in it| جدارا - a wall| يريد - (that) want(ed)| أن - to| ينقض - collapse,| فأقامه - so he set it straight.| قال - He said,| لو - "If| شئت - you wished| لاتخذت - surely you (could) have taken| عليه - for it| أجرا - a payment."| |

| ኼዱም፡፡ ወደ አንዲት ከተማ ሰዎች በመጡም ጊዜ ነዋሪዎቿን ምግብን ጠየቁ፡፡ ከማስተናገዳቸውም እምቢ አሉ፡፡ በእርሷም ውስጥ ለመውደቅ የተቃረበን ግድግዳ አገኙ፡፡ (ኸድር) አቆመውም፡፡ (ሙሳም) «በሻህ ኖሮ በእርሱ ላይ ዋጋን በተቀበልክ ነበር» አለው፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { فانطلقا حتى إذا أتيا أهل قرية } هي أنطاكية { استطعما أهلها } طلبا منهم الطعام بضيافة { فأبوا أن يضيفوهما فوجدا فيها جدارا } ارتفاعه مائة ذراع { يريد أن ينقضَّ } أي يقرب أن يسقط لميلانه { فأقامه } الخضر بيده { قال } له موسى { لو شئت لاتخذت } وفي قراءة لتخذت { عليه أجرا } جُعْلاً حيث لم يضيفونا مع حاجتنا إلى الطعام . |
| Lêan, armi bbwven ar imezda$ n yiwet n temdint, ssutren asen lqut. Ugin a ten snubgten. Ufan en lêiv, qôib ad i$li. Iûeggem it. Inna: "ma teb$iv, tzemrev a ppepwaxellûev $ef waya". |
মুহিউদ্দীন খান | অতঃপর তারা চলতে লাগল, অবশেষে যখন একটি জনপদের অধিবাসীদের কাছে পৌছে তাদের কাছে খাবার চাইল, তখন তারা তাদের অতিথেয়তা করতে অস্বীকার করল। অতঃপর তারা সেখানে একটি পতনোম্মুখ প্রাচীর দেখতে পেলেন, সেটি তিনি সোজা করে দাঁড় করিয়ে দিলেন। মূসা বললেনঃ আপনি ইচ্ছা করলে তাদের কাছ থেকে এর পারিশ্রমিক আদায় করতে পারতেন। |
Literal | So they (B) left/set out until when they (B) came (to) a village/urban city, they asked its people to be fed, so they refused/hated that they have them (B) as guests/help them , so they (B) found in it a wall wanting that to fall down/be wrecked, so he raised it, he (Moses) said: "If you wanted/willed you would have taken/received on (for) it a wage/fee ." |
Yusuf Ali | Then they proceeded: until, when they came to the inhabitants of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused them hospitality. They found there a wall on the point of falling down, but he set it up straight. (Moses) said: "If thou hadst wished, surely thou couldst have exacted some recompense for it!" |
Pickthal | So they twain journeyed on till, when they came unto the folk of a certain township, they asked its folk for food, but they refused to make them guests. And they found therein a wall upon the point of falling into ruin, and he repaired it. (Moses) said: If thou hadst wished, thou couldst have taken payment for it. |
Arberry | So they departed; until, when they reached the people of a city, they asked the people for food, but they refused to receive them hospitably. There they found a wall about to tumble down, and so he set it up. He said, 'If thou hadst wished, thou couldst have taken a wage for that.' |

They found there a wall of a house which was on the verge of tumbling to the ground. The companion of Moses repaired that wall. Moses said, "You should have received some money for your labor." |

Ahmed Raza Khan | پھر دونوں چلے یہاں تک کہ جب ایک گاؤں والوں کے پاس آئے ان دہقانوں سے کھانا مانگا انہوں نے انہیں دعوت دینی قبول نہ کی پھر دونوں نے اس گاؤں میں ایک دیوار پا ئی کہ گرا چاہتی ہے اس بندہ نے اسے سیدھا کردیا، موسیٰ نے کہا تم چاہتے تو اس پر کچھ مزدوری لے لیتے |

Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary | پھر دونوں چلے۔ یہاں تک کہ ایک گاؤں والوں کے پاس پہنچے اور ان سے کھانا طلب کیا۔ انہوں نے ان کی ضیافت کرنے سے انکار کر دیا۔ پھر انہوں نے وہاں ایک دیوار دیکھی جو (جھک کر) گرا چاہتی تھی۔ خضر نے اس کو سیدھا کر دیا۔ موسیٰ نے کہا اگر آپ چاہتے تو ان سے (اس کا) معاوضہ لیتے (تاکہ کھانے کا کام چلتا) |
