| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[17:58] | Wa-in min qaryatin illa nahnumuhlikooha qabla yawmi alqiyamati aw muAAaththiboohaAAathaban shadeedan kana thalika fee alkitabimastooran
|  وإن من قرية إلا نحن مهلكوها قبل يوم القيامة أو معذبوها عذابا شديدا كان ذلك في الكتاب مسطورا
وَإِن مَّن قَرْيَةٍ إِلاَّ نَحْنُ مُهْلِكُوهَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُوهَا عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا كَانَ ذَلِك فِي الْكِتَابِ مَسْطُورًا |
| Words | |وإن - And not| من - (is) any| قرية - town| إلا - but| نحن - We| مهلكوها - (will) destroy it| قبل - before| يوم - (the) Day| القيامة - (of) the Resurrection| أو - or| معذبوها - punish it| عذابا - with a punishment| شديدا - severe.| كان - That is| ذلك - That is| في - in| الكتاب - the Book| مسطورا - written.| |

| አንዲትም ከተማ የለችም እኛ ከትንሣኤ ቀን በፊት አጥፊዎችዋ ወይም ብርቱን ቅጣት ቀጭዎችዋ ብንኾን እንጂ፡፡ ይህ በመጽሐፉ የተጻፈ ነው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وإن } ما { من قرية } أريد أهلها { إلا نحن مهلكوها قبل يوم القيامة } بالموت { أو معذبوها عذابا شديدا } بالقتل وغيره { كان ذلك في الكتاب } اللوح المحفوظ { مسطورا } مكتوبا . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | এমন কোন জনপদ নেই, যাকে আমি কেয়ামত দিবসের পূর্বে ধ্বংস করব না অথবা যাকে কঠোর শাস্তি দেব না। এটা তো গ্রন্থে লিপিবদ্ধ হয়ে গেছে। |
| Literal | And (there is) none from a village/urban city, except (that) We are making it die/destroying it before the Resurrection Day, or torturing it strong (severe) torture, that was/is in The Book written/inscribed/drafted. |
| Yusuf Ali | There is not a population but We shall destroy it before the Day of Judgment or punish it with a dreadful Penalty: that is written in the (eternal) Record. |
