| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[15:18] | Illa mani istaraqa alssamAAafaatbaAAahu shihabun mubeenun
|  إلا من استرق السمع فأتبعه شهاب مبين
إِلاَّ مَنِ اسْتَرَقَ السَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ |
| Words | |إلا - Except| من - (one) who| استرق - steals| السمع - the hearing,| فأتبعه - then follows him| شهاب - a burning flame| مبين - clear.| |

| ግን (ወሬ) መስማትን የሚሰርቅ ወዲየውኑ አብሪ ችቦ ይከተለዋል፡፡ (ያቃጥለዋል)፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { إلا } لكن { من استرق السمع } خطفه { فأتبعه شهاب مبين } كوكب يضيء ويحرقه أو يثقبه أو يخبله . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | কিন্তু যে চুরি করে শুনে পালায়, তার পশ্চাদ্ধাবন করে উজ্জ্বল উল্কাপিন্ড। |
| Literal | Except who eavesdropped the hearing, so a clear/evident light from a fire source/a star followed him. |
| Yusuf Ali | But any that gains a hearing by stealth, is pursued by a flaming fire, bright (to see). |
