| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[11:88] | Qala ya qawmi araaytum inkuntu AAala bayyinatin min rabbee warazaqanee minhu rizqanhasanan wama oreedu an okhalifakum ilama anhakum AAanhu in oreedu illa al-islahama istataAAtu wama tawfeeqee illa biAllahiAAalayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi oneebu
|  قال يا قوم أرأيتم إن كنت على بينة من ربي ورزقني منه رزقا حسنا وما أريد أن أخالفكم إلى ما أنهاكم عنه إن أريد إلا الإصلاح ما استطعت وما توفيقي إلا بالله عليه توكلت وإليه أنيب
قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىَ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّي وَرَزَقَنِي مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكُمْ إِلَى مَا أَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلاَّ الْإِصْلاَحَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ وَمَا تَوْفِيقِي إِلاَّ بِاللّهِ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ |
| Words | |قال - He said,| يا - O| قوم - "O my people!| أرأيتم - Do you see| إن - if| كنت - I am| على - on| بينة - a clear evidence| من - from| ربي - my Lord,| ورزقني - and He has provided me| منه - from Himself| رزقا - a good provision?| حسنا - a good provision?| وما - And not| أريد - I intend| أن - that| أخالفكم - I differ from you| إلى - in| ما - what| أنهاكم - I forbid you| عنه - from it.| إن - Not| أريد - I intend| إلا - except| الإصلاح - the reform| ما - as much as I am able.| استطعت - as much as I am able.| وما - And not| توفيقي - (is) my success| إلا - except| بالله - with Allah.| عليه - Upon Him| توكلت - I trust| وإليه - and to Him| أنيب - I turn.| |

| «ሕዝቦቼ ሆይ! ንገሩኝ፤ ከጌታዬ በሆነ አስረጅ ላይ ብሆንና ከእርሱም የሆነን መልካም ሲሳይ ቢሰጠኝ (በቅጥፈት ልቀላቅለው ይገባልን) ከእርሱ ወደ ከለከልኳችሁም ነገር ልለያችሁ አልሻም፡፡ በተቻለኝ ያክል ማበጀትን እንጂ አልሻም (ለደግ ሥራ) መገጠሜም በአላህ እንጂ በሌላ አይደለም፡፡ በእርሱ ላይ ተመካሁ፡፡ ወደእርሱም እመለሳለሁ፤» አላቸው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { قال يا قوم أرأيتم إن كنت على بينة من ربي ورزقني منه رزقا حسنا } حلالا أفأشوبه بالحرام من البخس والتطفيف { وما أريد أن أخالفكم } وأذهب { إلى ما أنهاكم عنه } فأرتكبه { إن } ما { أريد إلا الإصلاح } لكم بالعدل { ما استطعت وما توفيقي } قدرتي على ذلك وغيره من الطاعات { إلا بالله عليه توكلت وإليه أنيب } أرجع . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | শোয়ায়েব (আঃ) বললেন-হে দেশবাসী, তোমরা কি মনে কর! আমি যদি আমার পরওয়ারদেগারের পক্ষ হতে সুস্পষ্ট দলীলের উপর কায়েম থাকি আর তিনি যদি নিজের তরফ হতে আমাকে উত্তম রিযিক দান করে থাকেন, (তবে কি আমি তাঁর হুকুম অমান্য করতে পারি?) আর আমি চাই না যে তোমাদেরকে যা ছাড়াতে চাই পরে নিজেই সে কাজে লিপ্ত হব, আমি তো যথাসাধ্য শোধরাতে চাই। আল্লাহর মদদ দ্বারাই কিন্তু কাজ হয়ে থাকে, আমি তাঁর উপরই নির্ভর করি এবং তাঁরই প্রতি ফিরে যাই। |
| Literal | He said: "You (my) nation, did you see/understand if I were on an evidence from my Lord, and He provided for me from Him a good/beautiful provision , and I do not want that I differ/disagree with you to what I forbid/prevented you from it, that truly I want (nothing) except the correction/repair/reconciliation what I was able (to do), and my success/inspiration is except by God, on Him I relied/depended , and to Him I151repent/obey ." |
| Yusuf Ali | He said: "O my people! see ye whether I have a Clear (Sign) from my Lord, and He hath given me sustenance (pure and) good as from Himself? I wish not, in opposition to you, to do that which I forbid you to do. I only desire (your) betterment to the best of my power; and my success (in my task) can only come from Allah. In Him I trust, and unto Him I look. |
| Pickthal | He said: O my people! Bethink you: if I am (acting) on a clear proof from my Lord and He sustaineth me with fair sustenance from Him (how can I concede aught to you)? I desire not to do behind your backs that which I ask you not to do. I desire naught save reform so far as I am able. My welfare is only in Allah. In Him I trust and unto Him I turn (repentant). |

If I stand upon a clear sign from my Lord, and He has provided me with fair provision from Him -- and I desire not to come behind you, betaking me to that I forbid you; I desire only to set things right, so far as I am able. My succour is only with God; in Him I have put my trust, and to Him I turn, penitent. |

Tell me, if I have a clear evidence from my Lord, and He has given me a good sustenance from Himself (shall I corrupt it by mixing it with the unlawfully earned money). And my guidance cannot come except from Allah, in Him I trust and unto Him I repent. |

| Shabbir Ahmed | شعیب نے کہا: اے میری قوم! دیکھو تو اگر ہوں میں قائم ایک کھُلی شہادت پر اپنے رب کی طرف سے اور عطا کیا ہو اس نے مجھے اپنے ہاں سے اچّھا رزق۔ اور نہیں ہے میرا یہ ارادہ کہ میں خلاف کروں بات کے، منع کر رہا ہوں جس سے میں تم کو، نہیں چاہتا میں مگر اصلاح کرنا اپنی بساط کے مطابق اور نہیں ہے مجھے توفیق مگر اللہ کی طرف سے، اسی پر میرا بھروسہ ہے اور اسی سے میں رجوع کرتا ہوں۔ |
