بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Faqala almalao allatheenakafaroo min qawmihi ma naraka illa basharanmithlana wama naraka ittabaAAaka illaallatheena hum arathiluna badiya alrra/yiwama nara lakum AAalayna min fadlinbal nathunnukum kathibeena

فقال الملأ الذين كفروا من قومه ما نراك إلا بشرا مثلنا وما نراك اتبعك إلا الذين هم أراذلنا بادي الرأي وما نرى لكم علينا من فضل بل نظنكم كاذبين
فَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قِوْمِهِ مَا نَرَاكَ إِلاَّ بَشَرًا مِّثْلَنَا وَمَا نَرَاكَ اتَّبَعَكَ إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ هُمْ أَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِيَ الرَّأْيِ وَمَا نَرَى لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍ بَلْ نَظُنُّكُمْ كَاذِبِينَ

Words

ከሕዝቦቹም እነዚያ የካዱት መሪዎቹ ብጤያችን ሰው ሆነህ እንጂ አናይህም፡፡ እነዚያም እነሱ ሐሳበ ጥሬዎች የሆኑት ወራዶቻችን እንጂ ሌላ ተከትሎህ አናይህም፡፡ ለእናንተም በእኛ ላይ ምንም ብልጫን አናይም፡፡ ከቶውንም ውሸታሞች መሆናችሁን እንጠረጥራችኋለን አሉ፡፡

آل الجلالين

{ فقال الملأ الذين كفروا من قومه } وهم الأشراف { ما نراك إلا بشرا مثلنا } ولا فضل لك علينا { وما نراك اتبعك إلا الذين هم أراذلنا } أسافلنا كالحاكة والأساكفة { بادئ الرأي } بالهمز وتركه أي ابتداء من غير تفكر فيك ونصبه على الظرف أي وقت حدوث أول رأيهم { وما نرى لكم علينا من فضل } فتستحقون به الاتباع منا { بل نظنكم كاذبين } في دعوى الرسالة أدرجوا قومه معه في الخطاب .

Nnan imvebbôen, wid ijehlen, seg ugdud is: "keçç, $uône$, d amdan am nekwni. Nwala, d ôôdiyen nne$, kan, war ameyyez, i k ivefôen. Ur nwala s wacu i $ tifem. Xaîi, nêesb ikwen d ikeddaben".

মুহিউদ্দীন খান

তখন তাঁর কওমের কাফের প্রধানরা বলল আমরা তো আপনাকে আমাদের মত একজন মানুষ ব্যতীত আর কিছু মনে করি না; আর আমাদের মধ্যে যারা ইতর ও স্থুল-বুদ্ধিসম্পন্ন তারা ব্যতীত কাউকে তো আপনার আনুগত্য করতে দেখি না এবং আমাদের উপর আপনাদের কেন প্রাধান্য দেখি না, বরং আপনারা সবাই মিথ্যাবাদী বলে আমারা মনে করি।

Literal

So the nobles/groups/assembly those who disbelieved from his nation said: "We do not see you except (as) a human similar/equal/alike to us, and we do not see you (that) followed you except those who are our lowest/most despised, the opinion/belief (is) apparent, and we do not see for you on us from grace/favour/blessing, but we suspect you (are) liars/deniers/falsifiers."

Yusuf Ali

But the chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "We see (in) thee nothing but a man like ourselves: Nor do we see that any follow thee but the meanest among us, in judgment immature: Nor do we see in you (all) any merit above us: in fact we thing ye are liars!"

Pickthal

The chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved, said: We see thee but a mortal like us, and we see not that any follow thee save the most abject among us, without reflection. We behold in you no merit above us - nay, we deem you liars.

Arberry

Said the Council of the unbelievers of his people, 'We see thee not other than a mortal like ourselves, and we see no? any following thee but the vilest of us, inconsiderately. We do not see you have over us any superiority; no, rather we think you are liars.'

Shakir

But the chiefs of those who disbelieved from among his people said: We do not consider you but a mortal like ourselves, and we do not see any have followed you but those who are the meanest of us at first thought and we do not see in you any excellence over us; nay, we deem you liars.

Sarwar

The disbelievers among his people said, "We do not believe that you are any better than the rest of us; we see that only the worthless hasty ones, the lowliest among us follow you. Thus, we do not think that you are superior to us, rather you are all liars."

So the eminent among those who disbelieved from his people said, " We do not see you but as a man like ourselves, and we do not see you followed except by those who are the lowest of us [and] at first suggestion. And we do not see in you over us any merit; rather, we think you are liars."

Malik

In answer to this, the chiefs of the unbelievers among his people said: "We see you as no more than merely a human being like ourselves: and we see that no one has followed you except the meanest among us, whose judgement abilities are immature, and we find nothing in you which gives you superiority over us: in fact we think that you are a liar."[27]

Maulana Ali**

But the chiefs of his people who disbelieved said: We see thee not but a mortal like us, and we see not that any follow thee but those who are the meanest of us at first thought. Nor do we see in you any superiority over us; nay, we deem you liars.

The leaders who rejected from amongst his people said: "We do not see you except as a human like us, and we see that only the lowest amongst our people who have no opinion have followed you. And we do not see anything that makes you better than us; in fact, we think you are liars."

The unbelieving Council of his nation said: 'We do not see you other than a human like ourselves. We see your followers are none but the lowliest amongst us, and their opinion is not to be considered. We do not see you superior to us, rather, we consider you liars. '

But the chiefs of his people, who believed not, answered, we see thee to be no other than a man, like unto us; and we do not see that any follow thee, except those who are the most abject among us, who have believed on thee by a rash judgement; neither do we perceive any excellence in you above us: But we esteem you to be liars.

Then said the chiefs of his people who believed not, "We see in thee but a man like ourselves; and we see not who have followed thee except our meanest ones of hasty judgment, nor see we any excellence in you above ourselves: nay, we deem you liars."

But the great ones among his people, who refused to acknowledge the truth, answered: "We do not see in thee anything but a mortal man like ourselves; and we do not see that any follow thee save those who are quite obviously the most abject among us; ' and we do not see that you could be in any way superior to us:' on the contrary, we think that you are liars!"

Khalifa**

The leaders who disbelieved among his people said, "We see that you are no more than a human being like us, and we see that the first people to follow you are the worst among us. We see that you do not possess any advantage over us. Indeed, we think you are liars."

Hilali/Khan**

The chiefs of the disbelievers among his people said: "We see you but a man like ourselves, nor do we see any follow you but the meanest among us and they (too) followed you without thinking. And we do not see in you any merit above us, in fact we think you are liars."

QXP Shabbir Ahemd**

But the chiefs of his people, who were the foremost in rejection of the Message, came forward with four objections: We see you but a human being like us. And we see not that any follow you but the obviously lowest caste among us. (17:70). We do not see that you people are in any way superior to us, such as, wealth and property. Nay, we deem all of you liars.

Silloin hänen kansansa uskottomain johtomiehet sanoivat: »Huomaamme, että olet vain meidän kaltaisemme ihminen; huomaamme myös, että sinua seuraavat vain meistä halvimmat, joilla on pintapuolinen arvostelukyky; ja me näemme, ettet ole meitä etevämpi. Itse asiassa me pidämme sinua valehtelijana.»

تو اس کی قوم کے سردار جو کافر ہوئے تھے بولے ہم تو تمہیں اپنے ہی جیسا آدمی دیکھتے ہیں اور ہم نہیں دیکھتے کہ تمہاری پیروی کسی نے کی ہو مگر ہمارے کمینوں نے سرسری نظر سے اور ہم تم میں اپنے اوپر کوئی بڑائی نہیں پاتے بلکہ ہم تمہیں جھوٹا خیال کرتے ہیں،

تو کہا کچھ سرداروں نے جو کافر تھے اُس کی قوم میں سے کہ نہیں دیکھتے ہم تمہیں مگر ایک آدمی اپنے جیسا اور نہیں دیکھتے ہم کہ پیروی کی ہو تمہاری سوائے ان لوگوں کے جو ہم میں سے ادنیٰ درجے کے ہیں، سطحی سوچ والے، اور نہیں دیکھتے ہم کہ تمہیں ہم پر کوئی فضیلت حاصل ہو۔ بلکہ خیال کرتے ہیں ہم تمہیں جھُوٹا۔

تو ان کی قوم کے سردار جو کافر تھے کہنے لگے کہ ہم تم کو اپنے ہی جیسا ایک آدمی دیکھتے ہیں اور یہ بھی دیکھتے ہیں کہ تمہارے پیرو وہی لوگ ہوئے ہیں جو ہم میں ادنیٰ درجے کے ہیں۔ اور وہ بھی رائے ظاہر سے (نہ غوروتعمق سے) اور ہم تم میں اپنے اوپر کسی طرح کی فضیلت نہیں دیکھتے بلکہ تمہیں جھوٹا خیال کرتے ہیں

پھر بولے سردار جو کافر تھے اس کی قوم کے ہم کو تو تو نظر نہیں آتا مگر ایک آدمی ہم جیسا اور دیکھتے نہیں کوئی تابع ہوا ہو تیرا مگر جو ہم میں نیچ قوم ہیں بلا تامل اور ہم نہیں دیکھتے تم کو اوپر اپنے کچھ بڑائی بلکہ ہم کو تو خیال ہے کہ تم سب جھوٹے ہو

Abul Ala Maududi

جواب میں اُس کی قوم کے سردار، جنہوں نے اس کی بات ماننے سے انکار کیا تھا، بولے "ہماری نظر میں تو تم اس کے سوا کچھ نہیں ہو کہ بس ایک انسان ہو ہم جیسے اور ہم دیکھ رہے ہیں کہ ہماری قوم میں سے بس اُن لوگوں نے جو ہمارے ہاں اراذل تھے بے سوچے سمجھے تمہاری پیروی اختیار کر لی ہے اور ہم کوئی چیز بھی ایسی نہیں پاتے جس میں تم لوگ ہم سے کچھ بڑھے ہوئے ہو، بلکہ ہم تو تمہیں جھوٹا سمجھتے ہیں"

پھر اس کی قوم کے جو کافر سردار تھے وہ بولے ہمیں تو تم ہم جیسے ہی ایک آدمی نظر آتے ہو اور ہمیں تو تمہارے پیرو وہی نظر آتے ہیں جو ہم میں سے رذیل ہیں وہ بھی سرسری نظر سے اورہم تم میں اپنے سے کوئی فضیلت بھی نہیں پاتے بلکہ تمہیں جھوٹا خیال کرتے ہیں
