بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [11:117] | Wama kana rabbuka liyuhlikaalqura bithulmin waahluha muslihoona
| وما كان ربك ليهلك القرى بظلم وأهلها مصلحون وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهْلِكَ الْقُرَى بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا مُصْلِحُونَ |
Words | |وما - And not| كان - would| ربك - your Lord,| ليهلك - destroy| القرى - the cities| بظلم - unjustly| وأهلها - while its people| مصلحون - (were) reformers.| |

| ጌታህም ከተሞችን ባለቤቶቻቸው መልካም ሠሪዎች ሆነው ሳሉ በመበደል የሚያጠፋቸው አልነበረም፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { وما كان ربك ليهلك القرى بظلم } منه لها { وأهلها مصلحون } مؤمنون . |

মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর তোমার পালনকর্তা এমন নন যে, জনবসতিগুলোকে অন্যায়ভাবে ধ্বংস করে দেবেন, সেখানকার লোকেরা সৎকর্মশীল হওয়া সত্ত্বেও। |
Literal | And your Lord was not to destroy the villages/urban cities with injustice/oppression and its people (are) correcting/repairing . |
Yusuf Ali | Nor would thy Lord be the One to destroy communities for a single wrong-doing, if its members were likely to mend. |
Pickthal | In truth thy Lord destroyed not the townships tyrannously while their folk were doing right. |
Arberry | Yet thy Lord would never destroy the cities unjustly, while as yet their people were putting things right. |
Shakir | And it did not beseem your Lord to have destroyed the towns tyrannously, while their people acted well. |
Sarwar | Your Lord would not have destroyed those people (of the towns) for their injustice if they had tried to reform themselves. |
