| 1 [4:125] | Waman ahsanu deenan mimman aslamawajhahu lillahi wahuwa muhsinun waittabaAAamillata ibraheema haneefan waittakhathaAllahu ibraheema khaleelan |  ومن أحسن دينا ممن أسلم وجهه لله وهو محسن واتبع ملة إبراهيم حنيفا واتخذ الله إبراهيم خليلاوَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ دِينًا مِّمَّنْ أَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ واتَّبَعَ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَاتَّخَذَ اللّهُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلاً | |||||
| Words | |ومن - And who| أحسن - (is) better| دينا - (in) religion| ممن - than (one) who| أسلم - submits| وجهه - his face| لله - to Allah| وهو - and he| محسن - (is) a good-doer| واتبع - and follows| ملة - (the) religion| إبراهيم - (of) Ibrahim| حنيفا - (the) upright?| واتخذ - And was taken| الله - (by) Allah| إبراهيم - Ibrahim| خليلا - (as) a friend.| | ||||||
| 2 [7:148] | Waittakhatha qawmu moosamin baAAdihi min huliyyihim AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarunalam yaraw annahu la yukallimuhum wala yahdeehimsabeelan ittakhathoohu wakanoo thalimeena | واتخذ قوم موسى من بعده من حليهم عجلا جسدا له خوار ألم يروا أنه لا يكلمهم ولا يهديهم سبيلا اتخذوه وكانوا ظالمين وَاتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوسَى مِن بَعْدِهِ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلاً جَسَدًا لَّهُ خُوَارٌ أَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ أَنَّهُ لاَ يُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَلاَ يَهْدِيهِمْ سَبِيلاً اتَّخَذُوهُ وَكَانُواْ ظَالِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |واتخذ - And took| قوم - (the) people| موسى - (of) Musa,| من - from| بعده - after him| من - from| حليهم - their ornaments| عجلا - a calf -| جسدا - an image| له - [for] it| خوار - (had) a lowing sound.| ألم - Did not| يروا - they see| أنه - that it| لا - (could) not| يكلمهم - speak to them| ولا - and not| يهديهم - guide them| سبيلا - (to) a way?| اتخذوه - They took it (for worship)| وكانوا - and they were| ظالمين - wrongdoers.| | ||||||
| 3 [17:40] | Afaasfakum rabbukum bialbaneenawaittakhatha mina almala-ikati inathaninnakum lataqooloona qawlan AAatheeman | أفأصفاكم ربكم بالبنين واتخذ من الملائكة إناثا إنكم لتقولون قولا عظيما أَفَأَصْفَاكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِالْبَنِينَ وَاتَّخَذَ مِنَ الْمَلَآئِكَةِ إِنَاثًا إِنَّكُمْ لَتَقُولُونَ قَوْلاً عَظِيمًا | |||||
| Words | |أفأصفاكم - Then has your Lord chosen (for) you| ربكم - Then has your Lord chosen (for) you| بالبنين - sons| واتخذ - and He has taken| من - from| الملائكة - the Angels| إناثا - daughters?| إنكم - Indeed, you| لتقولون - surely say| قولا - a word| عظيما - grave.| | ||||||
| 4 [18:63] | Qala araayta ith awaynaila alssakhrati fa-innee naseetu alhootawama ansaneehu illa alshshaytanuan athkurahu waittakhatha sabeelahu fee albahriAAajaban | قال أرأيت إذ أوينا إلى الصخرة فإني نسيت الحوت وما أنسانيه إلا الشيطان أن أذكره واتخذ سبيله في البحر عجبا قَالَ أَرَأَيْتَ إِذْ أَوَيْنَا إِلَى الصَّخْرَةِ فَإِنِّي نَسِيتُ الْحُوتَ وَمَا أَنسَانِيهُ إِلاَّ الشَّيْطَانُ أَنْ أَذْكُرَهُ وَاتَّخَذَ سَبِيلَهُ فِي الْبَحْرِ عَجَبًا | |||||
| Words | |قال - He said,| أرأيت - "Did you see,| إذ - when| أوينا - we retired| إلى - to| الصخرة - the rock?| فإني - Then indeed, I| نسيت - [I] forgot| الحوت - the fish.| وما - And not| أنسانيه - made me forget it| إلا - except| الشيطان - the Shaitaan| أن - that| أذكره - I mention it.| واتخذ - And it took| سبيله - its way| في - into| البحر - the sea| عجبا - amazingly."| | ||||||
