| 1 [3:140] | In yamsaskum qarhun faqad massaalqawma qarhun mithluhu watilka al-ayyamu nudawiluhabayna alnnasi waliyaAAlama Allahu allatheenaamanoo wayattakhitha minkum shuhadaa waAllahula yuhibbu alththalimeena |  إن يمسسكم قرح فقد مس القوم قرح مثله وتلك الأيام نداولها بين الناس وليعلم الله الذين آمنوا ويتخذ منكم شهداء والله لا يحب الظالمينإِن يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ فَقَدْ مَسَّ الْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِّثْلُهُ وَتِلْكَ الْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَاءَ وَاللّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |إن - If| يمسسكم - touched you| قرح - a wound,| فقد - so certainly| مس - (has) touched| القوم - the people| قرح - wound| مثله - like it.| وتلك - And this| الأيام - [the] days| نداولها - We alternate them| بين - among| الناس - the people| وليعلم - [and] so that makes evident| الله - Allah| الذين - those who| آمنوا - believe[d]| ويتخذ - and take| منكم - from you| شهداء - martyrs.| والله - And Allah| لا - (does) not| يحب - love| الظالمين - the wrongdoers.| | ||||||
| 2 [7:95] | Thumma baddalna makana alssayyi-atialhasanata hatta AAafaw waqaloo qadmassa abaana alddarraowaalssarrao faakhathnahum baghtatanwahum la yashAAuroona | ثم بدلنا مكان السيئة الحسنة حتى عفوا وقالوا قد مس آباءنا الضراء والسراء فأخذناهم بغتة وهم لا يشعرون ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ السَّيِّئَةِ الْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّى عَفَواْ وَّقَالُواْ قَدْ مَسَّ آبَاءَنَا الضَّرَّاءُ وَالسَّرَّاءُ فَأَخَذْنَاهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لاَ يَشْعُرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ثم - Then| بدلنا - We changed| مكان - (in) place| السيئة - (of) the bad| الحسنة - the good,| حتى - until| عفوا - they increased| وقالوا - and said,| قد - "Verily,| مس - (had) touched| آباءنا - our forefathers| الضراء - the adversity| والسراء - and the ease."| فأخذناهم - So We seized them| بغتة - suddenly,| وهم - while they| لا - (did) not| يشعرون - perceive.| | ||||||
| 3 [10:12] | Wa-itha massa al-insana alddurrudaAAana lijanbihi aw qaAAidan aw qa-imanfalamma kashafna AAanhu durrahu marra kaanlam yadAAuna ila durrin massahu kathalikazuyyina lilmusrifeena ma kanoo yaAAmaloona | وإذا مس الإنسان الضر دعانا لجنبه أو قاعدا أو قائما فلما كشفنا عنه ضره مر كأن لم يدعنا إلى ضر مسه كذلك زين للمسرفين ما كانوا يعملون وَإِذَا مَسَّ الْإِنسَانَ الضُّرُّ دَعَانَا لِجَنبِهِ أَوْ قَاعِدًا أَوْ قَآئِمًا فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُ ضُرَّهُ مَرَّ كَأَن لَّمْ يَدْعُنَا إِلَى ضُرٍّ مَّسَّهُ كَذَلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| مس - touches| الإنسان - the man| الضر - the affliction| دعانا - he calls Us,| لجنبه - (lying) on his side| أو - or| قاعدا - sitting| أو - or| قائما - standing.| فلما - But when| كشفنا - We remove| عنه - from him| ضره - his affliction| مر - he passes on| كأن - as if he| لم - (had) not| يدعنا - called Us| إلى - for| ضر - (the) affliction| مسه - (that) touched him.| كذلك - Thus| زين - (it) is made fair seeming| للمسرفين - to the extravagant| ما - what| كانوا - they used (to)| يعملون - do.| | ||||||
| 4 [30:33] | Wa-itha massa alnnasa durrundaAAaw rabbahum muneebeena ilayhi thumma itha athaqahumminhu rahmatan itha fareequn minhum birabbihimyushrikoona | وإذا مس الناس ضر دعوا ربهم منيبين إليه ثم إذا أذاقهم منه رحمة إذا فريق منهم بربهم يشركون وَإِذَا مَسَّ النَّاسَ ضُرٌّ دَعَوْا رَبَّهُم مُّنِيبِينَ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا أَذَاقَهُم مِّنْهُ رَحْمَةً إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| مس - touches| الناس - people| ضر - hardship,| دعوا - they call| ربهم - their Lord| منيبين - turning| إليه - to Him.| ثم - Then| إذا - when| أذاقهم - He causes them to taste| منه - from Him| رحمة - Mercy| إذا - behold!| فريق - A party| منهم - of them| بربهم - with their Lord| يشركون - associate partners| | ||||||
| 5 [39:8] | Wa-itha massa al-insana durrundaAAa rabbahu muneeban ilayhi thumma ithakhawwalahu niAAmatan minhu nasiya ma kana yadAAooilayhi min qablu wajaAAala lillahi andadan liyudillaAAan sabeelihi qul tamattaAA bikufrika qaleelan innaka min as-habialnnari | وإذا مس الإنسان ضر دعا ربه منيبا إليه ثم إذا خوله نعمة منه نسي ما كان يدعو إليه من قبل وجعل لله أندادا ليضل عن سبيله قل تمتع بكفرك قليلا إنك من أصحاب النار وَإِذَا مَسَّ الْإِنسَانَ ضُرٌّ دَعَا رَبَّهُ مُنِيبًا إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلَهُ نِعْمَةً مِّنْهُ نَسِيَ مَا كَانَ يَدْعُواْ إِلَيْهِ مِن قَبْلُ وَجَعَلَ لِلَّهِ أَندَادًا لِّيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِ قُلْ تَمَتَّعْ بِكُفْرِكَ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّارِ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| مس - touches| الإنسان - [the] man| ضر - adversity,| دعا - he calls| ربه - his Lord| منيبا - turning| إليه - to Him;| ثم - then| إذا - when| خوله - He bestows on him| نعمة - a favor| منه - from Himself,| نسي - he forgets| ما - (for) what| كان - he used to call| يدعو - he used to call| إليه - [to] Him| من - before,| قبل - before,| وجعل - and he sets up| لله - to Allah| أندادا - rivals| ليضل - to mislead| عن - from| سبيله - His Path.| قل - Say,| تمتع - "Enjoy| بكفرك - in your disbelief| قليلا - (for) a little.| إنك - Indeed, you| من - (are) of| أصحاب - (the) companions| النار - (of) the Fire."| | ||||||
| 6 [39:49] | Fa-itha massa al-insana durrundaAAana thumma itha khawwalnahuniAAmatan minna qala innama ooteetuhu AAalaAAilmin bal hiya fitnatun walakinna aktharahum layaAAlamoona | فإذا مس الإنسان ضر دعانا ثم إذا خولناه نعمة منا قال إنما أوتيته على علم بل هي فتنة ولكن أكثرهم لا يعلمون فَإِذَا مَسَّ الْإِنسَانَ ضُرٌّ دَعَانَا ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلْنَاهُ نِعْمَةً مِّنَّا قَالَ إِنَّمَا أُوتِيتُهُ عَلَى عِلْمٍ بَلْ هِيَ فِتْنَةٌ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فإذا - So when| مس - touches| الإنسان - [the] man| ضر - adversity,| دعانا - he calls upon Us;| ثم - then| إذا - when| خولناه - We bestow (on) him| نعمة - a favor| منا - from Us,| قال - he says,| إنما - "Only,| أوتيته - I have been given it| على - for| علم - knowledge."| بل - Nay,| هي - it| فتنة - (is) a trial,| ولكن - but| أكثرهم - most of them| لا - (do) not| يعلمون - know.| | ||||||
| 7 [54:48] | Yawma yushaboona fee alnnariAAala wujoohihim thooqoo massa saqara | يوم يسحبون في النار على وجوههم ذوقوا مس سقر يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ | |||||
