| 1 [3:197] | MataAAun qaleelun thumma ma/wahumjahannamu wabi/sa almihadu |  متاع قليل ثم مأواهم جهنم وبئس المهادمَتَاعٌ قَلِيلٌ ثُمَّ مَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ | |||||
| Words | |متاع - An enjoyment| قليل - little,| ثم - then| مأواهم - their abode| جهنم - (is) hell -| وبئس - [and] a wretched| المهاد - [the] resting place.| | ||||||
| 2 [4:66] | Walaw anna katabna AAalayhimani oqtuloo anfusakum awi okhrujoo min diyarikum mafaAAaloohu illa qaleelun minhum walaw annahum faAAaloo mayooAAathoona bihi lakana khayran lahumwaashadda tathbeetan | ولو أنا كتبنا عليهم أن اقتلوا أنفسكم أو اخرجوا من دياركم ما فعلوه إلا قليل منهم ولو أنهم فعلوا ما يوعظون به لكان خيرا لهم وأشد تثبيتا وَلَوْ أَنَّا كَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ أَنِ اقْتُلُواْ أَنفُسَكُمْ أَوِ اخْرُجُواْ مِن دِيَارِكُم مَّا فَعَلُوهُ إِلاَّ قَلِيلٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ فَعَلُواْ مَا يُوعَظُونَ بِهِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ تَثْبِيتًا | |||||
| Words | |ولو - And if| أنا - [that] We| كتبنا - (had) decreed| عليهم - on them| أن - that,| اقتلوا - "Kill| أنفسكم - yourselves"| أو - or| اخرجوا - "Go forth| من - from| دياركم - your homes,"| ما - not| فعلوه - they would have done it| إلا - except| قليل - a few| منهم - of them.| ولو - But if| أنهم - [that] they| فعلوا - had done| ما - what| يوعظون - they were advised| به - with [it],| لكان - surely (it) would have been| خيرا - better| لهم - for them| وأشد - and stronger| تثبيتا - strengthen(ing).| | ||||||
| 3 [4:77] | Alam tara ila allatheena qeelalahum kuffoo aydiyakum waaqeemoo alssalatawaatoo alzzakata falamma kutibaAAalayhimu alqitalu itha fareequn minhum yakhshawnaalnnasa kakhashyati Allahi aw ashaddakhashyatan waqaloo rabbana lima katabta AAalaynaalqitala lawla akhkhartana ila ajalinqareebin qul mataAAu alddunya qaleelun waal-akhiratukhayrun limani ittaqa wala tuthlamoonafateelan | ألم تر إلى الذين قيل لهم كفوا أيديكم وأقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة فلما كتب عليهم القتال إذا فريق منهم يخشون الناس كخشية الله أو أشد خشية وقالوا ربنا لم كتبت علينا القتال لولا أخرتنا إلى أجل قريب قل متاع الدنيا قليل والآخرة خير لمن اتقى ولا تظلمون فتيلا أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ قِيلَ لَهُمْ كُفُّواْ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَقِيمُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتُواْ الزَّكَاةَ فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقِتَالُ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَخْشَوْنَ النَّاسَ كَخَشْيَةِ اللّهِ أَوْ أَشَدَّ خَشْيَةً وَقَالُواْ رَبَّنَا لِمَ كَتَبْتَ عَلَيْنَا الْقِتَالَ لَوْلاَ أَخَّرْتَنَا إِلَى أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ قُلْ مَتَاعُ الدُّنْيَا قَلِيلٌ وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنِ اتَّقَى وَلاَ تُظْلَمُونَ فَتِيلاً | |||||
| Words | |ألم - Have not| تر - you seen| إلى - [towards]| الذين - those who| قيل - (when) it was said| لهم - to them,| كفوا - "Restrain| أيديكم - your hands| وأقيموا - and establish| الصلاة - the prayer| وآتوا - and give| الزكاة - the zakah?"| فلما - Then when| كتب - was ordained| عليهم - on them| القتال - the fighting,| إذا - then| فريق - a group| منهم - of them| يخشون - [they] fear| الناس - the people| كخشية - as (they) fear| الله - Allah| أو - or| أشد - more intense| خشية - fear,| وقالوا - and they said,| ربنا - "Our Lord| لم - why| كتبت - have You ordained| علينا - upon us| القتال - [the] fighting?| لولا - Why not| أخرتنا - You postpone (it for) us| إلى - to| أجل - a term,| قريب - near."| قل - Say,| متاع - "Enjoyment| الدنيا - (of) the world| قليل - (is) little| والآخرة - and the Hereafter| خير - (is) better| لمن - for whoever| اتقى - fears (Allah)| ولا - and not| تظلمون - you will be wronged| فتيلا - (even as much as) a hair on a date-seed."| | ||||||
| 4 [8:26] | Waothkuroo ith antumqaleelun mustadAAafoona fee al-ardi takhafoonaan yatakhattafakumu alnnasu faawakumwaayyadakum binasrihi warazaqakum mina alttayyibatilaAAallakum tashkuroona | واذكروا إذ أنتم قليل مستضعفون في الأرض تخافون أن يتخطفكم الناس فآواكم وأيدكم بنصره ورزقكم من الطيبات لعلكم تشكرون وَاذْكُرُواْ إِذْ أَنتُمْ قَلِيلٌ مُّسْتَضْعَفُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ تَخَافُونَ أَن يَتَخَطَّفَكُمُ النَّاسُ فَآوَاكُمْ وَأَيَّدَكُم بِنَصْرِهِ وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |واذكروا - And remember| إذ - when| أنتم - you| قليل - (were) few| مستضعفون - (and) deemed weak| في - in| الأرض - the earth| تخافون - fearing| أن - that| يتخطفكم - might do away with you| الناس - the men,| فآواكم - then He sheltered you,| وأيدكم - and strengthened you| بنصره - with His help,| ورزقكم - and provided you| من - of| الطيبات - the good things| لعلكم - so that you may| تشكرون - (be) thankful.| | ||||||
| 5 [9:38] | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooma lakum itha qeela lakumu infiroo fee sabeeli Allahiiththaqaltum ila al-ardi aradeetum bialhayatialddunya mina al-akhirati fama mataAAualhayati alddunya fee al-akhiratiilla qaleelun | يا أيها الذين آمنوا ما لكم إذا قيل لكم انفروا في سبيل الله اثاقلتم إلى الأرض أرضيتم بالحياة الدنيا من الآخرة فما متاع الحياة الدنيا في الآخرة إلا قليل يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ مَا لَكُمْ إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمُ انفِرُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ اثَّاقَلْتُمْ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ أَرَضِيتُم بِالْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ فَمَا مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلاَّ قَلِيلٌ | |||||

| 6 [11:40] | Hatta itha jaaamruna wafara alttannooru qulna ihmilfeeha min kullin zawjayni ithnayni waahlaka illaman sabaqa AAalayhi alqawlu waman amana wama amanamaAAahu illa qaleelun | حتى إذا جاء أمرنا وفار التنور قلنا احمل فيها من كل زوجين اثنين وأهلك إلا من سبق عليه القول ومن آمن وما آمن معه إلا قليل حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ التَّنُّورُ قُلْنَا احْمِلْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلاَّ مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلُ وَمَنْ آمَنَ وَمَا آمَنَ مَعَهُ إِلاَّ قَلِيلٌ | |||||
| Words | |حتى - Till| إذا - when| جاء - came| أمرنا - Our command,| وفار - and overflowed| التنور - the oven,| قلنا - We said,| احمل - "Load| فيها - in it| من - of| كل - every kind| زوجين - a pair| اثنين - two,| وأهلك - and your family| إلا - except| من - who| سبق - has preceded| عليه - against him| القول - the word,| ومن - and whoever| آمن - believed."| وما - And not| آمن - believed| معه - with him| إلا - except| قليل - a few.| | ||||||
| 7 [16:117] | MataAAun qaleelun walahum AAathabunaleemun | متاع قليل ولهم عذاب أليم مَتَاعٌ قَلِيلٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |متاع - An enjoyment| قليل - little| ولهم - and for them| عذاب - (is) a punishment| أليم - painful.| | ||||||
| 8 [18:22] | Sayaqooloona thalathatun rabiAAuhumkalbuhum wayaqooloona khamsatun sadisuhum kalbuhum rajmanbialghaybi wayaqooloona sabAAatun wathaminuhumkalbuhum qul rabbee aAAlamu biAAiddatihim ma yaAAlamuhumilla qaleelun fala tumari feehim illamiraan thahiran wala tastaftifeehim minhum ahadan | سيقولون ثلاثة رابعهم كلبهم ويقولون خمسة سادسهم كلبهم رجما بالغيب ويقولون سبعة وثامنهم كلبهم قل ربي أعلم بعدتهم ما يعلمهم إلا قليل فلا تمار فيهم إلا مراء ظاهرا ولا تستفت فيهم منهم أحدا سَيَقُولُونَ ثَلاَثَةٌ رَّابِعُهُمْ كَلْبُهُمْ وَيَقُولُونَ خَمْسَةٌ سَادِسُهُمْ كَلْبُهُمْ رَجْمًا بِالْغَيْبِ وَيَقُولُونَ سَبْعَةٌ وَثَامِنُهُمْ كَلْبُهُمْ قُل رَّبِّي أَعْلَمُ بِعِدَّتِهِم مَّا يَعْلَمُهُمْ إِلاَّ قَلِيلٌ فَلاَ تُمَارِ فِيهِمْ إِلاَّ مِرَاءً ظَاهِرًا وَلاَ تَسْتَفْتِ فِيهِم مِّنْهُمْ أَحَدًا | |||||
| Words | |سيقولون - They say,| ثلاثة - (they were) three,| رابعهم - the forth of them| كلبهم - their dog;| ويقولون - and they say| خمسة - (they were) five| سادسهم - the sixth of them| كلبهم - their dog -| رجما - guessing| بالغيب - about the unseen;| ويقولون - and they say,| سبعة - (they were) seven| وثامنهم - and the eight of them| كلبهم - their dog.| قل - Say,| ربي - "My Lord,| أعلم - knows best| بعدتهم - their number.| ما - None| يعلمهم - knows them| إلا - except| قليل - a few.| فلا - So (do) not| تمار - argue| فيهم - about them| إلا - except| مراء - (with) an argument| ظاهرا - obvious,| ولا - and (do) not| تستفت - inquire| فيهم - about them| منهم - among them| أحدا - (from) anyone."| | ||||||
| 9 [23:40] | Qala AAamma qaleelin layusbihunnanadimeena | قال عما قليل ليصبحن نادمين قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍ لَيُصْبِحُنَّ نَادِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |قال - He said,| عما - "After a little while| قليل - "After a little while| ليصبحن - surely they will become| نادمين - regretful."| | ||||||
| 10 [34:16] | FaaAAradoo faarsalna AAalayhimsayla alAAarimi wabaddalnahum bijannatayhim jannatayni thawatayokulin khamtin waathlin washay-in min sidrin qaleelin | فأعرضوا فأرسلنا عليهم سيل العرم وبدلناهم بجنتيهم جنتين ذواتي أكل خمط وأثل وشيء من سدر قليل فَأَعْرَضُوا فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَيْلَ الْعَرِمِ وَبَدَّلْنَاهُم بِجَنَّتَيْهِمْ جَنَّتَيْنِ ذَوَاتَى أُكُلٍ خَمْطٍ وَأَثْلٍ وَشَيْءٍ مِّن سِدْرٍ قَلِيلٍ | |||||
| Words | |فأعرضوا - But they turned away,| فأرسلنا - so We sent| عليهم - upon them| سيل - (the) flood| العرم - (of) the dam,| وبدلناهم - and We changed for them| بجنتيهم - their two gardens| جنتين - (with) two gardens| ذواتي - producing fruit| أكل - producing fruit| خمط - bitter,| وأثل - and tamarisks| وشيء - and (some)thing| من - of| سدر - lote trees| قليل - few.| | ||||||
