| 1 [2:133] | Am kuntum shuhadaa ith hadarayaAAqooba almawtu ith qala libaneehi mataAAbudoona min baAAdee qaloo naAAbudu ilahakawa-ilaha aba-ika ibraheema wa-ismaAAeelawa-ishaqa ilahan wahidan wanahnu lahumuslimoona |  أم كنتم شهداء إذ حضر يعقوب الموت إذ قال لبنيه ما تعبدون من بعدي قالوا نعبد إلهك وإله آبائك إبراهيم وإسماعيل وإسحاق إلها واحدا ونحن له مسلمونأَمْ كُنتُمْ شُهَدَاءَ إِذْ حَضَرَ يَعْقُوبَ الْمَوْتُ إِذْ قَالَ لِبَنِيهِ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن بَعْدِي قَالُواْ نَعْبُدُ إِلَـهَكَ وَإِلَـهَ آبَائِكَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَقَ إِلَـهًا وَاحِدًا وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |أم - Or| كنتم - were you| شهداء - witnesses| إذ - when| حضر - came to| يعقوب - Yaqub| الموت - [the] death,| إذ - when| قال - he said| لبنيه - to his sons,| ما - "What| تعبدون - will you worship| من - from| بعدي - after me?"| قالوا - They said,| نعبد - "We will worship| إلهك - your God| وإله - and (the) God| آبائك - (of) your forefathers,| إبراهيم - Ibrahim| وإسماعيل - and Ishmael| وإسحاق - and Isaac -| إلها - God| واحدا - One.| ونحن - And we| له - to Him| مسلمون - (are) submissive."| | ||||||
| 2 [2:143] | Wakathalika jaAAalnakumommatan wasatan litakoonoo shuhadaa AAala alnnasiwayakoona alrrasoolu AAalaykum shaheedan wamajaAAalna alqiblata allatee kunta AAalayha illalinaAAlama man yattabiAAu alrrasoola mimman yanqalibu AAalaAAaqibayhi wa-in kanat lakabeeratan illa AAalaallatheena hada Allahu wama kanaAllahu liyudeeAAa eemanakum inna Allahabialnnasi laraoofun raheemun | وكذلك جعلناكم أمة وسطا لتكونوا شهداء على الناس ويكون الرسول عليكم شهيدا وما جعلنا القبلة التي كنت عليها إلا لنعلم من يتبع الرسول ممن ينقلب على عقبيه وإن كانت لكبيرة إلا على الذين هدى الله وما كان الله ليضيع إيمانكم إن الله بالناس لرءوف رحيم وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِّتَكُونُواْ شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًا وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الْقِبْلَةَ الَّتِي كُنتَ عَلَيْهَا إِلاَّ لِنَعْلَمَ مَن يَتَّبِعُ الرَّسُولَ مِمَّن يَنقَلِبُ عَلَى عَقِبَيْهِ وَإِن كَانَتْ لَكَبِيرَةً إِلاَّ عَلَى الَّذِينَ هَدَى اللّهُ وَمَا كَانَ اللّهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَانَكُمْ إِنَّ اللّهَ بِالنَّاسِ لَرَؤُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |وكذلك - And thus| جعلناكم - We made you| أمة - a community| وسطا - (of the) middle way| لتكونوا - so that you will be| شهداء - witnesses| على - over| الناس - the mankind,| ويكون - and will be| الرسول - the Messenger| عليكم - on you| شهيدا - a witness.| وما - And not| جعلنا - We made| القبلة - the direction of prayer| التي - which| كنت - you were used to| عليها - [on it]| إلا - except| لنعلم - that We make evident| من - (he) who| يتبع - follows| الرسول - the Messenger| ممن - from (he) who| ينقلب - turns back| على - on| عقبيه - his heels.| وإن - And indeed,| كانت - it was| لكبيرة - certainly a great (test)| إلا - except| على - for| الذين - those whom| هدى - guided| الله - (by) Allah.| وما - And not| كان - will| الله - Allah| ليضيع - let go waste| إيمانكم - your faith.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| بالناس - (is) to [the] mankind| لرءوف - Full of Kindness,| رحيم - Most Merciful.| | ||||||
| 3 [3:99] | Qul ya ahla alkitabi lima tasuddoonaAAan sabeeli Allahi man amana tabghoonahaAAiwajan waantum shuhadao wama Allahu bighafilinAAamma taAAmaloona | قل يا أهل الكتاب لم تصدون عن سبيل الله من آمن تبغونها عوجا وأنتم شهداء وما الله بغافل عما تعملون قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ تَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَأَنتُمْ شُهَدَاءَ وَمَا اللّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |قل - Say,| يا - O| أهل - "O People| الكتاب - (of) the Book!| لم - Why| تصدون - (do) you hinder| عن - from| سبيل - (the) way| الله - (of) Allah| من - (those) who| آمن - believe[d],| تبغونها - seeking (to make) it| عوجا - (seem) crooked| وأنتم - while you| شهداء - (are) witnesses?| وما - And not| الله - Allah| بغافل - (is) unaware| عما - of what| تعملون - you do.| | ||||||
| 4 [3:140] | In yamsaskum qarhun faqad massaalqawma qarhun mithluhu watilka al-ayyamu nudawiluhabayna alnnasi waliyaAAlama Allahu allatheenaamanoo wayattakhitha minkum shuhadaa waAllahula yuhibbu alththalimeena | إن يمسسكم قرح فقد مس القوم قرح مثله وتلك الأيام نداولها بين الناس وليعلم الله الذين آمنوا ويتخذ منكم شهداء والله لا يحب الظالمين إِن يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ فَقَدْ مَسَّ الْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِّثْلُهُ وَتِلْكَ الْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَاءَ وَاللّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |إن - If| يمسسكم - touched you| قرح - a wound,| فقد - so certainly| مس - (has) touched| القوم - the people| قرح - wound| مثله - like it.| وتلك - And this| الأيام - [the] days| نداولها - We alternate them| بين - among| الناس - the people| وليعلم - [and] so that makes evident| الله - Allah| الذين - those who| آمنوا - believe[d]| ويتخذ - and take| منكم - from you| شهداء - martyrs.| والله - And Allah| لا - (does) not| يحب - love| الظالمين - the wrongdoers.| | ||||||
| 5 [4:135] | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanookoonoo qawwameena bialqisti shuhadaalillahi walaw AAala anfusikum awi alwalidayniwaal-aqrabeena in yakun ghaniyyan aw faqeeran faAllahuawla bihima fala tattabiAAoo alhawaan taAAdiloo wa-in talwoo aw tuAAridoo fa-inna Allahakana bima taAAmaloona khabeeran | يا أيها الذين آمنوا كونوا قوامين بالقسط شهداء لله ولو على أنفسكم أو الوالدين والأقربين إن يكن غنيا أو فقيرا فالله أولى بهما فلا تتبعوا الهوى أن تعدلوا وإن تلووا أو تعرضوا فإن الله كان بما تعملون خبيرا يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ كُونُواْ قَوَّامِينَ بِالْقِسْطِ شُهَدَاءَ لِلّهِ وَلَوْ عَلَى أَنفُسِكُمْ أَوِ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالْأَقْرَبِينَ إِن يَكُنْ غَنِيًّا أَوْ فَقِيرًا فَاللّهُ أَوْلَى بِهِمَا فَلاَ تَتَّبِعُواْ الْهَوَى أَن تَعْدِلُواْ وَإِن تَلْوُواْ أَوْ تُعْرِضُواْ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا | |||||
| Words | |يا - O| أيها - O you| الذين - who| آمنوا - believe[d]!| كونوا - Be| قوامين - custodians| بالقسط - of justice| شهداء - (as) witnesses| لله - to Allah,| ولو - even if| على - (it is) against| أنفسكم - yourselves| أو - or| الوالدين - the parents| والأقربين - and the relatives.| إن - if| يكن - he be| غنيا - rich| أو - or| فقيرا - poor,| فالله - for Allah| أولى - (is) nearer| بهما - to both of them.| فلا - So (do) not| تتبعوا - follow| الهوى - the desire| أن - lest| تعدلوا - you deviate.| وإن - And if| تلووا - you distort| أو - or| تعرضوا - refrain,| فإن - then indeed,| الله - Allah| كان - is| بما - of what| تعملون - you do| خبيرا - All-Aware.| | ||||||
| 6 [5:8] | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanookoonoo qawwameena lillahi shuhadaa bialqistiwala yajrimannakum shanaanu qawmin AAala allataAAdiloo iAAdiloo huwa aqrabu lilttaqwa waittaqooAllaha inna Allaha khabeerun bima taAAmaloona | يا أيها الذين آمنوا كونوا قوامين لله شهداء بالقسط ولا يجرمنكم شنآن قوم على ألا تعدلوا اعدلوا هو أقرب للتقوى واتقوا الله إن الله خبير بما تعملون يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ كُونُواْ قَوَّامِينَ لِلّهِ شُهَدَاءَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلاَ يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَى أَلاَّ تَعْدِلُواْ اعْدِلُواْ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَى وَاتَّقُواْ اللّهَ إِنَّ اللّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |يا - O| أيها - O you| الذين - who| آمنوا - believe!| كونوا - Be| قوامين - steadfast| لله - for Allah| شهداء - (as) witnesses| بالقسط - in justice,| ولا - and let not| يجرمنكم - prevent you| شنآن - hatred| قوم - (of) a people| على - [upon]| ألا - that not| تعدلوا - you do justice.| اعدلوا - Be just| هو - it| أقرب - (is) nearer| للتقوى - to [the] piety.| واتقوا - And fear| الله - Allah;| إن - indeed,| الله - Allah| خبير - (is) All-Aware| بما - of what| تعملون - you do.| | ||||||
| 7 [5:44] | Inna anzalna alttawratafeeha hudan wanoorun yahkumu biha alnnabiyyoonaallatheena aslamoo lillatheena hadoo waalrrabbaniyyoonawaal-ahbaru bima istuhfithoomin kitabi Allahi wakanoo AAalayhi shuhadaafala takhshawoo alnnasa waikhshawniwala tashtaroo bi-ayatee thamanan qaleelanwaman lam yahkum bima anzala Allahu faola-ikahumu alkafiroona | إنا أنزلنا التوراة فيها هدى ونور يحكم بها النبيون الذين أسلموا للذين هادوا والربانيون والأحبار بما استحفظوا من كتاب الله وكانوا عليه شهداء فلا تخشوا الناس واخشون ولا تشتروا بآياتي ثمنا قليلا ومن لم يحكم بما أنزل الله فأولئك هم الكافرون إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَا التَّوْرَاةَ فِيهَا هُدًى وَنُورٌ يَحْكُمُ بِهَا النَّبِيُّونَ الَّذِينَ أَسْلَمُواْ لِلَّذِينَ هَادُواْ وَالرَّبَّانِيُّونَ وَالْأَحْبَارُ بِمَا اسْتُحْفِظُواْ مِن كِتَابِ اللّهِ وَكَانُواْ عَلَيْهِ شُهَدَاءَ فَلاَ تَخْشَوُاْ النَّاسَ وَاخْشَوْنِ وَلاَ تَشْتَرُواْ بِآيَاتِي ثَمَنًا قَلِيلاً وَمَن لَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ هُمُ الْكَافِرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |إنا - Indeed,| أنزلنا - We revealed| التوراة - the Taurat| فيها - in it| هدى - (was) Guidance| ونور - and light;| يحكم - judged| بها - by it| النبيون - the Prophets,| الذين - those who| أسلموا - had submitted (to Allah)| للذين - for those who| هادوا - were Jews,| والربانيون - and the Rabbis,| والأحبار - and the scholars,| بما - with what| استحفظوا - they were entrusted| من - of| كتاب - (the) Book| الله - (of) Allah| وكانوا - and they were| عليه - to it| شهداء - witnesses.| فلا - So (do) not| تخشوا - fear| الناس - the people| واخشون - but fear Me,| ولا - and (do) not| تشتروا - sell| بآياتي - My Verses| ثمنا - (for) a price,| قليلا - little.| ومن - And whoever| لم - (does) not| يحكم - judge| بما - by what| أنزل - has revealed| الله - Allah,| فأولئك - then those| هم - [they]| الكافرون - (are) the disbelievers.| | ||||||
| 8 [6:144] | Wamina al-ibili ithnayni wamina albaqariithnayni qul alththakarayni harramaami alonthayayni amma ishtamalat AAalayhi arhamualonthayayni am kuntum shuhadaa ith wassakumuAllahu bihatha faman athlamu mimmaniiftara AAala Allahi kathiban liyudillaalnnasa bighayri AAilmin inna Allaha layahdee alqawma alththalimeena | ومن الإبل اثنين ومن البقر اثنين قل آلذكرين حرم أم الأنثيين أما اشتملت عليه أرحام الأنثيين أم كنتم شهداء إذ وصاكم الله بهذا فمن أظلم ممن افترى على الله كذبا ليضل الناس بغير علم إن الله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين وَمِنَ الْإِبْلِ اثْنَيْنِ وَمِنَ الْبَقَرِ اثْنَيْنِ قُلْ آلذَّكَرَيْنِ حَرَّمَ أَمِ الْأُنْثَيَيْنِ أَمَّا اشْتَمَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ أَرْحَامُ الْأُنْثَيَيْنِ أَمْ كُنتُمْ شُهَدَاءَ إِذْ وَصَّاكُمُ اللّهُ بِهَـذَا فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَى عَلَى اللّهِ كَذِبًا لِيُضِلَّ النَّاسَ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |ومن - And of| الإبل - the camels| اثنين - two| ومن - and of| البقر - the cows| اثنين - two.| قل - Say,| آلذكرين - "(Is it) the two males| حرم - He (has) forbidden| أم - or| الأنثيين - the two females| أما - or what| اشتملت - contains| عليه - [in it]| أرحام - (the) wombs| الأنثيين - (of) the two females?| أم - Or| كنتم - were you| شهداء - witnesses| إذ - when| وصاكم - enjoined you| الله - Allah| بهذا - with this?| فمن - Then who| أظلم - (is) more unjust| ممن - than (one) who| افترى - invents| على - against| الله - Allah| كذبا - a lie| ليضل - to mislead| الناس - the people| بغير - without| علم - knowledge?| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| لا - (does) not| يهدي - guide| القوم - the people,| الظالمين - the wrongdoing."| | ||||||
| 9 [22:78] | Wajahidoo fee Allahi haqqajihadihi huwa ijtabakum wama jaAAalaAAalaykum fee alddeeni min harajin millata abeekumibraheema huwa sammakumu almuslimeena min qabluwafee hatha liyakoona alrrasoolu shaheedanAAalaykum watakoonoo shuhadaa AAala alnnasifaaqeemoo alssalata waatoo alzzakatawaiAAtasimoo biAllahi huwa mawlakumfaniAAma almawla waniAAma alnnaseeru | وجاهدوا في الله حق جهاده هو اجتباكم وما جعل عليكم في الدين من حرج ملة أبيكم إبراهيم هو سماكم المسلمين من قبل وفي هذا ليكون الرسول شهيدا عليكم وتكونوا شهداء على الناس فأقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة واعتصموا بالله هو مولاكم فنعم المولى ونعم النصير وَجَاهِدُوا فِي اللَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِ هُوَ اجْتَبَاكُمْ وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍ مِّلَّةَ أَبِيكُمْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ هُوَ سَمَّاكُمُ الْمُسْلِمينَ مِن قَبْلُ وَفِي هَذَا لِيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِاللَّهِ هُوَ مَوْلَاكُمْ فَنِعْمَ الْمَوْلَى وَنِعْمَ النَّصِيرُ | |||||
| Words | |وجاهدوا - And strive| في - for| الله - Allah| حق - (with the) striving due (to) Him.| جهاده - (with the) striving due (to) Him.| هو - He| اجتباكم - (has) chosen you| وما - and not| جعل - placed| عليكم - upon you| في - in| الدين - the religion| من - any| حرج - difficulty.| ملة - (The) religion| أبيكم - (of) your father| إبراهيم - Ibrahim.| هو - He| سماكم - named you| المسلمين - Muslims| من - before| قبل - before| وفي - and in| هذا - this,| ليكون - that may be| الرسول - the Messenger| شهيدا - a witness| عليكم - over you| وتكونوا - and you may be| شهداء - witnesses| على - on| الناس - the mankind.| فأقيموا - So establish| الصلاة - the prayer| وآتوا - and give| الزكاة - zakah| واعتصموا - and hold fast| بالله - to Allah.| هو - He| مولاكم - (is) your Protector -| فنعم - so an Excellent| المولى - [the] Protector| ونعم - and an Excellent| النصير - [the] Helper.| | ||||||
| 10 [24:4] | Waallatheena yarmoona almuhsanatithumma lam ya/too bi-arbaAAati shuhadaa faijlidoohumthamaneena jaldatan wala taqbaloo lahum shahadatanabadan waola-ika humu alfasiqoona | والذين يرمون المحصنات ثم لم يأتوا بأربعة شهداء فاجلدوهم ثمانين جلدة ولا تقبلوا لهم شهادة أبدا وأولئك هم الفاسقون وَالَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَأْتُوا بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَاءَ فَاجْلِدُوهُمْ ثَمَانِينَ جَلْدَةً وَلَا تَقْبَلُوا لَهُمْ شَهَادَةً أَبَدًا وَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ | |||||
| Words | |والذين - And those who| يرمون - accuse| المحصنات - the chaste women,| ثم - then| لم - not| يأتوا - they bring| بأربعة - four| شهداء - witnesses,| فاجلدوهم - then flog them| ثمانين - (with) eighty| جلدة - lashe(s)| ولا - and (do) not| تقبلوا - accept| لهم - their| شهادة - testimony| أبدا - ever.| وأولئك - And those,| هم - they| الفاسقون - (are) the defiantly disobedient,| | ||||||
| 11 [24:6] | Waallatheena yarmoona azwajahumwalam yakun lahum shuhadao illa anfusuhum fashahadatuahadihim arbaAAu shahadatin biAllahiinnahu lamina alssadiqeena | والذين يرمون أزواجهم ولم يكن لهم شهداء إلا أنفسهم فشهادة أحدهم أربع شهادات بالله إنه لمن الصادقين وَالَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ أَزْوَاجَهُمْ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ شُهَدَاءُ إِلَّا أَنفُسُهُمْ فَشَهَادَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ أَرْبَعُ شَهَادَاتٍ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ | |||||
| Words | |والذين - And those who| يرمون - accuse| أزواجهم - their spouses| ولم - and not| يكن - have| لهم - for them| شهداء - witnesses| إلا - except| أنفسهم - themselves,| فشهادة - then (the) testimony| أحدهم - (of) one of them| أربع - (is) four| شهادات - testimonies| بالله - by Allah,| إنه - that he| لمن - (is) surely of| الصادقين - the truthful.| | ||||||
| 12 [24:13] | Lawla jaoo AAalayhibi-arbaAAati shuhadaa fa-ith lam ya/too bialshshuhada-ifaola-ika AAinda Allahi humu alkathiboona | لولا جاءوا عليه بأربعة شهداء فإذ لم يأتوا بالشهداء فأولئك عند الله هم الكاذبون لَوْلَا جَاؤُوا عَلَيْهِ بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَاءَ فَإِذْ لَمْ يَأْتُوا بِالشُّهَدَاءِ فَأُوْلَئِكَ عِندَ اللَّهِ هُمُ الْكَاذِبُونَ | |||||
