| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[91:8] | Faalhamaha fujooraha wataqwaha
|  فألهمها فجورها وتقواها
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا |
| Words | |فألهمها - And He inspired it| فجورها - (to distinguish) its wickedness| وتقواها - and its righteousness| |

| አመጽዋንና ፍርሃትዋንም ባሳወቃት (አምላክ እምላለሁ)፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { فألهمها فجورها وتقواها } بيَّن لها طريق الخير والشر وأخر التقوى رعاية لرؤوس الآي وجواب القسم: |
| Iwehheb as laâwayeô is, aêezzeb is. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | অতঃপর তাকে তার অসৎকর্ম ও সৎকর্মের জ্ঞান দান করেছেন, |
| Literal | So He inspired/transmitted (to) it its debauchery/corruption, and its fear and obedience of God. |
| Yusuf Ali | And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;- |
| Pickthal | And inspired it (with conscience of) what is wrong for it and (what is) right for it. |
| Arberry | and inspired it to lewdness and godfearing! |
| Shakir | Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it; |
| Sarwar | and inspired it with knowledge of evil and piety,. |
| H/K/Saheeh | And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness, |
| Malik | and inspired it with knowledge of what is wrong for it and what is right for it:[8] |
| Maulana Ali** | So He reveals to it its way of evil and its way of good; |
| Free Minds | So He gave it its evil and good. |
| Qaribullah | and inspired it with its sin and its piety, |
| George Sale | and inspired into the same its faculty of distinguishing, and power of choosing, wickedness and piety: |

| Asad | and how it is imbued with moral failings as well as with consciousness of God! |
