بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [9:42] | Law kana AAaradan qareebanwasafaran qasidan laittabaAAooka walakinbaAAudat AAalayhimu alshshuqqatu wasayahlifoona biAllahilawi istataAAna lakharajna maAAakumyuhlikoona anfusahum waAllahu yaAAlamu innahum lakathiboona
| لو كان عرضا قريبا وسفرا قاصدا لاتبعوك ولكن بعدت عليهم الشقة وسيحلفون بالله لو استطعنا لخرجنا معكم يهلكون أنفسهم والله يعلم إنهم لكاذبون لَوْ كَانَ عَرَضًا قَرِيبًا وَسَفَرًا قَاصِدًا لاَّتَّبَعُوكَ وَلَـكِن بَعُدَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الشُّقَّةُ وَسَيَحْلِفُونَ بِاللّهِ لَوِ اسْتَطَعْنَا لَخَرَجْنَا مَعَكُمْ يُهْلِكُونَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَاللّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ |
Words | |لو - If| كان - it had been| عرضا - a gain| قريبا - near| وسفرا - and a journey| قاصدا - easy,| لاتبعوك - surely they (would) have followed you| ولكن - but| بعدت - was long| عليهم - for them| الشقة - the distance.| وسيحلفون - And they will swear| بالله - by Allah,| لو - "If| استطعنا - we were able,| لخرجنا - certainly we (would) have come forth| معكم - with you."| يهلكون - They destroy| أنفسهم - their own selves| والله - and Allah| يعلم - knows| إنهم - (that) indeed, they| لكاذبون - (are) surely liars.| |

| (የጠራህባቸው ነገር) ቅርብ ጥቅምና መካከለኛ ጉዞ በኾነ ኖሮ በተከተሉህ ነበር፡፡ ግን በነሱ ላይ መንገዲቱ ራቀችባቸው፡፡ «በቻልንም ኖሮ ከእናንተ ጋር በወጣን ነበር» ሲሉ በአላህ ይምላሉ፡፡ ነፍሶቻቸውን ያጠፋሉ፡፡ አላህም እነሱ ውሸታሞች መኾናቸውን በእርግጥ ያውቃል፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | ونزل في المنافقين الذين تخلفوا { لو كان } ما دعوتهم إليه { عرضا } متاعا من الدنيا { قريبا } سهل المأخذ { وسفرا قاصدا } وسطا { لاتَّبعوك } طلبا للغنيمة { ولكن بعدت عليهم الشُّقَّةُ } المسافة فتخلفوا { وسيحلفون بالله } إذا رجعتم إليهم { لو استطعنا } الخروج { لخرجنا معكم يهلكون أنفسهم } بالحلف الكاذب { والله يعلم إنهم لكاذبون } في قولهم ذلك . |

মুহিউদ্দীন খান | যদি আশু লাভের সম্ভাবনা থাকতো এবং যাত্রাপথও সংক্ষিপ্ত হতো, তবে তারা অবশ্যই আপনার সহযাত্রী হতো, কিন্তু তাদের নিকট যাত্রাপথ সুদীর্ঘ মনে হল। আর তারা এমনই শপথ করে বলবে, আমাদের সাধ্য থাকলে অবশ্যই তোমাদের সাথে বের হতাম, এরা নিজেরাই নিজেদের বিনষ্ট করছে, আর আল্লাহ জানেন যে, এরা মিথ্যাবাদী। |
Literal | If (it) was near/close enjoyable accessories/vanities , and an easy and light journey/trip , they would have followed you, and but the hard to reach distance it became distant/far on (for) them, and they will swear/take oath by God: "If we were able we would have gotten out/emerged with you." They perish/destroy themselves, and God knows that they truly are lying/denying (E) . |
Yusuf Ali | If there had been immediate gain (in sight), and the journey easy, they would (all) without doubt have followed thee, but the distance was long, (and weighed) on them. They would indeed swear by Allah, "If we only could, we should certainly have come out with you": They would destroy their own souls; for Allah doth know that they are certainly lying. |
Pickthal | Had it been a near adventure and an easy journey they had followed thee, but the distance seemed too far for them. Yet will they swear by Allah (saying): If we had been able we would surely have set out with you. They destroy their souls, and Allah knoweth that they verily are liars. |
Arberry | Were it a gain near at hand, and an easy journey, they would have followed thee; but the distance was too far for them. Still they will swear by God, 'Had we been able, we would have gone out with you,' so destroying their souls; and God knows that they are truly liars. |
Shakir | Had it been a near advantage and a short journey, they would certainly have followed you, but the tedious journey was too long for them; and they swear by Allah: If we had been able, we would certainly have gone forth with you; they cause their own souls to perish, and Allah knows that they are most surely |
Sarwar | Had the gain been immediate or the journey shorter, they (hypocrites) would certainly have followed you, (Muhammad), but it was too far for them. They will swear by God, "Had we had the ability, we would certainly have marched with you." They destroy only themselves and God knows that they are lying. |
H/K/Saheeh | Had it been an easy gain and a moderate trip, the hypocrites would have followed you, but distant to them was the journey. And they will swear by Allah, "If we were able, we would have gone forth with you," destroying themselves [through false oaths], and Allah knows that indeed they are liars. |
Malik | As for the hypocrites, if the gain would have been immediate and the journey short, they would have certainly accompanied you, but the long journey (in Tabuk expedition) was too hard for them. To justify their not accompanying you, they would even swear by Allah, "If we were able, we would certainly have marched with you." By doing so, they are destroying their own souls, for Allah knows that they are liars.[42] |
Maulana Ali** | Had it been a near gain and a short journey, they would certainly have followed thee, but the hard journey was too long for them. And they will swear by Allah: If we had been able, we would have gone forth with you. They cause their own souls to perish; and Allah knows that they are liars. |

Khalifa** | If there were a quick material gain, and a short journey, they would have followed you. But the striving is just too much for them. They will swear by GOD: "If we could, we would have mobilized with you." They thus hurt themselves, and GOD knows that they are liars. |

Na pzapa siran dn ko Allah sa: "O miyakagaga kami, na miyapd kami niyo dn a lominiyo:" Pmbinasaan iran so manga ginawa iran; na so Allah na katawan Iyan a mataan! a siran na titho a manga bokhag. |

Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary | اگر مالِ غنیمت سہل الحصول اور سفر بھی ہلکا سا ہوتا تو تمہارے ساتھ (شوق سے) چل دیتے۔ لیکن مسافت ان کو دور (دراز) نظر آئی (تو عذر کریں گے) ۔ اور خدا کی قسمیں کھائیں گے کہ اگر ہم طاقت رکھتے تو آپ کے ساتھ ضرور نکل کھڑے ہوتے یہ (ایسے عذروں سے) اپنے تئیں ہلاک کر رہے ہیں۔ اور خدا جانتا ہے کہ جھوٹے ہیں |
Mehmood Al Hassan | اگر مال ہو تا نزدیک اور سفر ہلکا تو وہ لوگ ضرور تیرے ساتھ ہو لیتے لیکن لمبی نظر آئی ان کو مسافت اور اب قسمیں کھائیں گے اللہ کی کہ اگر ہم سے ہو سکتا تو ہم ضرور چلتے تمہارے ساتھ وبال میں ڈالتے ہیں اپنی جانوں کو اور اللہ جانتا ہےکہ وہ جھوٹے ہیں |
Abul Ala Maududi | اے نبیؐ، اگر فائدہ سہل الحصول ہوتا اور سفر ہلکا ہوتا تو وہ ضرور تمہارے پیچھے چلنے پر آمادہ ہو جاتے، مگر ان پر تو یہ راستہ بہت کٹھن ہو گیا اب وہ خدا کی قسم کھا کھا کر کہیں گے کہ اگر ہم چل سکتے تو یقیناً تمہارے ساتھ چلتے وہ اپنے آپ کو ہلاکت میں ڈال رہے ہیں اللہ خوب جانتا ہے کہ وہ جھوٹے ہیں |
