بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [8:17] | Falam taqtuloohum walakinna Allahaqatalahum wama ramayta ith ramayta walakinnaAllaha rama waliyubliya almu/mineena minhu balaanhasanan inna Allaha sameeAAun AAaleemun
| فلم تقتلوهم ولكن الله قتلهم وما رميت إذ رميت ولكن الله رمى وليبلي المؤمنين منه بلاء حسنا إن الله سميع عليم فَلَمْ تَقْتُلُوهُمْ وَلَـكِنَّ اللّهَ قَتَلَهُمْ وَمَا رَمَيْتَ إِذْ رَمَيْتَ وَلَـكِنَّ اللّهَ رَمَى وَلِيُبْلِيَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْهُ بَلاَءً حَسَناً إِنَّ اللّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ |
Words | |فلم - And not| تقتلوهم - you kill them,| ولكن - but| الله - Allah| قتلهم - killed them.| وما - And not| رميت - you threw| إذ - when| رميت - you threw,| ولكن - but| الله - Allah| رمى - threw| وليبلي - and that He may test| المؤمنين - the believers| منه - from Him| بلاء - (with) a trial| حسنا - good.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| سميع - (is) All-Hearing,| عليم - All-Knowing.| |

| አልገደላችኋቸውም ግን አላህ ገደላቸው፡፡ (ጭብጥን ዐፈር) በወረወርክም ጊዜ አንተ አልወረወርክም፡፡ ግን አላህ ወረወረ (ወደ ዓይኖቻቸው አደረሰው)፡፡ ለአማኞችም ከርሱ የኾነን መልካም ጸጋ ለመስጠት (ይህን አደረገ)፡፡ አላህ ሰሚ ዐዋቂ ነውና፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { فلم تقتلوهم } ببدر بقوتكم { ولكنَّ الله قتلهم } بنصره إيّاكم { وما رميت } يا محمد لأعين القوم { إذ رميت } بالحصى لأن كفا من الحصى لا يملأ عيون الجيش الكثير برمية بشر { ولكنَّ الله رمى } بإيصال ذلك إليهم فعل ذلك ليقهر الكافرين { وليبلي المؤمنين منه بلاءً } عطاء { حسنا } هو الغنيمة { إن الله سميع } لأقوالهم { عليم } بأحوالهم . |
| Ur ten tennu$em, maca d Öebbi iten Innu$en. Ur teôoimev mi tôeomev, maca Öebbi Iôoem, iwakken ad Ijeôôeb lmumnin s ujeôôeb umâin s$uôeS. Öebbi, s tidep, Issel, d Amusnaw. |
মুহিউদ্দীন খান | সুতরাং তোমরা তাদেরকে হত্যা করনি, বরং আল্লাহই তাদেরকে হত্যা করেছেন। আর তুমি মাটির মুষ্ঠি নিক্ষেপ করনি, যখন তা নিক্ষেপ করেছিলে, বরং তা নিক্ষেপ করেছিলেন আল্লাহ স্বয়ং যেন ঈমানদারদের প্রতি এহসান করতে পারেন যথার্থভাবে। নিঃসন্দেহে আল্লাহ শ্রবণকারী; পরিজ্ঞাত। |
Literal | So you did not kill them, and but God killed them, and you did not throw when you threw, and but God threw, and (it is for) God to test the believers from Him a good test, that God (is) hearing/listening, knowledgeable. |
Yusuf Ali | It is not ye who slew them; it was Allah: when thou threwest (a handful of dust), it was not thy act, but Allah's: in order that He might test the Believers by a gracious trial from Himself: for Allah is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things). |
Pickthal | Ye (Muslims) slew them not, but Allah slew them. And thou (Muhammad) threwest not when thou didst throw, but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair test from Him. Lo! Allah is Hearer, Knower. |
Arberry | You did not slay them, but God slew them; and when thou threwest, it was not thyself that threw, but God threw, and that He might confer on the believers a fair benefit; surely God is All-hearing, All-knowing. |

Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary | تم لوگوں نے ان (کفار) کو قتل نہیں کیا بلکہ خدا نے انہیں قتل کیا۔ اور (اے محمدﷺ) جس وقت تم نے کنکریاں پھینکی تھیں تو وہ تم نے نہیں پھینکی تھیں بلکہ الله نے پھینکی تھیں۔ اس سے یہ غرض تھی کہ مومنوں کو اپنے (احسانوں) سے اچھی طرح آزمالے۔ بےشک خدا سنتا جانتا ہے |
