[8:13] | Thalika bi-annahum shaqqoo Allahawarasoolahu waman yushaqiqi Allaha warasoolahufa-inna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi
|  ذلك بأنهم شاقوا الله ورسوله ومن يشاقق الله ورسوله فإن الله شديد العقاب
ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ شَآقُّواْ اللّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ اللّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ |
| Words | |ذلك - That| بأنهم - (is) because they| شاقوا - opposed| الله - Allah| ورسوله - and His Messenger.| ومن - And whoever| يشاقق - opposes| الله - Allah| ورسوله - and His Messenger,| فإن - then indeed,| الله - Allah| شديد - (is) severe| العقاب - in [the] penalty.| |

| ይህ እነርሱ አላህንና መልክተኛውን ስለተቃወሙ ነው፡፡ አላህንና መልክተኛውንም የሚቃወም ሁሉ አላህ ቅጣቱ ብርቱ ነው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ذلك } العذاب الواقع بهم { بأنهم شاقوا } خالفوا { الله ورسوله ومن يشاقق الله ورسوله فإن الله شديد العقاب } له . |
| Ayagi, acku nitni, s tidep, xuûmen Öebbi akked Umazan iS. I win ixuûmen Öebbi akked Umazan iS, ihi, Öebbi Iwâaô deg uâaqeb. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | যেহেতু তারা অবাধ্য হয়েছে আল্লাহ এবং তাঁর রসূলের, সেজন্য এই নির্দেশ। বস্তুতঃ যে লোক আল্লাহ ও রসূলের অবাধ্য হয়, নিঃসন্দেহে আল্লাহর শাস্তি অত্যন্ত কঠোর। |
| Literal | That (is) because they (E) defied/disobeyed God and His messenger, and who defies/disobeys God and His messenger, so then God (is) strong (severe in) the punishment. |
| Yusuf Ali | This because they contended against Allah and His Messenger: If any contend against Allah and His Messenger, Allah is strict in punishment. |
| Pickthal | That is because they opposed Allah and His messenger. Whoso opposeth Allah and His messenger, (for him) lo! Allah is severe in punishment. |
