[69:5] | Faamma thamoodu faohlikoo bialttaghiyati
|  فأما ثمود فأهلكوا بالطاغية
فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِالطَّاغِيَةِ |
| Words | |فأما - So as for| ثمود - Thamud,| فأهلكوا - they were destroyed| بالطاغية - by the overpowering (blast).| |

| ሠሙድማ ወሰን በሌላት ጩኸት ተጠፋ፤ (ተወደሙ)፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { فأما ثمود فأهلكوا بالطاغية } بالصيحة المجاوزة للحد في الشدة. |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | অতঃপর সমুদ গোত্রকে ধ্বংস করা হয়েছিল এক প্রলয়ংকর বিপর্যয় দ্বারা। |
| Literal | So but (for) Thamud , so they were made to die/destroyed with a wind blowing/frosty (and) violent . |
| Yusuf Ali | But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! |
