بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [54:15] | Walaqad taraknaha ayatanfahal min muddakirin
| ولقد تركناها آية فهل من مدكر وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَاهَا آيَةً فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ |
Words | |ولقد - And certainly| تركناها - We left it| آية - (as) a Sign,| فهل - so is (there)| من - any| مدكر - who will receive admonition?| |

| ተዓምር አድርገንም በእርግጥ ተውናት፡፡ ከተገሳጭም አልለን? |
آل الجلالين | { ولقد تركناها } أبقينا هذه الفعلة { آية } لمن يعتبر بها، أي شاع خبرها واستمر { فهل من مدَّكر } معتبر ومتعظ بها وأصله مذتكر أبدلت التاء دالا مهملة وكذا المعجمة وأدغمت فيها . |

মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আমি একে এক নিদর্শনরূপে রেখে দিয়েছি। অতএব, কোন চিন্তাশীল আছে কি? |
Literal | And We had (E) left it (as) an evidence/sign , so is there from a rememberer? |
Yusuf Ali | And We have left this as a Sign (for all time): then is there any that will receive admonition? |

Literally, the above phrase reads, "We have left them [or "such"] as a sign...", etc. According to Ibn Kathir, the pronoun ha in taraknaha relates to "ships in a generic sense" (jins as-sufun), and quotes in this connection the above-mentioned passage (36:41-42); hence my interpolation, between brackets, of the words "floating vessels". The "sign" spoken of here alludes to God's having endowed man's mind with inventiveness and, thus, with the ability to widen the scope of his life through conscious effort.] who, then, is willing to take it to heart? [Lit., "And is there any that will...", etc. The above sentence recurs several times, like a refrain, in this surah.] |
